What can I say? Marvellous game. At first I was a bit.. let down by the looks of it & I let the price die down before buying it. I'm glad I didn't spend the full £25 or so for It when It first came out, though I am glad I bought it now.At first, I was slightly confused as to what to do, yet as the levels progressed, I caught on. From the first level, to the very last, it's basically a hack 'n' slash. Which for once, is Fun & Gory at the same time. Legions upon legions of Roman soldiers & Praetorians to keep you occupied through every level. Sometimes you charge them 1 on 1, other times with Castor,Pollux & Alexandra or even phalanxes of your own Spartan soldiers (Who surprisingly can hold they're own fairly well till Praetorain Assasins & Commanders join the fight.)Now onto the game itself. Bad points to me;The amount of damage you take when you fall. In Athens, when protecting him, I slipped off the 2nd wall of a ramp & suffered nearly a full bar of health gone.Next, how easy some of the bosses were. I found the Minotaur & Sejanes to be fairly easy, Area was also easier than I thought he would be for the acclaimed & legendary 'God of War'The weapons; I used the Sword & Sheild of Medusa throughout the entire game. The only time I used another weapon would be the Spear of Achilles against the Hydra (which you are forced to use) I found no other use for the other weapons except extra weight & used pocket space.Finally, the story. The plot at first was bright, flowing & held your attention after the gore & piles of festering courpses around you.The good points to me;The constant spawning of enemies & allies in battles such as The invasion of the Roman fort in the Alps.The way some enemies fight such as yourself, whether it be charging in hacking & slashing, or playing it defensively & ramming you with they're sheild (or kicking you over) before charging you.In particular I enjoy huge fight scenes, like on the walls of Sparta,The invasion of the Roman fort or just the Huge battle inside the Colleseum (By far the best)Thats all there really is to say in my eyes. If you want a good hack 'n' slash game with plenty of gore, a simple story & plenty of enemies on each level to massacre, then buy this game.Finally, a little tip for those of you stuck with the 'Purple caped men with double knives' AKA Praetorian Assasins.Pull out your sheild of Medusa & use R2 + Circle, which freezes all enemies to stone for between 10 - 20 seconds. Then simply take them out. They require 4 slashes with your sword or 2 in the back if your into backstabbing. That or when they rush you, simply Have your sheild out again & hold R2 to defend. When they attack simply push them over, though watch when they kick back at you when they jump up.If you try & attack them they will roll or somoersault out the way. Just keep trying to hit them & hack 'n' slash when you get the chance.

Playing this game when I was a kid, I decided to re-order it when i got my old Playstation back.First thing, first. This game is so brutal! I love it! while it may not be as gory or as scary as newer games, this game is awesome. from epic battles, to violent decapitations and incinerations, this game is so violently awesome.The plot is also fairly interesting too. Following the story of a nameless Spartan warrior fighting against the roman empire, the game kept me hooked into the plot enough to revisit this ancient greek story.The boss battles are pretty unique as well. For example, you have to fight the Hydra, a mythical 9 headed monster, and even Ares, the greek god of war.Some of these battles require a little thinking and planning, which makes it more appealing than other games that came out in the same year, well, in my opinion.All in all, this game is awesome! while im not usually a fan of level based games, and I prefer open world games, it is still worth playing. Deliciously violent, interesting plot and unique characters, i would put this game in my top 5 favorite games of all time, and highly recommend it.9.5/10

I found this game rather entertaining.It doesn't have:complex puzzles if you're into that.the most amazing storylineIt does have:Simple hack and slash fun.enough changes in mission, level style, enemies, bosses and weapons to keep you entertained. (my personal favourite was the dual blades (i forget their name) but it was most entertaining using up your power build up thing (it's been a while since i played) and then unleashing it with the blades and decapitating nearby 10 or so enemies.It does include a few of your favourite Greek mythical creatures (always fun).Storyline although present, with a mystery and accomplices and a nemesis if i remember correctly and all the usual,does have quite a poor ending leaving you wanting a bit more, which is a shame. But the length of the story is plenty long enough.It also has a challenge type mode where you battle waves of enemies and see how many waves you can survive. This is lightly entertaining.I would recomend this game, it is fun, especially if you played God of War and thought that there wasn't enough enemies.

Spartan total warrior is amazing. you start as the unnamed warrior spartan defending your great city of sparta. but then the gods wish you to get an item and you plunge into an amazing adventure with your comrades. one of the great things about this game is that as you hack yourself through amazing levels you are actually gaining experiance and when you complete the levels your character can get better at fighting he advances for warrior to hero the to legend.you can fight mysticial beasts like the minotaur, the 8 headed thing from herculies (sorry forgot the name) even the god of war aries. you don't just fight the same old roman foot solider either you fight different units all the time the strongr you get the stronger the get you even fight zombies and skeltons.looks like i am running out of room.IT IS A MUST HAVE GAME!!!!

This game is very epic. I was expecting your typical hack and slash affair with little substance but I was proved wrong. The opening level you have to defend Sparta from the Romans and you along with 100's of AI Spartans charge into battle. I have never seen so many enimies and AI characters on the screen at one time, it feels like you in the middle of the battle scenes from Gladiator or Troy it is hardcore. The game mixes up to keep you entertained, there are sneeking missions, guard missions and plain old kill everyone and the control setup is not over complicated making the pulling off of the gory combos very easy but at the same time its rewarding beheading 5 enimies at once.There are also free play mode and an arena mode where you fight against varioes enimies Gladiator style. A very well put together game

this is an amazing game, with super graphics and gameplay,the gameplay is very easy but to easy as the their are know combo moves. The graphics are amazing as you can see the heads fly off from the romans also the dead roman bodies do not disapear, wih amazing detail of your fellow spartons, the background graphics are brilliant with fine detail.The only down fall is the skeltons and the roman zombies which are just a waste of time,The mythical creatures sparton has to fight, have there own weakness whick you have to find out .This is a Legardnary game which i think you should buy.

When i bought this game all i wanted was a game that was all about running around killing lots of bad guys with medievil weapons, this game fitted the bill perfectly.it may not be historically factual but when there is a hundred badies surrounding you thats the last thing on your mind. the controls are easy to pick up which also makes this game ideal for a bit of fun after the pubs shut as mates can pick it up and go on a kill frenzy straight away. since i bought it several of my mates have bought it too.if all you want is a little mindless violence this is the game for you

This game is amazing, imagine Rome total war exept your a soldier and you have to kick ass! This game is one of the best games iv'e played, it is addictive and long lasting.It starts of as Rome invading Sparta and the God of war gives you a deal. He will give you amazing powers and strength if you give him blood. After each level you get points and when you have your point bar full you become warrior to Hero to Legend. I wouldn't say the game is too hard but it is long, with the main story and Arena. Trust me, get this game!

When i fist bought this game i thought it would be like just any other ordinary game.But when i played it,I was totally blown away.The game is just like how they do it in war films.A massive army with a hero (which is you) charging in alongside his troops, against the odds.The games graphics also add to the superb detailness and gore which spartan gives you.Overall i would recommend this game to anyone who liked God of war or dynasty warriors.I would give this game an amazing 10/10.

When i first got this, it seemed relatively fun. After a while though it gets quite boring despite killing horders of Romans and other creatures. You don't really need to put much effort into it, except from Boss battles, etc.The thing that i think makes it good is the range of Mythological creautres such as the Minotaur. If i would improve one thing it would to have a mission without actually killing. Because, they seem to of got alot of Kill,Kill,Kill chapters in it.

Once played i was hooked. The graphics are good but not spectacular. The missions get progressively trickier and although hard in some places, this stops you finishing the entire game too quickly.During the game you fight dozens of Romans, skeleton warriors, zombies and big troll-like creatures. In the end scenes you battle progressively more difficult baddies/monsters and need to find their individual weaknesses in order to progress.Really enjoyed this one.

This only lack behind God Of War in one way Its not quite as cool or mid-blowing but a fantastic game. There are a variety of different people to kill and plenty of them. They have taken enimies from Greek Mythology Medusa the Romans etc and have compiled it into a game which is fun and genious, there is also enough variety of gameplay. In One word this game is GENIOUS!!!

great game with alot of potential for making others like itreminds me of god of war without the puzzle solvingdecent ammount of gameplay with enough unlockables to keep you occupied for a few days plus after completing you can use the arena mode and take on endless ammounts of soldiers

loved this game, the gore, the game play is all awesome. i love how nothing can overstate the power and defense of the shield. this game should bring out a sequel. great game for Greek mythology and war games.

great for passing an hour or so a day to relieve some stressit has its easy bits, and it has its very difficult bits, and it has a good range of weaponary.certainly worth anyones money
