I bought this along with a UE boom3, UE megaboom 3 and UE wonderboom2The soundcore competes very well in terms of sound with significantly more sub bass than the boom3. However the soundcores sound profile is a lot colder than the ue's... Yes it has nice deep sub bass at below 60% volumn but the sound is very cold and this makes vocals sound quite high pitched....Both UE speakers have a darker more realistic timbre and the megaboom 3 produces more sub bass upto %60. The boom3 is left in the dust in therms of sub bass. The megaboom3 though distorts horrendously over 60% volumn and the bass becomes more woopy than boomy... It's really quite atrocious...The soundcore does not distort at all but the bass over does reach a max level and then stays there whilst the treble continues to increase making the speaker very shrill...In terms of high frequency. Both UE speakers are fine but have very little treble seperation... You can basically hear one symbol where as the soundcore is very defined and it is easy seperating all the high frequency and high mids. You can tell how many cymbals and vocals... The UE in comparison is a bit of a dry mess. The UE wonderboom2 however sounds more like the soundcore with vastly better seperation and high end detail than its more expensive bigger brothers.... The wonderboom2 sounds a lot like the soundcore only quieter...My main problems with the soundcore is its lack of warmth which the UE boom3 and megaboom3 have (wonderboom2 is colder) as well as the soundcores desire to become quite treble piercing... This is not to say the soundcore is a treble monster but unless you tweak the eq it can be a little painful at higher volumns.I also found the UE speakers are able to project the sound further providing a more 3d sound. The soundcore is more limited to an area close to the device. This is probably down to the nature of the soundcore being front firing whilst the ue's are side firing.I also truly hate the rubberised finish on the soundcore.... It becomes very dirty quickly (unlike the ue's which so not attract finger prints at all). I have the black soundcore and every single time I touch it it looks a year old. This would be fine if not for the trouble it takes to clean. Water simply will not do and I have to resort to alcohol wipes... The metal grill will also allow dust, sand etc and I assume the grill will have to be removed for cleaning at some time in the future....All in all, all these speakers at below 60-70% sound good (megaboom 3 has the bass issue mentioned) but the soundcore just gives you a lot more information, more definition, clarity and seperation... The UE boom3 and megaboom3 have a warmer easier to listen to sound.. the wonderboom2 is probably the best all rounder despite being quieter (not by a great deal)I would recommend the soundcore to anyone for use in a bedroom on a shelf or in an office where volumn isn't too important and you never have to touch it... The booms I recommend for carrying around, especially the boom3 which is light, feels indestructible and will go to full volumn without distortion... I would say forget the megaboom3 as its pretty poor unless at low volumn which to me makes it pointless....The wonderboom2 would work brilliantly in the office or outdoors...Update:I tried 2 of these as a stereo pair and they sound truly amazing!!!! They are tws so one speaker sends the signal to the other. This requires no apps unlike all other Bluetooth speakers and is more like true wireless earphones. The sound is beautiful and enchanting and I will definitely be keeping 2 of these.I tested battery life by using one as a soundbar plugged into my TV. I set the eq to high bass and after 9 hours of the TV being on at quite high volumn my battery indicator shows a drop of quarter.I have not yet managed to use these long enough to run them out. Unlike to Sony xb32 which I ran out in 5 hours and which lost 50% battery without even being on... (I have 2 of the Sony's and both are the same)The soundcore are more the UE boom3 in terms of battery. They just seem to keep going. In terms of soundcore sound. I have found myself setting a personal eq setting with bass set to plus 5db, miss pretty much at +1 and upper treble at 0 with treble at plus 4... V shaped but with the 1-5kh being lowest as I feel there is a boost there.150hz about +4db - 250hz at +3db to retain some warmth without introducing boomI don't find any of the presets particularly pleasing but if I had to pick one it would be heavy as the others sound somewhat thin.... I am not a bass head by any stretch but like a natural sound....I also found that one speaker plugged into my 3.5mm cable from the TV will still allow signal to be sent to my second soundcore motion plus creating a stereo pair from a 3.5mm into one of the speakers.... Brilliant

A honest customers review. If you don’t want to read the review here’s the take-home: It’s a great product, but its not perfect. Its worth the money at £70.Backstory; After 5 years of faithful service I was ready to give up my JBL Charge 1 and look for a more modern speaker. I was considered options like the Flip 5, Charge 4, Bose revolve mini, tribit xboom and UE Booms. I finally bought this speaker after various youtuber recommendation.SoundThe sound quality is where this speaker excels. The bass is clean and booming. It doesn’t distort at high volumes. Highs and mids are clear. It fills up a medium/large size room nicely. I’m not an audiophile but lots of youtubers with good audio understanding have praised it.You do have to download the Soundcore app and tweak the EQ to really get the best from this speaker. I may be wrong, but I highly doubt there’s a better sounding speaker at this price point.DesignThis is where you have to make the compromise for the speaker to maintain its price point. The design is very dated and looks like a speaker from the early 2000s (especially with the metal grill). The rubber texture is an oil and fingerprint magnet. The speaker grills have lots of holes that makes it very easy for sand and dirt to slip in and ger stuck. So I would not use this speaker at the beach/park. The buttons are tactile, but they are all in black and difficult to see in the dark. It comes in only black, so it isn’t very eye catching. Overall the design is just plain and doesn’t look as premium as other speakers.FeaturesThey are IPX7 waterproof BUT I personally wouldn’t use it for that (Just to be on the safe side). Its USB C which is great. Bluetooth 5.0. AUX input. APTX support for high res audio. Supports stereo pairing. So all things considered you do get very 2019 specs which a lot of speakers don’t give at this price.Battery LifeI use my speakers heavily. They’re probably used for about 6 hours a day at about 60% volume. I get 2 days use and charge it overnight. I think that’s average for a speaker so I’m happy with it but I would of course like better.WeightThe speaker IS on the heavy side (just over a kg). But it’s a nice weight that make it feel premium. It doesn’t quite compete with the flip 5 in terms of portability but its definitely on par with the Charge 4s. I mostly use my speakers in my room and around the house, so the weight is just fine but you would feel its presence in a bag pack. Conclusion – Is it worth it?Its not that simple. Its obvious Anker/Soundcore has had to make sacrifices to keep this price point. In saying that they’ve made the right sacrifices. The sound quality is excellent and while the design isn’t phenomenal, it is good enough. I purchased this speaker for £69 (you are bound to get this price eventually as there’s almost always a sale/voucher) and at this price it probably is unmatched. If you buy this at a £100’s the lines are a little more blurred. It is still a good speaker, don’t get me wrong. But its possible to also get options from JBL and bose when they’re on sale. So it is possible to get other good sounding speakers (maybe not as good as the motion+) but with nicer designs. So its up to you decide how you use your speakers and what matters to you.I use my speaker mostly at home and sometimes outside. Sound quality was the most important factor with design being secondary. With these requirements in mind and at price tag of £69, the speakers ARE unbeatable, and I highly recommend them. But having said that, there may be other speakers that are better suited to you at the £100 mark (or cheaper speakers if sound isn’t that important).

Overall, I'm happy and the sound is very good, so it's a keeper. The Good (+):+ if you use the multi-band EQ app, you can achieve a sound that suits your tastes. Without adjustment, the default EQ isn't great. These speakers are usually either far too bassy, lose mid-range vocals, not bassy enough, or some other issue. This is not perfect, but can be tweaked via the app such that I am happy (for the price/size)+ wide frequency response and a very clear, revealing, sound. It picks out detail in music that other speakers (at this price) have not revealed. Very good.+ it has a much lower level of background hiss / noise than others I've tried, so is good for quiet listening and quiet passages of music. This has been a big problem for me in the past (a Tribit MaxxSound+ I tried was bad in this respect).+ not too big for what it does (but not a super-light device for taking out and about)+ styling not too bad, could be more minimal for my tastes, but certainly better than some of the horrible designs and better than Anker's earlier stuff. And no silly lighting effects.+ excellent battery life and the battery status can be seen on the app. However, see a 'negative' below about the app's battery level report and how it shuts down.+ firmware can be updated, so has the potential for futher improvement/refinement.+ can be paired with another identical model to make a wide stereo setup of 30W per channel. Have not tried this, but quite tempted in the future maybe. The not-so-good (-):- it fades sound in when a track is first played from silent, so you miss the first half-second or so of the song. This is really annoying and I have almost considered returning it because of it, but decided that I'll live with it. No other bluetooth speaker that I have owned has done this. It may be there to protect the speaker drivers against high-volume surges or something, but it's fundamentally a bad thing for the listener. I do hope that Anker can at least drastically reduce the fade-in time in a future firmware update (ideally remove it altogether).- the speaker does not warn when the battery is low (as all other speakers I've tried do, via a beep or something) and the music just stops with about 15-20% of battery power still showing in the app.- the rubbery finish of the top, back and bottom shows fingerprints very easily and looks unpleasant once these are showing. They can be wiped off with a bit of scrubbing, just not a good design aspect.- start-up and shut-down tones are nasty and naff. I wish they were just a simple beep. Just bad and goes against the aim of this speaker to be a high-end, high-quality speaker.- bit awkward to get the USB lead inserted for charging on the side as it is recessed quite a long way.Other:* it's not a lightweight speaker for people who are looking for something to carry out and about. Check the weight to see if it's right for you. No problems moving from room to room at home, though, it's small and portable.

My motion+ arrived this afternoon. After using the soundcore boost I was confident this should be a good speaker especially for 100 quid. It has a good weight to it and feels solid. There are a few silly start up tones, but pairing was easy, it had 75%battery and I started listening to random songs Via my P30 Pro. The bass up turned on, I wasn't immediately impressed with the bass. It was ok though, and the mids and high end were very clear. So I proceeded to download the app, and have a play with that. There isn't too much on the soundcore app, software updates, power cycling but most importantly, an equaliser. So I cycled through the presets and then got to custom, where I dropped the mids and highs a bit and cracked up the low frequencies a bit. Already sounding fuller, without being muted on the mids. Then I went into my phone's music player sound settings. I had my P30 left on music mode with focused selected and a flat equaliser. So I switched it to Open sound, and again tweeted the equaliser in my stock music app. Raising the lows again and slightly raised the highs. Now the sound was great. Good bass with nice clear vocals and highs. It also went pretty loud. So I decided to compare it to my Sony xb30 in its current equaliser settings. This speaker has never failed to impress me for its size. And in comparison, the Sony sounded almost muffled. Possibly still more bass with the Extra bass turned on, but the mids and highs were almost non existent. Even retweeking the equaliser, I couldn't get it to sound as all-round clear as the motion+. And when I was switching between the 2 speakers with the volume higher, the Sony kinda sounded distorted compared to the soundcore in bass. I have a few other speakers I need to compare it to, xb41, JBL charge 3 and minirigs, but so far I'm pretty impressed with the soundcore. I believe you can stereo pair 2 of these together, which I'm sure would sound great. I will keep using the soundcore to break it in more and then try it again against other speakers. I'm glad I benefited from the 25 quid discount from Anker, but for 100 it seems a tad steep. If Anker could make a dedicated portable sub (like minrig), I have no doubt that 2 of these and a sub, would blow the minirigs away. But for now it's still just slightly lacking in bass for my liking, although it can be improved alot with tweaks as I said. I can't comment on battery life yet, but will update as I can.

Quite simply this is incredible for its size and cost. I'd watched a few youtube reviews before buying and i'd advise you do the same and form your own opinion. Check out 'Oluv's Gadgets' youtube channel as this guy has the most in-depth reviews i've seen and he uses binaural microphones so you get a real feel of how they sound (you need to wear headphones) to get the full effect of his reviews.I originally was going to buy the Bose Soundlink Mini 2 as these were the benchmark in Bluetooth speakers and due to their popularity over the years seemed to be the go-to choice. However the Bose Soundlink 2 hasn't changed its design and construction since 2015 when it was launched and technology hasmoved on a lot since then so its now way behind the newer brands. As such the Bose is no longer the must have speaker.I'm not a hi-fi boffin by any means, but i DJ, listing to music everyday, and appreciate high end well made kit in other areas of music. This little speaker is without a doubt the best value music item i've ever bought. The sound is quite simply brilliant and the unit is very solid. No rattles or cheap plastic feeling.I used to have a set-up of Mini Rigs with their sub and two speakers at a cost of nearly £400 and used to take them to festivals and on holiday but all the wires were a faff. I played the Amazon waiting game kept checking the price of this Soundcore unit it got one when it was at a promo of £70. A few weeks later bought another for a family member for £75 so its worth keeping an eye on the price as they come up and down all the time. The sound is even more improved when its placed in the corner of a room. I have mine hung up in the corner of a workshop and the bass port at the rear really comes into its own in a corner as the boucnes back off the wall. I've also compared it a Bose Soundlink 2 and its knocks it out of the park!Even at full RRP I wouldn't hesitate to say this is still great value. My minirigs were subsequently sold after buying this. Im probably going to buy another soon and pair them up too.I also bought a Soundcore Boost at the same time as this purchase for my mum and this too is incredible and was £40. It looks more suited to sit on a bookshelf with its nice cloth speaker front whereas this Motion + model is more industrial looking.Overall an amazing product delivers way more then products costing double.

Sounds ExcellentI've had this speaker for just over two weeks after reading some good reviews on youtube and being dissatisfied with a JBL flip 4 which is more money than the Anker (when it is on offer). I own a minirig v1 setup which is on another level, but that is too big for work and a pain carting around the house with the wires and the plugging and unplugging for casual listening. So I bought this and have been very pleased. The sound from this speaker is clear and because of its ability to play bluetooth aptX high definition quite detailed, with good highs and enough bass( not distorted or pushing it too far) Its especially good with vocals and guitars. I like the fact it has things missing from other speakers (usb c and bluetooth 5) and they do update the firmware unlike some. Yes the coating is a finger grease magnet but no biggie for me. I have found it cuts a second or so from the beginnings of youtube videos but maybe a update will sort that. It also still throws the custom Eq settings after charging or sometimes randomly when turning on, even after the last firmware update, still some more work needed on that point, but its not to much hassle to reset. More importantly there seems to be a problem with two units retaining the same custom settings when paired up, again hopefully fixed with a update, I'm going to put off considering getting a second until that is fixed. Battery life seems good but I have not timed it. Something I've noticed about charging, and maybe this is why some people are reviewing less battery life than expected, when the speaker reports 100% to my phone it is still charging for quite a while until it automatically stops charging, I think the app reports to the phone incorrectly because it shuts down when still showing 20% left on my phone and continues charging when it shows full ( there is no way of checking without the app or Bluetooth notification). Top marks for customer service when I ran into a issue.

What's not to like. 2 Drivers, 2 Tweeters combined with a passive radiator you get a stereo room filling sound with good punch. 30W is loud to fill any room. You need to download the app and customise the equalizer to get the best out of this unit.I have played different kinds of music and can say the Bass, vocals and highs are very well balanced. You will not be disappointed with the build quality as it has a premium feel and for the price it deserves to be right up there.Grabbed one at the deal price £64.99. It puts all your JBL's Sony's and UE's to shame. Sony comes ever slightly close to the Motion+ when it comes to experience but JBL's and UE's sound like they are always placed in an empty earthen pot.No offence to JBL fans, just my opinion.Haven't tested the water resistant property of this speaker as I don't intend to take it to the beach or swimming pool anytime soon. This has become my main speaker now as I can carry it around enjoying the sweet music. My gripe with it will be the controls on the top are hard to see in the dark. A panel to illuminate them would have been a good solution. Lack of battery indicator like they have in soundcore boost. But overall I love it and if you are looking for a speaker under £100, this is the best one yet and if you can grab one in a deal like I did, Bob's your uncle!.Update: Battery does not hold charge for long.ie, if you fully charge today and not use the speaker for 1 week it will be dead!!

I must have read and looked at dozens of reviews of various makes.1. Build Qualitya. The over build is greatb. The main external material has a nice rubbery feel which gives you confidence when moving it around.c. There is a rubber bung covering up the connections to keep them dry in a down pour.d. The speaker has really good weight so does vibra on any surface it’s sat.2. Sound Qualitya. The sound this smallish speaker gives is quite unbelievable, it’s a real room filler and also sounds great out in the garden.b. It gives a good high, mid and bass in very good balance for a wide variety of music genres.c. The speaker goes very loud and doesn’t distort at all.3. Connectivitya.Bluetooth 5.0 which never drops out even if the source is the other end of my home.b. 3.5 mini jack to connect a variety of different gadgets new and old, most devices are loosing these now.c. USB type C connector for charging.d. Best feature to me is there isn’t Google Assist, Alexa, Siri, or any other voice activation. It’s just a great speaker.e. You can connect two of these speakers to the same Bluetooth source for what must be a massive sound(not tried yet)4. Battery Lifea. Charge last all day with plenty left, charges quickly, what more do you want.Summary, this is a top notch sub £100 portable speaker without voice activation! Whoever puts a bad review on this speaker, straight up has no clue what they are talking about. They generally has an old phone or don't have half a brain to figure out how to connect a simple bluetooth device properly.Anker supply you with the app which gives you firmware updates, volume control, power control and even equaliser settings. Out the box the speaker does sound a little flat and the standard presets are pretty boring honestly. But with the chance to customise your own Equaliser settings, you can get a speaker that sounds like a miniature HIFi unit, the sound stage is huge for it's size and demolish's all competition right up to the £200 mark. You'd be a fool to believe alot of these average Joe's,that have no clue about audio. I don't care what speaker you give me, even if it's over £1000 if I can make it sound significantly better with an equalizer, then yes I'm going to use it despite how good it is.If you get this speaker then play around with it, find the right settings for you and if there is an unfortunate issue such as a rattle or difficulty with the speaker, then just contact Anker they are very friendly and will help with an exchange or go through some troubleshooting with you.You can't expect this speaker to be 100% perfect like alot of these morons believe it to be. Despite what anyone says, it's hands down the best speaker in this price range.

Believe all the 5 star reviews about these speakers, I have had anker products before and they never fail to impress. The last anker speaker I bought is still going strong after 2 and a half years, it is only a small one just for a bit of noise for the wife while she is in the kitchen, anyway, I was keen to get myself a high end bluetooth speaker and spent hours on youtube watching reviews. This speaker kept cropping up and blowing away much more expensive units.....Sony, Bose, JBL charge, UE megaboom et al, so I decided that seeing as it was by Anker I would give it a spin, got on to Amazon and they were on offer for £79.99, a saving of £20......bought two....WOW, WOW, WOW £160 for TWO of these, having now listened to them first hand, I would have happily paid £160+ for one. The sound right across the spectrum is superb, super bass and a companion app to customize your own listening preferences, you want loud? You got loud, careful, this thing will lift your roof off if you are not careful, Full volume and no distortion, you have to hear it to believe it. Don't misunderstand me, this sounds gorgeous at any volume, just do yourself a favour, stop reading these reviews right now, click add to basket and prepare for audio heaven. Anyway, I can't sit here all day, I got some serious music to play on my new found pride and joy. Thank you Anker.... Thank you very much.

Bought this to replace my impressive Anker 3143 20W speaker as it is now 4 years old and the battery is starting to fail.I bought a competitors speaker based on very favourable reviews but was kicking myself as the sound quality was to say the least very poor, so back it went and the search was on once again.I was back to looking at Anker once again as I have several of their smaller bluetooth speakers, earbuds, and various sized portable powerbank chargers.I looked at the Soundcore Motion + 30W speaker as it seemed to tick all my boxes and a bonus was the fact you had access to an Anker app that can set the equalizer and perform speaker firmware updates. This really appealed to me also knowing the sound from my existing speakers is very good.I bauked at the £100 + price but put it on my watch list. When I noticed a 3% off plus a 35% discount voucher offer I immediately ordered this speaker as at that price it was a no brainer.Had it a few day now and I'm very impressed.I've set the equaliser to CUSTOM settings and the sound is great. The speaker has a heavy feel and is really well made and looks very impressive. Can't comment on the battery life as yet but based on my Anker experience it will be fairly accurate.I'm once, again a very happy Anker customer.... We'll done Anker?

First off, the sound and build quality of this speaker is great, I love the minimal Anker design and I have owned a Soundcore Boost in the past and would recommend it to everybody as a excellent mid-lower budget speaker choice. This as an upgrade seemed perfect at first, and well worth the money, but it has started to make a loud hissing noise when it turns on which will not go away and only becomes less noticeable at higher volumes. unfortunately this makes this speaker a no go and I cant recommend it to anybody from my personal experience. I may just have a factory defect but this is a big disappointmentEDIT : The customer service got back to me instantly and offered a brand new speaker at no extra cost without having to return my faulty one,but did ask for the serial code on the faulty one, which shows to me they care about their quality control and production processes. The delivery arrived fast and does not have the defect I explained here, so I will boost the score up to 4 stars because this customer service is the best customer service I have ever experienced. If it begins to have the same noise problem as the last one, I will update my review, but I have to say I am very impressed with Anker and they have not lost my confidence as a consumer.

Awesome product, sound, and build quality. "Sound effin Core". A little heavy in the hands for some, maybe, but this shows the build material quality! I bring it with me mostly everywhere even while cycling! People in Cars will be looking at you like, where is that beautiful sound coming from! and why is that so loud! lolSome key points below:It comes with a base sound output, that can then be changed to the end-users taste, depending on their sound preferences. (All users do not hear frequencies the same so its good to get that option - lesson 101).The Bass and db output from that small piece of Equipment!! I cannot use it to full power as my housemate complained about noise!Do tweak the Equaliser!I got Higher Bass out of it than the pre-button Bass.I watch movies on it via Bluetooth, Laptop > HDMI TV which is also connected to my phone via dual Bluetooth so I can control the volume and equalizer!Options are still available on Windows 10 (my OS) where environmental variables can be set with further effects but I prefer the Equaliser App!!May get some fingerprint marks after some use, but hey, feel free to wash it in the sink! Its IPX7Planning to Buy a second one for linking and trying the surround for movies and parties!

First off I'll say if you're looking for a good quality BT speaker for the garden, kitchen or frankly anywhere. Stop, you've found it.The sound quality is phenomenal for the size of the device, which makes sense as they've managed to fit 2 tweeters, 2 mid drivers and a bass radiator in there.Unlike others in this category that would have you believe bass equals quality, the Motion+ can represent the lows/miss and highs individually and it separates them all beautifully over a very wide sound stage, afforded mainly by the tweeters being on the corners. Don't get me wrong though for it's size it can thump pretty well, but it never drops detail in doing so.Download the application, set it to Custom EQ and play with the settings, there's lots of examples on Google to help you. Worth doing as I personally have the Bass Up feature off and run my own settings.Build quality seems excellent, reassuringly heavy.I spoke of the size earlier in the review, but I was surprised by how big the device is, it's definitely not small compared to other speakers I've had in the past. That being said its shape means it is highly portable in a back pack for a weekend etc.Very happy with the purchase.

I had not heard this before buying, but I have been impressed with all the other anker equipment I brought especially power banks, so I knew the battery/charger would be good in the speaker. There connectivity is good with smart devices I own of there’s so I was confident their Bluetooth tech would be good.A friend owned the smaller older version of it and it sounded good. This version motion+ is seriously good.It drops when playing dance/DnB in a room and fills the garden and a mates workshop no problem.I been listening to some of the classics pink Floyd, eagles T Petty and they as good as I’ve heard them sound. Rich deep sharp and if it’s too deep turn off the extra bass or change the setting using there app.The app works great,I like to play with the levels but you don’t need to use it, but I’ve been buying stereo equipment for 35 years and love to twiddling the knobs. Two friends have heard it, one brought one there and then the other saved it in this app to show the missus.I have been using this with youtube/FB via iPhone and hi-res Walkman Nw-a55This is my first ever review and I might have gone on a bit..Quality speaker highly recommended
