Pros: Plenty of character choices, fun strategic fights, customizable characters, solid multiplayer, and pretty graphics.Cons: Collecting all the items requires a lot of patience and a cool head, difficulty often varies from a walk in the park to impossible, and some of the characters are very questionable or annoying (Voldo particularly).First things first, I am not a fighting game enthusiast. In fact, I tend to avoid them. This is mostly because I don't like losing, so I get stuck in a perpetual lose-lose scenario. I don't play them because I lose, and I lose because I don't play them... This game is really fun, as are all the SC games.The graphics are amazing, but I was underwhelmed by the game play itself. The change from 3 to 4 involved removing certain game types (that were kind of fun), removing move sets from the old custom characters (some of them were cool), and doing very little to change the characters and their moves. I found a lot of the move changes in 4 to feel half hearted, many characters had most of the same moves from 3, with minor changes.Overall, it is a good game and I am a SC fan, but I was underwhelmed by it. The graphics seemed to take most of the focus, which while cool are less important than the game play to me.If you liked SC2 or SC3 then you will like SC4,

Having had the previous two Soul Calibur games for ps2, I expected it to be more or less the same game with some minor tweaks. The character creation is much more in depth than in previous games, with weapon and armor effects making for some interesting combinations. The new critical finish system is an interesting addition, however, I rarely use it. From what I've played online, it seems to work pretty well, with only minor lag that rarely affected anything. The story mode is your standard Soul Calibur story mode, pick a character, fight about five battles, and it's over. The Tower of Lost Souls mode is also a good addition, despite being somewhat frustrating at times. All in all,

This is was the only entry in the SC series that I hadn't played. With COVID pandemic going on, it gave me the opportunity to play this game. It was fun catching up with characters like Setsuka, Rock and Yun-Seong, who I hadn't play with since SC3. As always, the create-a-soul was a fun thing to play around with, and I was reminded of some the items I've missed in later Soul Calibur Games (most notably the short-sleeve polo Worker's Shirt). The Star Wars characters were okay; Yoda wasn't as fun to use as I had heard, and his size made playing him difficult. Starkiller was a nice addition, as was the bonus characters. I would love some of them to return to the future games,

The other characters I really don't care much about just Yoda. When I first brought my first Xbox 360 Halo 4 edition this game came to mind. Some of the characters in this game I've seem in soul calibur Broken Destiny. Even though Broken Destiny came out long after soul calibur 4 did. I didn't like Broken Destiny that much but soul calibur 4 I do like. I like playing this game a lot even though I play Yoda most of the time and some time the secret apprentice. All and all the game has solid graphics, smooth sounds, and cool action. It doesn't give the same feel as soul caliber 3 did for me. I still like soulcalibur 3 better than this game but will still play it.

Normally I called it fun as a side game because I got tired of playing Halo Reach 24/7. Well not really 24/7. But it is a fun game and there is so many easy achievements that I have a good 1000 now from the 2 games I have so far. Also If you have a friend you can earn about 650-750 gamerscore from playing this. I played this game for like good 4 weeks and I have most of the achievements. ALso the price I got it for in USED was great and when I received it it came in good shape. Well it will depend on the seller you get it from because some sellers don't have the box for it. I love it and I gave it a 5/5.

This game, like other games from Namco, has amazing graphics. Trust me. If you want to see awesome landscapes and fighting environments, this is your game.About the game, it kind of disappoints me that the single mode has only 4 fights. So you can finish the game in 5 minutes, even in a hard difficulty.You can create your own fighters and use them online. That's an amazing feature.Amazon provided the game in excellent shape, very fast shipping and awesome quality of the product. I recommend the game and definitely buy it here at Amazon !

Really fun if you're going to play with friends, solo play is where the game begins to falter. The customizable character option allows for a ton of fun and, again, playing against or with friends makes this a terrific game. The solo campaign however is laughable and it's kind of depressing you cant have a four player tag team style set-up to bring more friends in on the fun but I'm glad I bought it, especially for the price.

SC took a whole new twist by adding armor that improve or reduce health, attack and defense. Swords now have customized skills which can be change depending on various factors.I love using Astaroth but had always complaint how such a big guy has the same health as small players, that changed from this SC.You don’t have to worry your favorite character leaves the saga, since you can create it from the scratch!

I don't own the XBOX 360 version and I got the PS3 version as a Christmas gift. The game is both challenging, and fun. The DLC items are really nice, they have the helmet armor parts as well as Halloween and Christmas costumes. Ivy, Setsuka and Taki really look lovely in their christmas outfits!!! I would recommend this for guys and gals alike for some serious slashing!

Great birthday present for my grandson who just turned 10. He's played earlier versions and was begging for this one. Surprisingly enough, he didn't want the later versions, (I believe their up to 6), so I got him what he asked for. This is great because later this summer, I can get him the latest versions. Everybody at the party liked this game! It was a big hit.

deffinetly a step up from sc3, the graphics are better, sharper, and more fluid. the game play is pretty much the same, with a couple of new moves for each character. what i love about this is the character creation. kick ass!! been a fan of this game since the 2nd one for ps2, so it's pretty exciting to play this game with friends. deffinetly worth my money!

I bought this for my husband's birthday. He's enjoyed playing it and convincing other people to battle him in versus battles. He loves the customization options for building his own characters. This is a game that can easily be picked up for a few minutes of play or played for an hour or so to unlock new characters and option and to get the storyline.

If you are a soul calibur fan 4 is the game. I was stoked when the said they were going to make a five but the truth is five doesn't live up to 4 so I would suggest that if you want the better game, don't waste your money of five like I did stick with the best of the series....Soul Calibur IV.
