I didn't purchase the old camera, in fact, I've only purchased because it is a requirement for PSVR. I can only really score it based on the easy of setup / how it functions with regards to PSVR and how it compares to the "old" camera. If you are looking for a bargain, I'm sure that you can pick up an older camera at reduced costs now (or even second hand), I was too excited at the prospect of PSVR so bit the bullet and ordered new.So what is different between the old camera and the new? Well basically, it comes down to three things:* Size (width x height x depth) - New: 159mm x 28mm x 28mm, 152 grams. Old: 186mm x 27mm x 27mm, 183 grams.* Stand: Although basic, the new one does allow for some movement/positioning.

There isn't much you can say for this PS Camera. It's the exact same thing as the older one so you're not getting anything extra if you purchase this and already have the older version. The image quality is grainy and the motion tracking is so-so (VR and Non-VR). I guess it does the job it's meant to do (for VR).The clip stand that comes with it sits nicely on a flat table, but was finicky when it came to placing it on my tv (tucking it behind the tv). I have managed to balance it using my the center channel speaker from my surround sound (will try to post pix of this later).I bought this to use with PSVR,

Expensive set up - but excellent. The setup instructions were very good. Setting up was a doddle. I was surprised by the amount of cables but I assume due to performance this can't really be wireless. The Demo CD that came with this did not work correctly until I downloaded some updates. It is sometimes difficult to position this correctly on your head, but once in place you are immersed.There were a couple of games that I was not comfortable with (gave me motion sickness) but the underwater exploration was unbelievable. It is quite and investment but I feel it is worth it as long as new media continues to be created. You can also view 360 Videos on youtube etc.

I'm pleased to say this is much smaller than the quoted product dimensions; it's approximately 16cm (6") long and 3cm (1") high. Presumably the quoted dimensions are for the box. So it's small and light and is hardly noticeable perched on the top of my TV. The included adjustable stand/bracket is easy to use. The included Sony cable is long enough for most (I've plenty of slack atop of my 42" TV). The camera has a lip that sits over the edge of the TV to prevent it falling back - nothing to tighten up or suchlike. 5 stars for being well designed and minimal set up fuss.

I have never owned a Sony camera before until I purchased the Sony VR. I did have the x box one and Kinect same sort of technology. Very easy to set up. Plug it in the back of the PS4. It recognises a few shots of yourself, job done. It's a good camera because you can connect it to the Tv. Not like the x box version were I had to buy an extra item to fit it on the TVs. It's nice and compact a lot smaller than the x box version. Works well with the VR. I have tried the Sony play room thing, unless you have a VR, not sure what else the camera will do.

I originally ordered this for the PS VR headset along with it and the controllers , the camera arrived first. The delivery was very quick. and I had to wait for the Headset and Controller since they were out of stuck at the time of order. I took a few days more to research the PS VR and the existing games and uses it currently has and found out that there are few games, and fewer applications. henceforth I decided to cancel the PS VR order until there a bigger variety of products for it. (camera is still nice for Just Dance games ect..)

I bought this alongside the VR because some of the games that I bought needed the camera. And it really does come in handy for other things as well. The voice recognition part of the camera is really as good as well, it recognises my voice clearly from various positions around the room. I can't really say the same for the Xbox One kinect ever since it got updated to have Cortana.

The products good and needed if you are trying to go down the route PS what you to go. It has a feature to recognize your face to log in, It's never worked. You have to have your room well light, otherwise it won't pick you up. Some games take a lot of adjusting to pick your body up .i.e. Just Dance.They're are the bad bit's, but all in all it's good to have.

I was expecting a bigger camera. My daughter has an Xbox 1 camera and it's a lot bigger and heavier. The PS4 camera is a decent size and very light. Can't fault this at all. This is a gift for my daughters Christmas so won't be able to give feedback until then but I can't see her having any problems playing her games.

Redesign of the original come with a bendable stand which helps. However still has the thick cable so once positioned best to blue tac it down. Its bit smaller lookes better other same as older cam. If you can get the other cam cheaper get that (i sold it a while back but recently got VR....wow)

Easy to set up ! Easy to position on tv onTop of the edge of tv. Safe and secure once you click the camera to the holder.Great value for money !Great addition to PS4.Does take a while for the camera to pick up the avatars onThe screen mirroring but it’s trial and error and we had fun !

Very clear picture quality - so glad I managed to get the newer version for a lower price. Using this with the VR headset and a Tesco deal on the PS4 slim. Shame that there isn't a pan feature on the stand, however you can easily turn it. It would help as I using it next to a XBOX kinetic.

I bought this for my partner as part of a gift and it works well although it can be a little fiddly to get the right height and angle for it to suit different heights although it’s easy enough to move to allow taller and shorter people to get a great VR experience.

Works extremely well. sometimes when something just works straight out of the box , we fail to appreciate how well it does work. this is a prime example. I am extremely pleased at he whole vr experience on playstation and the camera has never had any issues.

Nice and neat, mounts well on top of TV, doesn't look ugly (better looking than older cam) and does the job (with PSVR here!).Only slight quirk is the thick cable and pull it if you mount it low instead of clinging to the top of the TV but you'll live ;)
