Another minor update. So I've recently purchased a new TV, since my old LG had unfortunately broke (cracked screen). That means it is now residing on my wall, directly under my Samsung 55 7500 curved TV. Gone have the soundbar mounting arms, that hanged above my TV. I found my old Sony wall guide, marked the holes and drilled it with my Ryobi impact driver. Still works perfect and is working with no hitches on my 7500 Samsung using the arc function. Smart remote fluidly controls the volume +- and mute and the nifty feature when my TV wakes up the soundbar is not far behind with the ARC function. So a 2019 small update and this soundbar is still going strong,I wasn’t going to come back and edit this review but the overall thumbs ups persuaded me. I initially payed £150 for this and now the price has dropped to around £81 on Amazon and to me that is a stellar bargain for anyone wanting a simple but effective upgrade to their sound. Straight off the bat this will never be a 5.1 or complete surround sound killer. I’ve recently installed mine above my 43 inch 4K TV with a soundbar vesa mount, keep in mind this needs a mount that allows for wall mountable bolts/screws for the TV VESA Mount and you will be golden. Many mounts come with black little bolts but some strong bolts with nuts can solve this as well.—-I can actually hear my movies! Using this in ARC mode on my 43inch 4K LG tv and it has saved me so much hassle in controlling the volume and not searching for a plethora of boxes. Bluetooth works perfectly so I can listen to my music/audiobook playlist. The first film I watched when I set this up was Jurassic Park on Blu-Ray and the sound was so much better than my 43 inch 4K TV speakers by miles. You are in that moment, it’s late but you can’t hear anything being said, you turn it up and you go much better; then WHAM, bomb goes off and your heart drops. No more of that with voice/night mode. Plus the games also benefit and too I can hear the actual voices.Even low sounding films like Dark was the night was vastly improved. I had an old Bose solo tv base and sadly the sound has been lacking for years and one of the worst purchases I made, so I set myself a budget and wanted the bass inside the speaker as I didn’t want a sub woofer on the floor to be kicked around or annoy my neighbours as they make a right racket. This just fits me perfectly, it will never beat a true surround setup, but it’s easy to use. Simple setup and no long wires for 5.1/7.1 setups.

This Sony HT-SF150 Soundbar is a simple solution if you want to improve the sound from your flat-screen TV. Connectivity is rather limited, but OK for it's purpose, with just a single HDMI port, an optical-in and a USB port – but other devices can be easily connected via Bluetooth. If your TV is fairly modern it will probably have an ARC-enabled HDMI port, if it does you must use that one to connect to this soundbar or you will not be able to hear anything from it. If you have an older TV, or have something else connected to your TV's ARC-enabled HDMI port, then you will need to use the optical TOS Link instead – an optical cable is provided for this purpose. If your TV has neither ARC nor optical-out then you will not be able to use this soundbar with it. This HT-SF150 is a slim single-unit soundbar that does not come with a separate sub-woofer so the bass is comparatively light – if you like a bit of deep audio oomph with your films and music then this is probably not the model for you, but if you just want to hear the TV sound a bit more clearly then this speaker will be fine. For simplicity this soundbar can be placed in front of your TV, on a shelf below it in a cabinet, or it can also be wall-mounted below your TV if you want to use it in that type of configuration. Sony's S-Force virtual surround sound technology works fairly well – but better with some material than others - and the bass reflex system is OK for the unit's size. The Bluetooth connectivity is useful and saves having to find another speaker to play music from your phone or tablet when indoors – something you will probably use regularly. This new model from Sony is currently around one hundred and forty pounds from Amazon making it reasonable value for the features and build-quality and it is bound to suit many users looking for a simple TV audio solution – bass-lovers may want to spend a little extra on something a bit more substantial.

I’m very happy with this soundbar. There were two features that where important to me. The first is pretty obvious, I wanted it to provide a nice rich sound for my tv as the inbuilt speakers are completely rubbish. I can tell you that I was not disappointed, it sounds great and has completely transformed the viewing experience and enjoyment. Also the bass isn’t too overpowering, it just provides the sound that you would like to hear from your telly straight out of the box if that were possible. The other feature that was important to me was that I wanted it to power up and power down when the tv is switched on or off. I should mention at this point that my tv is a Sony and I connected it with an hdmi cable only which is not provided in the box.Full marks here as well. After connection I switched on the tv and the sound bar powered up automatically, also the tv automatically switched itself to external speaker so I didn’t need to do anything and I do not need to muck about with yet another remote control just to watch tv.I would definitely recommend this to anyone.

Got this soundbar since the sound on my new Sony Bravia TV was so thin. The soundbar has two tweeters and two woofers and a bassport on the backside. It is one of the cheapest quality soundbar that I could find. I am more than happy with this soundbar. The sound is 100 times better than on my TV. The voices are really clear and distinct. And the volume can get loud enough. You will not get deep punchy bass, but the bass that is there, is more than enough for me. The soundbar also looks great. I connected it via optical link without any problem since I used up all the HDMI-port on the TV. There are only 6 diffferent preselect soundmodes that can be selected.I actually found the night mode in "off" setting to deliver the best punch from the soundbar. If you dont want to spend a fortune on a soundbar, and just want better sound from your TV, this little jewel will probably be just right for you.

This is a decent step up in quality from the Sony 4K TV’s standard sound but power is limited if using in a large room. Bass response is also not greatbeing a 2.0 setup with only pre-set sounds rather than individual bass and treble settings. I would have preferred a digital display but the unit relies on 3 LED lights to indicate settings. The biggest issue for me, however, was that when hooked up to a TV and using output from a SKY Q receiver, this produced a very noticeable and unacceptable echo delay between sound from the TV and that from the soundbar. Turning down the TV volume solved it but with a slight lip synch issue and muting the TV also muted the soundbar. After researching, the solution lay in connecting the Q box direct to the soundbar, by-passing the TV but that does mean no soundbar when watching Freeview as opposed to SKY.

This was a whimsical purchase based on the fact that it was refurbished. I have always had a fear of dodgy seconds and cast offs etc. No fear, this piece of kit from Argos was pristine. Zero flaws in original box with all accessories and less than half price. The soundbar itself is easy to set up and operate. Great sound with plenty of oomph if needed. Makes the TV speakers seem inadequate. Of course, they were. I've tried several other brands but this is the best so far. There is enough bass for me, I don't need the floor shaking of an external subwoofer so this is ideal. 90cm wide looks great under the tv. With near zero lights to distract (and they can be muted)it just gives out sound and improves the viewing experience. Now I'll just need to wait and see what the reliability is like.

Bought this to go with my new 49inch Sony Bravia TV as the sound isn’t great on it. My living room is relatively small so 120W of power is more than enough. The product feels well made and Sony-quality. It comes with an optical cable but after reading other reviews on here it seemed best I connect using a HDMI cable instead. *HDMI CABLE is NOT supplied* which I think is a bit cheeky of them, luckily I had a spare at home (make sure it is ARC grade).Sound quality is very good, better than the TV and its also nice to connect via bluetooth and play music off my iPhone.Comes with its own remote (and batteries)but if you connect using a HDMI cable then you can control it using the TV/SKY remote.I got the item in Christmas sale and I’m very happy with it.

I bought this sound bar to complement by Sony Bravia TV. Having read the write ups, I purchased a HDMI cable so that the TV remote would control both units. Having carefully followed the instructions, no matter what I tried I could not get any sound out of the sound bar. After some hours, I discovered an instruction in the TV manual which stated that the Bravia Sync mode should be enabled. The sound bar immediately started working. There is no mention of this in the sound bar's manual! The sound is much improved from the TV speakers with clearer speech and better sound all round. I gave it 4 stars because of the missing instruction.

Bought this unit approx two weeks ago. Initial setup was easy to a new Samsung TV, (looked a comparable Sony but concluded that the Samsung was better value for the picture quality). However, after a few days connection to the Samsung dropped out and attempts to reconnect failed. My Sky box also disconnected from the Samsung. Finally after clearing all settings on the TV managed to connect all devices. All is working fineOverall conclusion is that the Sony HT-SF150 is a good entry point for those initially buying a sound bar. Sound covers the room well, design is good as it fits underneath the tv, connection is easy.

I have been using this soundbar for 3 weeks and I have to say I am truly impressed with the sound and particularly with the setup and the bluetooth pairing. I am using bluetooth on a regular base with a lot of different devices and I have rarely seen such good and quick pairing. Especially switching from one device to another is perfectly easy. I also appreciate the different sound options that the product offers, depending on what kind of sound you are listening to. Watching a movie at home has never been such an immersive experience. Greatly recommend this product. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Excellent soundbar for the price, obviously not Sonos quality (£700 +) but still very good. Very Slick . Set up is easy. You do need to make sure you change your TV settings setup to pick up up the new device attached via HDMI Arc. Most TVs it is settings>system >HDMI & CEC Function. Then select find devices and it will appear.I saw a lot of problems online with the above connecting, countless forums so thought I’d stick it on here if I can ease at least one persons pain!Overall very happy

Pretty nice for the low price you pay, it has HDMI IN for audio if your TV Supports it, 1 TOSLINK port, bluetooth and a USB port for playing music off a, well, USB..The sound is fantastic, the bass is great for such a small form factor and am generally happy. The only Issue I found with it is that the bluetooth turns off automatically after about an hour, this can be rather annoying when playing music from your phone. We just end up playing music from my phone to our Fire TV instead.

Purchased as a Christmas present for my father in law, it has transformed watching TV. With it's different modes, cinema, music, voice, night etc you can select the best setting for what you are watching, films feel like you are at the cinema, football has more vibrancy, voice mode is great for a drama where the characters seem to whisper (which I am sure they all do these days) and night mode lessens the base so you can stay up late and not disturb those who are asleep. Great purchase.

I researched soundbars heavily beforehand and nearly got sucked into paying a lot for a speaker. This soundbar is at the budget end of Sony’s range, but is 100 times better than the Sony TV speakers on their own. I could have purchased the model with a wireless sub, but it really isn’t necessary unless you’re after a true “cinema” experience.I mounted on the wall under my TV, and it was easy to mount (template provided), and easy to setup via both HDMI or Optical.Very pleased...

We bought a new tv a little while back and had been feeling the depth of sound left a lot to be desired, we’d be constantly turning the sound up or down when watching something.I decided to try a sound bar and settled on this one largely because of reviews and have been really impressed. The sound quality and different modes mean it’s an instant improvement. I barely need to touch the sound now if watching a film and the difference in sound has been very noticeable when playing games.
