Arrived today in the post and quite glad that I got it for £25 (I had the last 1 in stock from Amazon so it said on the site when I ordered) and now it's bumped up to £36.I firstly pre-ordered the 3rd Party Docking Station which arrived on day of release but turned out to be a bit of plastic so quickly questioned amazon about a refund which they did within a day and then I bought this which actually does what it says. The design is small, compact and basic, blends in nicely with my PS4 and Sony TV as well as keeps my gaming set-up tidy. Really like the idea of it being powered by the mains instead of through the PS4 as then I don't have supply power through the PS4 just to charge my controllers as if it was,I would of preferred to just buy another charging cable. It's very simple, you just place your controller into each docking section and the pressure pad connects, lowers and starts charges the controller, when you pick up the controller you don't have to wiggle it about or anything, the pressure pad just lets go and disconnects automatically.1 thought I had though is they should of made it have a light around the base (similar to the PS4's light to notify it's alive) but only a thought - they controllers light up anyways to let you know they are charging but it would of been a nice addition to make it stand out with the PS4.Overall, if you have 2+ Controllers I'd advise you to get 1 of these but £25 is the max it's worth.

Having read all of the positive reviews of this product, I decided to purchase one for myself.Upon receiving the item, the packaging was of a great quality, so you can rest assured your purchase will be impervious to your regular handling during dispatch, transit and delivery. The unit itself is of a very high quality and compliments the PS4 in many ways. It feels heavy and robust, and the design is great, holding the controllers perfectly. It will take a few attempts to get used to seating the controllers in the station, but eventually, placing the controllers in their respective points becomes second nature. The charging station runs off it's own power supply,so there is no need for plugging cables from the station to the PS4, so the console can be powered down independently of the charging station. Another nice feature will see the controller light up when charging occurs, and when the cycle has been completed, the controller powers down to retain its charge. In conclusion, this is a product you should definitely purchase given the great design, build quality, and functionality. Yes, there are other, cheaper, products to consider; however, based on my review and the others on Amazon, this should be sufficient evidence of this great product and the justification of the price tag it carries.

It charges my controller just fine. No complaints there.EDIT: I have just (Sept 15) bought the new mat black PS4 which obviously comes with a new controller and everything works perfect. I originally scored this 2 out of 5 but have now upped it to a four. This reason why it was originally 2 out of 5 is still written below and applies if you have an early model PS4 that suffered from a problem with the pads:"By the way my controller works perfectly and I have been charging it with a cable for the past six months without any issues. However I left my controller on the charging station but turned the charging station off at the mains just as I do with my Wii U charging dock once the pad is fully charged.Yeah yeah I know it is allegedly safe to leave the pad on the station and the station turned on at the socket but I like to turn it off anyway because hey I don't trust batteries when I am leaving the house empty all day.So I tried to turn the pad on a day or so later and it was absolutely stone cold dead.It was as if the charging station had completely drained the life out of the battery once I had switched it off at the wall. Doesn't seem to be a problem if I keep the station switched on. Seems dumb to me. Even Nintendo, the masters of disaster haven't made that mistake."

I originally bought this as I don't like having cables on a 'wireless' controller to have to keep them charged. The USB cable that Sony supply, most people will agree with me they are much too short, especially if you have to sit quite far from your PS4 and can only charge your controller while your PlayStation is on or in rest mode. This dock eliminated those problems. It plugs straight into the mains socket so it's 'always on' and ready to charge without having to do anything else.It can hold two PS4 controllers and charge them at the same time, and when each individual controller is charged, it automatically stops charging, ready for your next gaming session! When you place the controller onto to dock for the first few times then it is a little bit fiddly until you get used to it. Once in the dock, the light bar on the controller illuminates a yellow/orange colour that slowly pulses while the charging is in process. Once charged the light goes out.By charging your controllers this way, I have found that I have never had to use the USB cable since as I know the controller is always fully charged when I take it off the dock.Overall, a very useful product to have and for around the £20 mark, a much better option than longer leads trailing all over the room

My review of the Sony DualShock 4 Charging StationThis is a sturdy piece of kit that has clearly been well built as you can feel the quality of the product. It is a simple yet smart design that looks at hoe beside my PS4. I bought this as everyone knows the battery life of the PS4 controllers are not overly impressive so I wanted something to keep my two controllers charged when I was not using them so I did not have to worry about running out of charge when I wanted to play for a good few hours. This is very straight forward to use as you simply set your controller on the device and it begins to charge instantly. The great thing about this is that once the controllers are charged the lightbar turns off so that you know the controller is no longer being charged and to protect the battery within the controller. There isn't much more to say about this product as it does what it says on the tin, I couldn't be happier with it as I have had other cheaper products that are supposed to do the same thing but this is the real deal. It is well worth the investment. 10/10 would recommend, it is worth the price.

This is a great, well made charger for your dualshock 4's.To connect them you just place them gently on the cradle then push down and they click nicely into place. It also charges the pads very efficiently as it can be plugged into a mains. About 30 mins I counted to charge two pads.It knows when the pad is fully charged so unlike cheaper chargers it won't knacker the batteries through over charging.I made the mistake of buying a cheap one off a certain auction site first and the heavy handed idiots I share a house with scratched the heck out of my blue controller trying to slot it the pads into the jagged little micro usb slots. If you want to save money, make do with a cable. If you want a tidy hassle free and fast way to charge your pads don't bother with the cheap stuff.Would have given 5 stars if it was slightly cheaper. 15 pounds would be a more reasonable price but I am still very happy with the purchase!

As brilliant as the new dualshock 4 controller is, you're gonna need to charge it regularly. You can charge it using the PS4's supplied USB cable, but this official charging station offers a much more elegant solution. Simply plug it into a mains socket and then click the controllers in place.I measured the power usage and it draws 4 watts when charging one controller or 8 watts when charging two controllers, which is fine. A great feature is that you don't need to unplug the controllers once they are fully charged, because the charger goes into standby and stops drawing any power. My meter showed that the charger draws less than a watt in standby. This charging station is a sturdy and well made unit, and my only criticism is that when you drop the controllers into place you have to jiggle them a little to make them click in. But this is a minor criticism of an otherwise superb product. Highly recommended!

I had this on order for quite a while and it was awaiting stock. In the interim, I was half-tempted to buy a third party charging station as the DS4's battery drains much quicker than the DS3 so you are constantly recharging your controllers. However, I held tight and I was glad I did. Sony are not playing around this generation. The console was presented excellently when I first received that and this was no different. The item was packaged in a really compact way and it was pleasure unwrapping everything. Now, the item sits atop my table and I just leave it plugged in. When the controller has finished charging the station goes into a standby mode of sorts.I was really happy with the quality of the product and it is a really sturdy, weighty, well-made device.Thoroughly recommend this product to anyone and would advise to get this item in lieu of any third party alternative. Five smackeroonies *****

The dualshock 4 controller is fantastic, as has been said by countless others. However, from experience, the battery life is significantly less than that of the previous dualshock 3. This charging dock therefore comes in very handy, ensuring your controller/s are always fully charged and ready to use. The dock comes very neatly packaged, and looks and feels like a high quality product, fitting very well alongside the PS4 aesthetically, and ensuring a very clean and tidy gaming setup. The dualshock 4 controllers slot in very easily, and an orange light indicates that they are charging. Once charged, the power supply switches off. Another advantage is the use of mains power, rather than needing a USB link with the PS4. 4 stars rather than 5 for me simply because it is rather pricey. Nevertheless, highly recommended and worth paying the extra money to have the official product in my opinion. Happy gaming!

Do you have two controllers? You need to buy this product!I have one on charge whilst using the other and when one is down i can swap to the other with no issues. The controllers charge from the bottom (not usb) and the light bar will glow at a fast or slow speed depending on how much charge is left. When the controller is fully charged, the light bar will turn off and the charging will suspend which means the controller will not be over charged like some cheap ones might do.I have always had a thing about stuff been charged and still shows charging at 100%.So a cable plugs into the wall with a little power pack on the other end and a cable from the unit goes into the power pack and that isit. Please ignore the 1 star review on the price! The company mentioned is selling it at the same price and the only cheaper one is the 4gamers unit which i would not recommend.

This is an absolute MUST have for any PS4 owner out there. You already know that with the PS4 you must have the system turned on to be able to charge your pads. If the PS4 is off, your connected pad will not charge. Now this may work for some but for real gamers out there it doesn't, for the simple fact that usually when your playing a game your pad has enough charge, by the time you finish the game the pad has drained and when your finished you switch off the PS4, so the next time you come to play a game, the pad is out of juice and you have to connect it using the wire, and since were not in 1995 we prefer to play using the pads how they were intended, wirelessly! This is where this little beauty comes in.First of all, it uses up no USB ports on your PS4 and plugs in to the mains socket, which is great. I for one use one USB port for my

I paid an extra £5 for the unit through an Amazon seller (didn't mind though as stock of these is incredibly scarce!). A very elegant bit of kit and as you would expect complements the PS4 design language perfectly. I don't know why one or two users have complained about the weight... it's not designed to carried around! Also it means that when you lift the controllers out, that's the only thing that lifts!Given the poor battery life of the DS4 controllers, I'd say this is a must. By all means, go with a cheaper option (or even plug your ds4 into the wall) but personally, I'd always go with the official version (as anyone who ever used 3rd party memory cards for the PS1 back in the day will know!)Finally, it looks absolutely mint having your DS4 controllers propped up the right way next to your shiny (and matte!) new console.

This is great for displaying your controller, letting it charge and somewhere safe for your controller to seat. The only issue i have with this is i wish it had an easier locator for the charger. The connector has a 30-45 degree movement axis, this becomes very annoying when you are trying to just locate the controller into the seat in a rush and it keeps moving and not actually seating correctly, most times i have to look at the base and the controller and line them up, i would have much preferred a rigid locator with a better locator for easier seating.Pros:- Controller safely seated in a nice stand- Controller charging, you don't have to worry about coming to game and having no battery.- Small and sleek.Cons:- Locating the controller can be a little annoying if not put in the exact way.

At first I wasn't sure whether to purchase the official charger stand or a cheaper one from Orb, especially as I could not find it in stock anywhere for about 6 months. After some patience I bit the bullet and took the hit, but I am so glad I did. This charging dock is worth every penny. It's aesthetically pleasing next to your PS4 and T.V. It's also very sturdy without being overtly bulky, seep rate cable with plug means you can plug it in anywhere in the room. It charges 2 controllers simultaneously and then will stop once controller is fully charged avoiding battery burnout. I think the PS4 Dualshock controllers have decent battery life and having two is very useful especially with this charging dock.Don't bother with anything else. Get this one. 5 stars easily.

The charging station works exactly as you'd expect as an official Sony product. It only works properly with Sony dualshock controllers, as there's not a huge amount of wiggle room for oversized anything. As a result, it takes a bit of a knack to actually get the controller in properly, but once it's in, the controller is staying put.Would recommend having one alongside a USB cable, as obviously EXT-port charging does seem to switch off the controller as well.If you have a 3rd party controller, this will NOT work, as most have the wrong shape, or are even missing the EXT-port altogether.Same thing as well if you have a permanently connected mini-keyboard in there, it's the same port it uses,so you'll need to disconnect that as well to charge through here.
