1. Why would you want this?This is difficult thing to rate. It should be considered a near-essential purchase because using a USB cable into your camera isn't so practical, especially when you want to leave a battery charging and go off using the camera for it's intended purpose. Furthermore I'd always be concerned a tethered $1000 camera on a USB cable could get accidentally knocked off the table. I'd rather just swap batteries.2. PerformanceI feel this charger is designed to deliberately perform a slow-charge. This charger is stated to take up to 220 minutes (i.e. three hours 40 minutes!!) to charge the battery. From what I understand, some chemistry batteries are healthier when the charge time is close to '1C'

Bought this along with a genuine spare battery to take on a 2 week holiday to Peru. The battery life on my A6000 is not great so I was concerned that I needed a reliable way to maintain power. Charger is fast and served me well with no problems. Particularly useful if you are moving around frequently and charging opportunities few. Whilst this may be more expensive than other alternatives I would recommend it based on my experience.

Received it really quick on free shipping even on an Isolated island! Great product, love the LEDs showing the charging progress, much more affordable than the battery itself! Plus its an authentic charger from Sony! At this price they could easily include it in their camera package like the A7 flagship models as they come at a high price :S! Nonetheless still a great product! Love it :D!

This is a must if you use the Sony RX10 II which only comes with in-camera charging. If you travel with the camera (and it's ideal for that IMHO) you'll need a second battery and this charger is the best way to charge the batteries while allowing you to use the camera. It has never given me a moment's trouble. An essential item if you travel with a second battery.

Great charger:primary reason for purchase was to have 2 batteries and be able to charge one without having to tie-up the camera whilst recharging the spare battery.Only snag is the charging time is about the same as charging the battery in the camera, I was hoping for a faster charge.

Does what it says. Battery is quite a tight fit but not a problem. Good quality finish. Why Sony can't include a separate charger with the camera is beyond me, especially at the rate the A7 depletes a full charge!

As I keep at least one battery fully charged and ready for use I required an easy means to do so. Compact unit but a bit on the pricey side, but all camera battery chargers suffer the same way.

seems to be working fine charging both my original and 3rd party batteries, also faster than doing it via the camera - ideally this should have been included with the e-mount cameras

A fantastic purchase.The charger improves charging time to 1.75 hours, instead of 5.25 hours using the usb charger.I use it for batteries for my RX10.Recommended.

With cameras and batteries being so expensive, paying a little extra to have them properly supported with the right charger only seems logical. Works as it should

Neat compact design works efficiently would recommend using charger as apposed to usb cable as you can boost the charge making it more practical.

Excellent product, essential if you have more than one battery, so you can charge one in the camera and one in the charger at the same time.

Wish this came with my a6000 hence only 4 stars.I don't like charging through my camera in case I need it.great product with no problems.

Very useful, considering Sony does not give charger with the a7ii and I do not want to charge my batteries plugging the camera in.

This is far better than charging the battery inside the camera using a USB cable, which in the Sony RX10 Mk IV takes ages.
