The previous reviwer mentioned the Gore but this can be turned off. There is, in my opinion, no point in doing this, it's part of the game.It has a good story led theme and although at some thimes can get a bit silly it has something that most FPS's don't have:- When you throw a Knife at an enemy they grab their arm and scream, notably with the knife visible in them. You can then (assuming there is only one) walk up and slah him to death if you wish.Another thing (along the same theme) and admittedly very funny is looking round a corner, shooting someone in the foot and watching them scream and hop about on one foot.This i feel is realism, too many games (Delta Force Land Warrior for instance)you can kill someone with a long range shot to the leg. This makes SOF more realistic in my opinion.Conversly while the developers did that, they also missed the same thing in other apsects of the game. For Example you can walk up to a guard on a metal floor and slash him 3 or 4 timesin the back without him once turning round and shooting you. In any of the Thief games the guard would have heard you before you got within 6 yards, and shot you full of holes.This is my only critisism of this enjoyable game. I don't feel SOFII adds anything to the first but it is still enjoyable

Despite the main character having a name similar to a weird geography teacher the game does not fail to impress...SOF is definately an enjoyable game, killing countless enemies usually is, but is it any less good by the huge amount of blood and guts. The gameplay is smooth and very rarely interrupted. For its time the graphics pushed its engine toits limits. However some people may say the huge amount of gore restrict gameplay.I Don't. I think the gore adds to the atmopshere and proves it's graphical prowess.Towards the end, like most FPS the gameplay deterioates due to the shooting getting repetitive.But If you overlook this minor imperfection and some suspect progamming errors about being able to complete a mission if you kill "certain" civillians than this is a great game.CAUTION ADVISED extreme gore!

This is a real treat of a game if you like FPS, although a bit dated now.The single play is enjoyable and challenging enough, but where this game shines is in the huge online comunity. There are thousands of servers and hundreds of Clans. Something for everyones skill level.So for a gorefest to rival anything online buy this an get stuck in!
