When I bought our sodastream carbonator, I chose a bottle with stainless steel cap and base. Unfortunately, the stainless steel has just been glued on to plastic caps, which have been glued to the bottle (or screwed on in the case of the top). The plastic caps work a treat. The stainless steel however, does not stay glued on. And once that has come away, you are left with a working, but very scruffy looking bottle. Also, you may find that one bottle is not enough. Hence replacing it with this due. Great. Look good, do not fall apart, and it allows you to prepare a second bottle before the first one is completely empty. Which sounds very obvious, but is a true advantage once you start using a Sodastream.

I have to agree with the previous reviewer that the price seems steep for two empty plastic bottles. I imagine they have to undergo more expensive quality checks than your average bottle, but still...On the other hand, what these are, are rather robust 1L bottles which are both air and water tight... and since buying these as spares for my Sodastream I find that their properties make them perfect for storing other liquids too, so much so that I may have to buy more!
