Sniper Elite 3 on Xbox 360 was an awesome game, on Xbox One it is even better with added graphical detail. With the Ultimate Edition you are getting added DLC included on the disk for the most complete version yet. To any fan this is a must buy and when you work out the cost of buying all the dlc included separately you realise this "ultimate edition" is very good value too!We all remember how it was in Sniper Elite V2, you're there crouched behind a wall holding your breath looking down a sniper scope and deciding the fate of your chosen opponent, which was the nazi standing 200 yards down the road or looking out of a window.Often there would be more than one and part of the fun was deciding which to take down first and whether you could use background noise to silence your shot. Before firing you would also make a judgement of where you are going to shoot them i.e. in the head, chest or even testicles. You'd pull the trigger, BANG and we were treated to a slow motion x-ray kill cam in real time and could marvel at the destruction we had brought.Sniper Elite 3 is very much the same as V2 in that regard with the whole x-ray kills being retained and integrated further into the game and trust me when I say you'll never get bored of watching it. Now to tell you what Sniper Elite 3 is and what it's about. This is a third-person based (so you view the character from an over the shoulder perspective) and is a tactically based shooter, stealth is absolutely key in this game so I wouldn't advise you run around guns blazing as you won't last very long, besides the close quarters mechanic just like the last game has been specifically designed to be a bit inaccurate so you only use it as a last resort. The game is based in North Africa during the 2nd world war and you play the part of Karl Fairburne (again) who is a German/American special Sniper. The aim is to take on the Germans yet again and bring as much destruction as possible. There are three modes, you get the single player campaign, Full Co-Op mode and the online multiplayer. The campaign is a total blast, it's fun and more enjoyable than I was expecting and the maps are certainly more open compared to what they were in V2, Length wise the campaign lasts well over 9 hours, even longer depending on what difficulty you select, there are 4 difficulty settings and the difference between the easiest and the hardest are like the difference between chalk and cheese. On easy everything feels very arcade like with very little brain power required to progress, on the hardest difficulty (Authentic) you have to factor in wind, bullet drop and you lose the ability to mark enemy positions and indeed your own position on the map, if you die then you have to restart the level. Many of the weapons remain the same as the last game although there are a few new additions to give you a few more options of how to take enemies out. The famous "Welrod" pistol is fantastic for extremely short range but inaccurate as hell if you're more than 10ft away, so it's best to sneak up to an enemy and pop them off from behind or perform an silent execution. You can pick bodies up and move them into darkened rooms or just out of sight to help keep you hidden especially if there is a passing patrol. Now the AI have the same intelligence as V2, there is a period where they may spot something but are not alerted to your presence and other occasions where I have been spotted while hidden behind a wall. This is an area that needs addressing as on a few occasions it has spoilt gameplay and forced me into restarting the mission. Of course if they detect movement and start to move in your direction you can throw a rock to distract them and hopefully send them a different way. As I said earlier, you can play this game in full co-op mode with a friend and I must say it totally transforms the game into an even more enjoyable shooter. You can position yourselves in different locations and use this as an advantage to pick off enemies at the same time, while maintaining field of vision of each other so you can help protect them if they get spotted. There are also Overwatch and survival modes which can be played with a friend, very much like V2. Multiplayer simply consists of massive maps taken from the campaign and slightly modified. It's tense and edge of the seat stuff!Pros: This takes all the good things from Sniper Elite V2 and builds upon them * X-Ray kill cam is back * Stealthy from start to finish * You require tactical thought * Full Campaign Co-op * lots of different objectives during each mission and the maps are huge * Lots of things to collect * you pick up a lot of stuff including ammo off enemies * Graphics are a big leap forward compared to the 360 version and the audio sounds great * Great value at £26 and the replayability is huge as you can play on your own or with a friend and indeed go about each objective differently * You get to kill Nazis * "No Cross" mode (team deathmatch but the map is split into two with each time on a different side, close quarters combat is therefore stopped and leaves sniping as the only option) * Includes most additional dlc such as new multiplayer maps, added co-op missions and new online modes besides the saving Churchill missions.Cons: The AI do lack intelligence at certain moments especially on lower difficulty settings * The story isn't as fun as V2 (personal opinion) * Just like past versions you can still be spotted through solid objects * I worry that player numbers online will start to drop just like they did in the Xbox 360 version (where it was hard to find an online lobby after the first few weeks)VERDICT: If you liked Sniper Elite V2 then you will love this game, it builds on all the good things but brings a few new things in to keep it interesting, the bonus being that they haven't mucked with things too much (if it isn't broke then don't fix it). If you like Stealthy gameplay, sniping from start to finish and enjoy the thrill of the hunt then this is a game to get. Playing it in co-op with a friend simply takes the experience to the next level. A worthy successor to Sniper Elite V2 and old school fans will love it from start to finish. This Xbox One version of the game looks gorgeous as far as the graphics are concerned so don't let anyone tell you otherwise. I Hope you enjoy it as much as I am, happy hunting!HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

Let me start by thanking Amazon Support - I had pre-ordered the game ages ago, but it somehow got lost. Another copy had been shipped very quickly and I received it a few days later. The reason why I bought this lower budget game is that I'm a big fan of stealth (if a game allows, I always try to finish it unnoticed) and sniping. Getting 2 features in the same game is a real gift to me. And add stereoscopic 3D on top of it (the first 3D game in 3D on PS4 I believe) and you get a pretty-unique experience. I haven't finished the game yet, but I think I've seen enough to rate the product. First of all - it's very interesting to play. You crawl, trying to take out your enemies silently. You break generators so they could produce some loud sounds giving you a chance to use your sniper rifle and staying unnoticed. You blow up trucks by shooting at their engines etc. I'm pretty-sure you can play the game Rambo-style, but I prefer tagging my enemies from the hill and taking them out one-by-one. The famous kill cam is awesome too - you wife/girlfriend might think you're some maniac when you praise those violent kills, but it actually looks great even for person like me - I can't stand blood. Graphics in general is decent - can't say it's really next-gen, but colours are bright and lightning is pretty. But what makes the looks awesome is 3D. It feels like you are there and using the scope is especially satisfying. Night missions in 3D look even better. I strongly suggest you play in 3D if your TV allows it. Another thing that blew me away was loading/saving times - after Assassin's Creed: Unity they are like 50 times faster. I don't think I've seen such quick loading times in years. So, developers really took their time optimising and polishing the game. I also really liked that there are manual saves - I quite often need to run away unexpectedly and it always sucks to lose some progress, but this is not actual in this game. By now you might think that the game is flawless, but I found at least 2 small issues - one being some animations. For example, if you want to knife some lying guy - there is no special animation for this scenario. He will just stand up in like 1/100 second and you'll kill him when you are both standing. Looks like a glitch. Also there are some occasional physics glitches - once I was able to crawl through some wooden box and once I killed one guy in a tent and he just fell through its side. And second issue for me is AI. Can't say it's bad - enemies are quite good at looking for you if you mess it up. However, at least half of them always stand still making it really simple for you to kill them. This is obviously made on purpose, but makes the game really simple in some cases. But I can't say that these small issues make the game noticeably lose some value - it's a very good game for those who like stealth and sniping. I do hope there is the 4th part coming - I'll pre-order it the same day its announced.

Set in 1942 during the desert war of WWII, you once again find yourself filling the boots of SOE sniper Karl Fairburne as he attempts to hunt down and assassinate a high profile German General and stop the development of their latest Wunderwaffen, crawling, sprinting, and climbing your way through eight levels, viewing the battlefield through the lense of your sniper scope, and dropping death on your enemies in silence from hundreds of yards away! The third in the series, and originally released in 2014 for the last generation of consoles, this remastered ultimate edition of the game comes with a fresh lick of paint and with all of the originally DLC included on the disc, including four additional missions that see you attempting to protect Winston Churchill himself , and extra weapons for your arsenal. The classic features of the game continue, such as the X-Ray "kill cam" and the ability to mark targets using your binoculars, the "empty lung" feature that allows you to hit enemies with deadly accuracy, and the ability to protect your back with mines and other traps, and the game for the most part remains similar to it's predecessor. There has been some minor tweaking to the control system to make it more intuitive, as well as the addition of a close combat kill option that was sorely needed in the previous game, the addition of a slightly more realistic method for destroying enemy vehicles, and more detail in the load out section that provides more information on your arsenal and allows you to customise your weapons with different scopes, barrels, butts, and triggers in order to change their performance to suit your personal requirements. Levels are also larger, less linear, and offer much greater freedom of choice with regards to how you meet your objectives. In terms of complaints there's really not much to grumble about here. I did encounter persistent crashing during the first level (although this may have been a problem unique to my disc rather than a problem with the game itself). whilst the range of weapon available is excellent, you're likely to end up using the same two or three rifles because there simply isn't an advantage to using a number of the other - the SVt-40 for example is worse in pretty much every regard than every other rifle. There is the occasional issue with collision detection as shots where you clearly have line of sight fail to hit their target. Finally combat against vehicles is still a little bit unrealistic - with the idea that you could destroy a German tank by shooting it in the engine grill being only slightly less ridiculous than in the previous game which had you destroying them with a single shot to massive, prominent looking, vulnerable fuel tanks.Overall however what you have here is an excellent game that offers hours and hours of game play (about three hours per level if you prioritise stealth), that has aged extremely well and still looks fantastic!9/10

I remember years ago when i got so bored of playing the same games over and over ......Anywhooo! i saw Sniper Elite II game play on Youtube then there was a link to Sniper Elite III the one detailthat caught my attention was the kill cams, really drove me nuts to see it so i purchased Sniper Elite III back then on PS3.When i first played i decided to go Rambo and shoot everyone up so of course i died frequently it drove me insane.I decided to try and attempt to play stealth (which i was never good at on video games) eventually this gametaught me that every move you make and every speed run you do will eventually get you caught out one way or another. The point is i was never really good atstealth games till Sniper Elite III taught me how to stay hidden in the shadowsand use distracting noise effects to muffle my sniper shots.Keeping in mind that this was not only my first stealth but my first FPS game, i got so used to it i never need to tag enemiesjust one shot and your 'Tests' were shot off!And here i am now with the PS4 version a classic!Pros* Excellent sound effects* Excellent visuals* Excellent music* Excellent presentation* Super fun, never gets old* Often leaves you in suspense* Allows you to play how you like (excluding those missions where you have to go stealth)No cons can be listed because the only con i found was A.Is bumping into wallseven still they snap out of it once they see you.

First of all this game lives up to expectations and the extra DLC packed in is worth more than the price of the ultimate edition alone. If you want to see a true 1 star game then go play Rugby 15. Right for starters its a hard game to get to grips to its nothing close to the fire from the hip frenzy that Call of Duty and Battlefield are. This game makes you think about your approach, and gives you different ways to go about your objectives. The sniping is tough in the harder settings but more rewarding.Sadly 'Hunt the Grey Wolf' is not included in the ultimate edition, which is a tad of a let down but then again it doesn't say its included anywhere so you can't moan about being lied to.For£25ish this is a really enjoyable game for people who are willing to be patient and overlook the stereotypical charactersPros:* Great value - £25ish including extra levels* Challenging but engaging and fun* Custom loadouts* Graphics are nice and clean and reasonably detailed*Shooting rangeCons:* No 'Hunt the Grey Wolf' mission, which is currently £6.49 on PSN. For one level. Ouch* AI are very good at spotting you making i. extremely frustrating unless you have a state of complete zen and total silence in which to concentrate* Bad main character development - stereotypical American run n gun tough guy act.Really Rebellion?

This is more than just run and gun game in my opinion, it has exceptional realism and the AI can be brutally intelligent at times. I can find myself spending hours on one segment trying to execute the objectives flawlessly, with minimal unnecessary shooting shooting as possible. Some missions have several chapters such as; reach a location; take out some specific targets; defend the target location from reinforcements.GAMEPLAY:The graphics engine is brilliant and although it might not be exactly battlefield quality it's very close. The texturing is very good and you will certainly be surprised by the impact cut away bullet time shots.MULTIPLAYER:This is very different from the actual game.It has a much faster pace, and understandably some player run and gun like they would in battlefield or call of duty. However these are usually the first to go. Some players are very skilled and you won't even see them coming. One thing I really like is that you are not shown where the shot came from like battlefield, because let's face it, you wouldn't be around to know so why should you just because its a game.MAPS ARE HUGE!The maps are brilliant and give you the opportunity to make some fantastic long range shots with the satisfaction of making the shot.

Firstly, this is a really, really good five star game BUT this disc does not contain the hunt the grey wolf mission and also does not contain 2 or 3 of the weapon packs. If you are buying this version to have the complete version of the game on disc (like I did, having previously bought the standard release when it came out last year) it isnt, which is really annoying and disappointing. I even emailed the developer prior to release to ask about whether the DLC was on the disc and got a positive response, so I'd naturally assumed all of the content would have been included, as that's what logic dictated. It seems completely pointless to leave those dlc packs out. Why not just include them?Seems like the days are gone where a gamer can ever own a complete version of a game on disc, which is very sad. Other than that this is an amazing game, but this release can't be the so called ultimate edition as it's still not complete. I had originally given this version a knee jerk one star rating due to feeling ripped off, but the game is so good I haven't the heart to leave it like that. This is the version of the game to buy if you are looking to get it, just don't expect to have a complete version as there still more to buy on PSN :(

While this is billed as the "ultimate edition", be aware that it actually isn't. There are several DLC packs available on the Xbox Marketplace that do not come installed on this disc, and you do not get free access to the downloadable packs when you install the game either. If these packs were purely cosmetic additions I would say this is not a deal breaker, however the DLC missing is the entire 'Hunt the Grey Wolf' mission, and several weapon packs containing new or upgraded arms. As I'm sure you'll agree, this content is significant, AND was available either when the game initially launched or before this edition of the game was released, so is curiously, maddeningly absent. While this is still cheaper than buying the game and the included DLC seperately, this is essentially misleading advertising, and may well be replaced by a cheaper, more complete version somewhere down the road.

4.5 Stars.Been a long time fan of this series having first played on the pc, then when the Sniper Elite V2 was announced for Xbox 360 I was very happy. This game is a vast improvement, with a bright campaign setting and I usually hate multiplayer but I find this one to be really good with several different modes etc.The games is self is a great game but this "ultimate edition" is not complete as it does not include the Assassinate the Fuhrer DLC which is a good add on and it has several achievements, I was very disappointed with this because I played the Assassinate the fuhrer mission on the Xbox 360 version and never got to play the Saving Churchill mission and now it is the other way round. That is my only gripe with this but I highly recommend this game as the replay value is great and the more detailed Xray kill cams are so versatile, graphic and satisfying.

Great game, if you like sniping then this is a must, especially at this price! Kills are so satisfying and meaty. There aren't a ton of mission however if you play through and try to master each level with absolute stealth then they can take you an hour plus easy.Love the meaty kill/X-ray cam's, so satisfying to watch your bullet meet its target.Four difficulty settings from cadet through to authentic, there's even custom difficulty settings, you can change NPC difficulty, sniping realism and tactical assistance separately to make the game ideal for you (although I am not sure how this effects trophies/achievements).Survival mode is a plus which adds some great fun and you can play with a friend. To be honest this deserves more credit than given, especially compared to some recent AAA games which have been god-awful

The game arrived a day earIy and I have just been playing it the graphics are superb and the game play is good plenty of blood when you shoot the Germans. But I was wondering if the German game players play this game would their sniper be German and would he be shooting the British I love all the Sniper Elite games that's made by 505 games and the bullet cams are brilliant in the game. But I have played sniper elite v2 and sniper elite 4 and I can't wait for the next sniper elite game to come out. I would like to see more missions on the new game and be longer missions to boot, it would be great to be able to take out all of Hitlers henchmen in the game now that would be a game to play andtake out fuel depots and ammo dumps.

A great game that is more engaging and takes more patience and planning than most other shooter games, plus it comes with all the added extras and levels for extended fun plus the x-ray cinematics when you get a kill. The AI is pretty bad, generally speaking, but I think that can be said for most games. The multiplayer is pretty good fun, especially for those who like to camp and snipe in multiplayer shooters (which is commonplace in my experiences in multiplayer gaming), but I find that in some games very little seems to happen in a few games that I've played but there is still a lot of fun to be had.On the whole I'm a happy camper with this game.

Bought this game for my son who is sniper mad. He really enjoyed it and after watching a couple of mission I had a go myself. This is a chill out game where you can either play it properly and sneak around picking people off at will or grab your machine gun and shoot anything, but if this is what you enjoy stick with COD. Do this game properly and you get a good sense of achievement although I have given it four stars for the simple reason that I sniped everyone on one of the levels only to find I had missed a valuable piece of info. To my horror the info I needed had disappeared and I had to re do the level again.

19.3.2015

Ok, where do I start with this great game. Ok, just to clear up some speculations, this game DOES NOT contain hunt of the grey wolf dlc. This however does not disappoint the experience you have with the game. The game is not for all. In that I mean, there are elements of stealth, skill and patience. This is not your typical shooter call of duty running in gun blazing and killing everyone. It has realistic events such as "relocating", if you shoot with your rifle, yes, you will attract enemies. 505 games know how to make a sniper game. N

Having played sniper elite V2 and sniper elite 4 which i may add are outstanding games i owned ths original sniper elite 3 and decided to uograde and this also blew my mind. The graphics outstanding and playability to brilliant .This game makes you plan every move to your advantage and not like sniper elite 4 you have the be more cautious has one no silencer on rifle to blow your cover so you end up relying on your pistol more..In conclusion buy this game
