Thought I would give these a bash. I am sure these are aimed squarely at people like me. I must be one of those rare gym goers that despise protein shakes. Most of them taste rank, and even for the ones that don't, they require drinking quickly in order to make them palatable - not exactly a drink you want to sip. I hate that as well.Since then I had tried many protein bars but also found them poor as well. Many of them end up being tasteless and difficult to eat. So when I saw the new Mars range I was immediately interested in giving them a go.And what do you know - it was ok. Having tasted this, I would say it's never going to be possible to produce a protein bar that tastes amazing. But this will do. In reality, it's simply a slightly smaller version of the generic choc protein bar, except it is covered with Mars chocolate, peanuts and caramel, enough to give that Snickers taste in the mouth. That disappears first though, and you are left with the chewy protein bit which doesn't taste as nice but is palatable thanks to the earlier hit. But, with a drink, you could easily eat this all and enjoy it, which is more than can be said for some others. Some of the obvious downsides here is the size. Stuff like the Grenade things are packing in 23g protein (also a yum). Would it have harmed them to make it a tiny little bit bigger? It's slightly expensive at £1.50 a go (regular price of snickers must be around 25p if bought at right time), but that seems to be the going rate for these things. Compared to a protein shake it's also more expensive. But I suppose for pure convenience it makes up for it, these are much easier to take on the road.Lastly, it would have been brilliant if the chocolate coating was a tad thicker. I think it's slightly slimmer than that on a real Snickers and this would have really helped the overall taste by providing a bit more moistness when getting down to the protein part.Overall I think they are good, and would buy them if they came on offer.

I bought these at almost half their current price which I think is about the most I'd be willing to pay for protein bars. Normal snickers bars are my favourite chocolate and so naturally you'll draw a comparison between these and the protein variety. Apart from containing actual nuts and being covered with chocolate they don't compare - they are the nicest protein bar that I've tasted but not as nice as the mainstream chocolate bar. That said, I never expected it to. I've yet to find a protein bar that perfectly substitutes a non-protein snack. Typically protein bars have a distinctive protein bar taste, it’s hard for me to articulate what this means but anyone that's used to eating them will likely be able to relate. This bar has about 10% of the normal protein bar taste and the remaining 90% is tastiness. In terms of nutritional value these bars will not be winning 'Protein bar of the year' with 2.7g saturated fat and 9.5g sugar they don't even compare to other bars - however the way I look at it is if like me you're a bit of cookie monster then it's better to munch on these than a normal chocolate bar. I hope this helps.

First off, do not expect this to be a health snickers Bar. Whilst it is similar the "protein" aspect makes this quite a different animal. Where a traditional Snickers has a nice soft centre the corresponding element of this bar is of a completely different texture, not as pleasant and almost powdery (one of the kids described it as a bit like eating clay- not sure how they knew that!) So if you are thinking of trying one as an alternative to a traditional bar as a snack you may be disappointed, However, as a protein bar the design following a Snickers with peanuts and chocolate is hard to beat and its certainly one of the best, it not the best one that I've tried. And that not just because I love peanuts and chocolate!

Pretty good protein bar. The ingredients and nutrition list is par for the course - it's not exactly healthy, but it has QUITE a lot of protein, certainly not the most I've seen for the size of bar, but also fewer calories in general than some bars. The main reason to choose this over another bar is that it's pretty tasty, definitely reminiscent of a regular Snickers bar. Good chewy caramel which I love.I bought a single bar at the gym in order to review it, as the pack I was meant to be getting never arrived. The weights would suggest that the single bars and the multi-pack bars are identical, but if they're not I'm sure someone will let me know.

From a Weight Watchers perspective, these are AMAZING! The additional protein means that from a 'points' point of view, they are low (6 Smart Points, WW fans) and yet pack a serious satisfaction punch (admittedly because they also contain a generous quantity of sugar - ooopsy!). They are slightly grainy in texture, which might put some off, but it wasn't an issue for me...which is why I bought 18 bars!!!If they were cheaper, I would have given them 5 out of 5, but in short, if you like sugar, and you like Snickers, chances are, these will make you happy whilst still keeping up the illusion of being health conscious ;)

A box of Snickers Protein bars with 18.2g of protein in each bar and 7.1g of fat plus some other nutritional information printed on the bars. They taste very similar to the normal Snickers chocolate bar just maybe a little bit stiffer and dryer but very nice and I actually found I prefer the flavour of these to the normal bar. I found these to be nicer on my pallette than other protein bars which I have used in the past as a lot of them tended to taste a bit powdery whereas these are great. There are 18 bars in each box and at £39.42 a box I think that they represent good value. Delicious!

Mars has introduced Snickers and Mars bars packed with protein after spotting a trend that it says has become “mainstream”.Hello, I am currently looking for the protein snickers bars (form mars) I see you sell beverages but could you provide me with a box of these chocolate bars. This product is not available in France and I am looking for more week... I hope that you will finally meet my expectations! Thanks Sarah

Unbelievable!I didn't believe this would taste just like a Snickers bar! I was proved wrong - oddly, for me they taste even better!!Secondly, I expected that the initial taste would be good and that I would be then left chewing on protein for the next 5 minutes! Wrong again! It is a little chewier than your standard snickers but only a little and nothing quite as near as the usual protein bar.

Better than a normal snickers. It's also a far cry from the grit and sand tasting protein bars that you can get elsewhere. The taste is good, Snickers like, but not as sweet. Of course its got some sugars, but what else were you expecting?I only paid 14 quid for a box, and at that it represented good value. Price seems to have risen again, and i'm not sure it's worth it at double that price.

Be aware that they are not identical to a snickers bar with an injection of protein. It contains the nuts and caramel. It the base is a bit dryer and more chewy as it contains the 18g of protein.By far the nicest protein bar around but for those unfamiliar with protein bar tastes/textures....be aware you will need a pint of water with it. Great product for gym goers looking to bulk on muscle

I've eaten many protein bars post workout as a quick protein hit and I've never tasted one as nice as this. I'm a big Snickers fan so was hoping this would be similar to a Snickers bar and I wasn't disappointed, it'll take a lot to move me off this bar now!The fact it tastes like a Snickers and has 18g Protein and less than 200 calories will make this my new Protein Bar of choice

In comparison to most protein bars this is hands down the best tasting bar I personally have ever tried. The only reason I did not rate it 5 stars is the price. They are very pricey. I believe they work out to be over $4.00 per bar. But taste wise they are very close to that of a snickers bar. They taste great refrigerated and then enjoyed with a hot cup of coffee!

Like all protein bars, this is extremely chewy, its core being made from milk and whey protein, so don't expect it to be like a traditional Snickers bar. Having said that, it has the same chocolate coating over plenty of peanuts and a caramel layer. At 200 calories for 18.2 gm of protein in a 51 gm bar, it's pretty good.

I have never used a protein bar before so had no expectations, just thought that it would be nice if it tasted like Snikers and it does. Obviously the protein flavour and texture is there but the flavour is nice and no guilty feelings arise after eating one bar.

These are fantastic. I usually pick these up in my local BP garage but bought a box when they were on offer. They don't taste exactly like a snickers, however they definitely feel like a treat, and if you are on weigh watchers they are 6 smart points per bar
