Bought this costume for my seven year old daughter who was going on a world war two day trip with school. The costume is fantastic, it is true to size and looked really good too (you do need to buy tights to go with it as the skirt is only knee length) the little bag is very cute (i found a small box to put in it to pad it out to make it look more realistic) she was by far the best dressed in her class and when i spoke to other mums who had put costumes together themselves it turned out this costume was not even close to the price they had paid altogether. A lovely product would definately recommend

The hat and dress/coat were a bit thin but for the price, pretty well made. Served the purpose of a WW2 day well.The downsides: I had to sew the hole up between the bottom button and the bottom of the opening as my daughter's tummy would have been showing! The label is a bit tacky (felt with lines sewn onto it) so we took it off and made our own card one. The bag is flimsy felt and we didn't end up using it.Would I buy it again? Yes, as I wasn't relying on the accessories (bag/label) anyway.

Bought for my daughter for ww2 event at school & she really looked the part & enjoyed the day. Didn't realise that the name tag came with if as it didn't say so in the description so that was a bonus. Fabric is a bit thin - so had to make sure she wore something underneath as it was a cold day. Arrived on time and very satisfied although the cost of delivery was almost as much ax the actual outfit (7.99 & outfit was 8.99) so think that is a bit of a rip off.

I bought the 10-12 aged dress for my tall 9 1/2 yr old but it was on the big side but sufficed. Hat too small so substituted it for another one we had. The bag I padded out with cardboard so it looked more like a gasmask box and with some white ankle socks and school shoes she looked like a genuine refugee. I added a belt to pull the dress in a bit too and bought a proper cardboard label as the material one looked a bit naff.Good for the price though :-)

We need WW2 costume for school. I struggled and by chance went on amazon. Order this and recieved it in just two days. If you think it looks good in real life it is much better. Size order was just right, quality lovely, price very good ideal for what i needed it for.Would recomend to all who are looking for this type of thing. From now on this company will be first call for all school dress needs.

Lovely outfit looks lovely on and doesn't look cheap like some of the fancy dress outfits you can buy. The little girl who this was purchased for is eight, very slim but very tall and we were a little worried about what size to order but opted for medium which fitted a treat. So when it's your child's turn to do the World War two themed day at school look no further for a evacuee outfit.

Whilst it is true that the dress and hat are very thin and I think the bag is made of felt, I still consider it to be good value for the money paid because I couldn't get a cheaper World War 2 girl's outfit anywhere else, or delivered so quickly. My daughter definitely liked her outfit for World Book Day so it served it's purpose - she was Lucy Pevensie from The Chronicles of Narnia.

The dress and bag were good value for the small price, Would have been happy to pay a little more for a cotton dress rather than nylon and a better quality hat, but it was ideal for the school's 1940s event and would recommend this outfit to anyone who did not want to spend too much money on what could be a "one off" event. Far cheaper than making it yourself.

Bought this for my daughters ww2 day at school, was a little worried after reading other reviews but looks great on. Yes the fabric a little scratchy, the bag a little small but what do you expect for 8.82 including delivery! I certainly didn't want to spend more then that when its for one day and unlikely to wear again. It fitted my slim 8 year old great.

Bought this for my daughter to wear to school for WW2 day. It was very creased when it arrived but after a quick iron looked great. My daughter loved-wearing it although the material looked quite thin she said it was comfortable. It got really messy whilst baking so I washed it on a cool wash and it looks good as new, even though it says sponge clean only.

Really pleased with this costume ,very inexpensive and my daughter looked amazing ,the quality was more than fine ,better than other dress up items iv bought in past ,I bought an adults underdress to go under it as couldn't find child's but it worked great added gas mask box and I can't imagine how she could have looked the part more

My 10 year old daughter came home from school indicating she had to wear evacuee costume - found this and read the reviews - yes it's a bit thin - she wore a vest and top underneath - yes I got the size 11 but I usually do - it was perfect - a friend of hers got the same one so they went as sisters - beret was fine tooThank you

Am a small size 8 adult and this fitted fine and was a lot cheaper than the grown up outfits! The bag and hat werent any use really but the dress was great for the money and several people commented on it at the Forties night. I added my own satchell. hair band and a genuine 40's teddy and it all looked fab! many thanks!

I ordered this outfit for my 7 year old daughter for a dress up day at school. She normally would wear a size 10 so I ordered age 10-11 which was perfect. The little hat was too small unfortunately so she didn't wear it but I could easily pick somthing similar up elswhere. The little bag really makes the outfit.

These costumes are cute and fun. Don't see why people are overreacting. Just to be clear, my grandparents lived through the war and they wouldn't find this offensive. You might as well take out every soldier, Knight, wartime related costumes while you're at it. This costume is great, my niece loves it.
