This lunch bag is great. My daughter is 3 1/2 and she already had the owl backpack from Skip Hop. When we enrolled her in preschool she was going to need to take her lunch every day, so I got this since it matched. It IS small, but that is what I wanted because she has to carry the backpack as well. It is perfect for her, but I knew exactly what I was ordering before we got it. My daughter is provided with milk at school so I knew I would not have to send a drink. If you need to send a drink, that may be an issue. The bag is very small. However, I was able to fit a Foogoo/Funtainer thermos across the bottom of the bag with a square Tupperware sandwich container in the top part just fine. This may or may not work depending on how much your child eats! I can put a half sandwich, cheese stick and apple slices in the Tupperware container for my child. That is enough for her, but you may not be able to fit a whole lunch in that size container. If you pack a thermos you could probably fit more in if you used plastic bags or snack bags since they are not rigid containers.Pros:-It is small enough for a preschooler without being too cumbersome-It's very cute!-Matches the bookbag-Has a mesh bag inside for holding flatware and/or an ice pack (must be a flat, soft ice pack. not a hard ice block pack)-label inside for writing child's name and phone number-zipper goes all the way around the bottom curve so you can completely open the top and the flap will lay open flat, not stick up. Great for packing, it doesn't flop closed.- The soft sides give a little so you can pack oddly shaped containers without damaging the lunch bag-The handle on top has a clip so you can clip it to the backpack if necessary.-Will fit several large rectangle shaped containers for packing bento-style lunches. Just use silicone cupcake liners to divide the inside of the container.Cons you may notice(which were not an issue for me):-Too small for a big eater or an older child.-Will not hold a thermos AND a lunch, unless it is a small thermos and a container-free lunch (will fit a Funtainer and a "sandwich size" square container)-No outer pouch for a drink or water bottleFor the price you can't beat it. It is an adorable lunch bag for a boy or girl. I can't speak for the durability since we just got it, but my daughter has been carrying the Skip Hop owl backpack for over a year now and it has held up wonderfully. When your child outgrows this as a lunch bag, it would make a great snack bag for outings.

My preschooler used this for two months during summer camp and loves it. It is adorable, of course, and matches her backpack. I like that it opens all the way from the side so loading it and arranging the food is easy for me. The interior doesn't have crevices to clean, also a plus. But the yellow fabric of the bee we purchased already looks pretty dingy. I know my preschooler has supervision and assistance during lunch, such as opening up her items and putting them back inside, so it stays fairly clean inside. I also know she has an organized classroom with a cubby to keep her things and when it is time to leave she has supervision packing up her items and heading to the pick-up zone. However,I know from experience with my older child that once they are in Kindergarten, they may drag, throw, step-on their lunchbox. They will place their used food items back inside without placing them inside containers, they will leave their milk or water bottles open to spill. They will leave their items outside in the rain and the mud. The thick weave of the exterior material that appears to be canvas does not wipe clean, and the inside, being a fabric free of PVC, is supposedly wipe-clean, but it doesn't wipe up the way vinyl would. You just have to decide if you want the inside of the lunchbox to be stained and possibly smelly, or PVC-free.Also, as noted in other reviews, it is fairly small in size. This is just perfect for my preschooler's lunch items (without water bottle), but once she is in Kindergarten and needs lunch plus snack, this won't work. I always use the side pocket of her backpack for her water bottle, as it would not fit inside the lunchbox with her lunch, and it would smash her sandwich in a baggie. My preschooler will continue to use this lunchbox, but when she enters Kindergarten we will move to Crocodile Creek, which has been super durable and easy to clean with my K-2nd grader.

My daughter is in kindergarten and has this lunchbox along with the owl backpack. We love it! It is the perfect size for her snack, and it is so, so, SO cute! It'll never get mixed up with anyone else's! It is not a huge bag, so probably not a great option for older kids who are bringing more food. It's easy to clean out, and my daughter has no trouble opening/closing it, or getting her items out. It seems to be very durable.UPDATE:This lunchbox is now in it's second year of use and we still adore it. My youngest daughter (in preschool) has adopted it for her snacks at school. I put it in the washing machine often (I air dry it) and it still looks almost brand new.And gets compliments all the time!Update aug 2013:Still going strong! This is now to small for us to use for school but its great for bringing snacks and drinks when we are running errands. Has been washed a zillion times and still looks pretty good. :)

Simply gorgeous, I love it and I think the baby does too! I use it every day to send to Grandmas. This bag is the perfect size to accommodate lunch and dinner plus dessert and snacks for my 7 month old. However this is based on pouches or pots at the moment, for a bigger child you'd comfortably get a good packed lunch in. I don't know if kids still have flasks these days but if so you wouldn't fit one in with food too. It is insulated but I can't comment on that function yet as I haven't tested it.The clip strap is very handy too as I can attach it to her changing bag. It's very well made and looks of a high quality. It cleans well too and has a label inside for writing baby's name which would be handy to send to nursery.I'll be honest and say I bought this based on aesthetics but it doesn't disappoint on practicality too. I'm looking forward to getting the matching backpack too.

Bought this for my four year old who is going to 'big school' in September and can take a packed lunch with her, which she is very excited about. Of course we had to get it early :)Gorgeous, well made and just the right size. Nice little pocket in the top for some biscuits or a carton drink to fit into. Plenty of space for sandwich, fruit, yoghurt and crisps which is the staple diet when we out and about. Oh yes, she takes it geocaching with her and it more than happy to carry it around. The handle is adjustable and can unclip so you can attach it to the backpack (which is next on the list!).They may be more expensive than the lunchbox that you'll find on your local supermarket shelves, but they are worth every penny in cuteness alone.

I bought this at the time of weaning my son at 5-6months old to keep his finger food fresh and a sippy cup always on stand by. It has been used almost daily since then and he is 2.5 now!It is just the right size for a toddler lunch + drink and it keeps the contents cool. I sometimes add a freezer pack in there if it's a hot day.The snap handle is perfect for attaching to pram handle.Despite heavy use "Bee Bag" is still in great condition. It's easy to clean and yes it sometimes leaks a bit if the contents are leaking. The fact it is soft with no compartments makes it easier and more flexible to pack.I can add whatever snack pot/box I need for the day without having to find the only one that fits!Very cute & great quality.

This is a great, adorable lunch box. It's the perfect size for my 4 year old son's lunch (might be a bit small for an older kid). It even has a 'This belongs to' spot to write his name and a interior pocket to tuck in a cute note. We also have the hippo backpack from the Skip Hop Zoo line and the fact that this lunchbox has a handle with a clip makes it super easy to attach his lunch right to his backpack as we head out the door. His lunch is always cold when it is time to eat and it's very easy to clean should anything spill. And since my son is in the habit of clipping it to his backpack he always brings it inside at the end of the day so it's never left in the car with smelly leftovers. We both love it!

I am an adult and I LOVE this lunch bag! It is just so cute, it brightens my day whenever I use it. I wasn't sure if it would be too small for me, but I find it to be just the right size! It has plenty of room to fit the things I usually eat for lunch - a frozen Lean Cuisine or similar type frozen meal, or a box of Lunchables, and a few bags of 100-calorie snacks. It would even fit a banana too, but I think an apple might be a stretch with those frozen meals. It would definitely fit an apple if the other things in the bag were smaller though, such as a sandwich. I usually keep my drink at work, so I don't have to tote that, but this would definitely fit a juice box for kids,or a can of soda.

This is a really nice wee lunchbag, insulated inside and with a handy clip opening at the top of the bag meaning it can easily be attached to another bag/ baggy if needed.I bought it for my 9 month old and it's just big enough to take his lunch, cup, bib and spoons to granny's as an alternative to having to take the whole big changing bag.The only problem I can see I'd that it's not machine washable. Given the bright colour and the fact that I spilled something on it shortly after getting it, I would have liked to have been able to bung it in the washing machine. It's a great design too, we often get comments on it, very child friendly but without 'a branded cartoon character in sight!

This is probably a kids favorite, I'm 18 years old, but I really like the cute little animal things like slippers and when I was looking for a lunch box I thought why buy a boring lunch box? I want to make a statement! I needed a lunch box for work and no one was too surprised this lunch box belonged to me but they all said it was so cute. I love it it's the perfect lunch carrier with a cute twist. I'd totally recommend it for kids, or adults who like to have a little fun in their lunch time! Haha. It's small but big enough for a typical packed lunch. Also keeps portions under control with the perfect size of space for a lunch! (Great diet tip to have a small lunchbox!)

I just love these lunch bags, and so do my kids. In fact my 20 month old loved his older brothers' bags so much that I ordered one for him just so that he could carry it around when the other boys do. They have held up very well for me, and have all lasted more than a school year without getting too grungy looking. It's a little difficult to fit much in with a typical plastic sandwich container (not a bag, but an actual hard plastic container), but so far it's been fine and I just tuck fruits and veggies into baggies and around the sandwich. We own four different bags (the one my oldest used for a year and three newer ones) and they are all so cute!

Bought this for my two year old who wanted one after her big sister got the ladybird.Gorgeous, well made and just the right size.

This is our probably fourth or fifth Skip Hop product and we continue to love them! We had the ladybug lunchbox for my older daughter and now the bee lunchbox for my younger son who is just starting preschool. He absolutely adores it, both kids do. They are the perfect size, fit and kid sized backpacks, and are very easy for the kids to use and hold you just the right amount of food for their lunches. I even discovered rather late that you can actually put them in the top rack of the dishwasher and they wash up beautifully. I'm not sure if this is sanctioned, but it works great and they've come out looking brand-new. Highly recommended!

Adorable little lunch bag....very different from the usual cartoon characters ones that are out there.good size for a toddlers snack and lunch....I use it for my 18 month old son when we are out for the day.... It can carry sandwiches, yogurt pot, his munchkin snack trap with snacks,a fruit and cookies and I put cereal bars, bib and cutlery in the mesh pocket.I carry drinks in the main diaper bag and clip this to the handle of the bag or pushchair for easy access....I feel it can carry enough for a toddler's lunch and snack needs if you don't put a large sippy or bottle in it. Thumbs up from me though.... All the designs are adorable:)

I wanted a lunchbag that stayed upright so that the yoghurt and the drinks wouldn't all spill over and this bag certainly does the trick. It's not like those bags that look like a mini little suitcase where you put everything in when the case is laid flat, but when you pick the case up, everything is on its side... At the same time as buying this, I bought a set of four Oxo food boxes, which are the perfect size for snacks and for also fitting in this bag - best combination of things I have bought! Our bag has got dirty a few times but it has been easy to clean with a sponge and a bit of fairy liquid! Would definitely recommend.
