It may seem overkill to get this one, when I already have the Big Shot, however it is a wonderful addition for small dies. Don't get me wrong, I love my Big Shot, but tend to save any embellishments (I make journals) until I have a few and do them all at once. If I just want a single and quick tiny cut out; bows, swirls, butterflies etc., it can be a pain hauling it out for less than a minute. Enter the Sidekick! Small enough to sit handy, suctions to my glass craft mat just by flipping the side lever (and trust, that boy is not moving), 30 seconds later I have my die cut, without having to leave my project. So far I have used it with brand name dies, cheap non brand dies, solid block dies and very intricate swirls and miniature doilies; all cut with no problem. Can be used straight out of the box with the included dies, stamps and embossing folders, so good for a beginner who wants to dip their toe in the water without the large expense of a full size machine, and more experienced crafters with lots of teeny tiny dies to use immediately inspiration strikes.

I have been looking at buying a die cutting machine for quite a while now but, the prices are a big commitment for something I was not sure if I would get on with. After taking the plunge I decided to go with a brand name that I knew rather than one of the cheaper versions. This handy little machine was very easy to use with clear instructions and I have already had successful first-time attempts using it. This machine is ideal for embellishments rather than for cards cutting. I have several pieces of smaller offcuts and this has meant I can use up scrap paper rather than using whole sheets. It has definitely been worth the money and as it also comes with some dies I was able to get crafting straight away.I can see that in the future I will buy a larger machine that will take A4 sheets. This is a brilliant little gadget that has opened up another avenue to card making and because it is so quick and easy to use, it means I will be able to produce more cards.

This is my first die cutting machine and I love it. First thing to know: you won't be able to run full size cards through this one. It's pretty small (6.35 cm wide), but it's perfect for cutting shapes, letters, words, leaves, and really most dies that are not full card size. But if you have your heart set on cards with "windows" on the front you will probably need a bigger machine for that. Cuts any die really nicely, super easy to store and carry around. I've used it with Sizzix and X-cut dies, both worked fabulously. I picked this one because I thought the bigger ones would be a problem to store.I'm having trouble keeping it stuck to the table (hence the 4 stars). It sticks nicely for 2-3 cuts but then I have to readjust the suction lever again to keep it in place. I'm not sure why it won't keep stuck until I turn the lever back. My desk has a pretty smooth surface.

Absolutely love this machine! The picture shows my first attempts at die cutting and stamping. Really recommend getting the starter kit because there are some really useable bits in here. The machine is so easy to use, the suction is great so it's easy to roll things through without it being troublesome. The machine is really substantial and sturdy too.I've now bought more die and stamp sets as I've felt so inspired to try more out. I'm a complete beginner and highly recommend this.

Arrived promptly and well packaged. Very easy to use and comes with clear instructions. As this the first time I have used anything like this I am pleasantly surprised. The down side for me is it's very small,my fault as should of read the description property. It's definitely a good starter for beginners and not too sure if you want to spend a lot of money. I am pleased I bought it and hopefully will get a lot of use from it

This is ideal if you want to practice die cutting and embossing and perfect if you want to cut out small designs, but the slot is not very wide, so it has limited use. I was expecting more for the price, as I have seen the same size models in the Disney store (Frozen) for £10, but that didn't come with dies and embossing folders. It has convinced me to buy a bigger machine though. It arrived on time and was well packaged.

This little embosser and die cutter machine won't be put in a cupboard to gather dust, it will be on my worktop as I know I'll be using it so often. I have a Sissix Big Shot Plus which is amazing, but heavy, and cumbersome when I only want a small sentiment or shape. This Sidekick is perfect for those small items, and you can use up a lot of the paper or card scraps that we all accumulate. I love it!

Dithered over whether to buy this for ages as I already have electric and big and extra large manual machines! But so glad I finally did. It is a sturdy and easy to use machine that cuts a good variety of materials with no effort at all. It is extremely stable in use - it sticks to my glass mat securely until I release the suction. Highly recommended.

Sissix bigshot is a brilliant manual die cutting machine. The only thing I have found disappointing is that you can incur extra costs with having to purchase other mats and plates for it. Of course this does depend on how much you want to do with the machine, so it doesn't mean it's the same for everybody.

I hadn't even heard about the sidekick until i saw it in a local shop..but wasn't prepared to pay what they had it for..so i had a look on amazon and there was a choice of colours but i didn't want the one with number dies (brown one) as i have some already...so i settled on the white and grey one..

I have 3 die cutters cut n boss a4 brill machine cuts the size bigz as well.as a gemini and a big shot I've had and loved for 11 years...but just to have on side for small bits I bought this...as I already have the big shot I knew this would be quality..its amazing little machine perfect.

Really love this little machine for all the small embellishments I make. Saves getting out a bigger machine and very easy to use. The plates last a good while, although the machine can move a little while in use but if held steady it's fine.

A great starter kit for all ages. Easy to use and comes with enough bits to get started. You can clamp it down to your surface and it won't move when using. A great buy for any crafter no matter what experience level you are.

Lovely little cutter. It does only have a small width (6-7cm) and is good for making ‘add on’s’ to cards as apposed to cutting backing designs for cards etc. No problems, easy to use and all-round great product!

I like it for its handy for small dies and cuts well.It seems strange to wind anti-clockwise to use if putting in the die at the front, and it’s a bit annoying that the suction pad releases rather easily
