This was bought to replace a round pedal bin of a similar capacity but when it came I was struck by how small it seemed. I thought at first that it would not be big enough for our needs but I was pleasantly surprised at the way it seemed to disappear into the alcove in the kitchen where its predecessor had stood. It was not until I began to use it that I actually came to appreciate how good it is. I have found that the rectangular shape is much more practical than round bin I had been used to. Crumbs from the breadboard for example can now easily be put in the bin without spilling them all over the floor. Given its compact size and its usefulness I am really pleased with it.

It might have been a tad bigger, but this is a still a stylish bin and perfect for an office. The top pops off and the inner bin is removable for cleaning. Not cheap but will last a lifetime.Note that the photos are misleading - there is just one removable inner bin, black in colour. One of the photos incorrectly shows two square bins, one blue and one black.

Simple human I am not! I know a good thing when I see it. Their products are engineered to as near perfect as possible. Environment, Hygene and operative all considered as much as possible. Congratulations on your production and mechanical engineering skills. Clever Amazon for merchandising this one! Yes I would have liked it cheaper, but wouldn't we all!

This bin is a perfect shape for under a small desk as it doesn't waste space like round bins and has a better capacity.The look is good but the back has the metal join which is in a different place to the lid join. Also the black plastic on the lid has scratch marks at the front and inside one of the clips when they manufactured it is broken.

This is a great addition to office/smaller room where capacity of bin isn't an issue. It isn't soft close, but for me that isn't an issue - the bin oozes the quality you expect from simplehuman and it is great for what it does. Good strong mechanism, normal plastic carriers can be utilised in it, would happily buy again.

Compact, the perfect size for reducing our waste in the kitchen, the lid unlike some reviews i’ve read here is definitely soft close it’s not silent but it’s soft and doesn’t clang. I recommend buying the right sized bags from Simple Human they are rated by letter This bins bags are lettered R

Fits the bill for our relatively small kitchen. I didn't find that there was much choice in slimline bins, and initially thought that this was a bit pricey. However, having seen whats on offer in good quality stainless steel bins I consider it a reasonable price to pay for convenience.

I bought this bin to sit alongside it's lidded 'sister'. The lidded bin stores general garbage and this open bin takes recyclable items. Ideal for a single person usage, it would be a little small for family use (too many trips to the blue bin outside).

Small and compact for a bathroom with little space. Not sure i would use in a kitchen as a bin as think it would be too small as other reviews have mentioned. But it is sturdy and practical. would recommend for homes where space is essential.

It fits my small kitchen perfectly and I couldn't be happier. Square shape is very nice although it does mean you will have trouble to use other standard 10l bin liner because they're designed for round bins.

I use it in the bathroom, hold loads including empty bleach bottles but doesn't take much space up. Well made, classy and easy to clean. Worth the extra pennies as it should last forever.

Fab solid bin, would thoroughly recommend it. We bought it as the dog had learnt how to use pedal bins and push top bins, this has stopped her bin diving (finally). Looks great too

Excellent product. However, what the heck is Simple Human supposed to really mean anyway? Perhaps it was chosen because they couldn’t get superhuman.com and ran out of inspiration!

This bin is capacious, well made and stylish. The only reason for deducting a star is that there is no inner bucket to capture any leakages in the event of a split bin liner.

Best bathroom bin you could get. Very well built and you can tuck the bag inside the bin so that you do not get any bag overhang on the edges of the bin when closed.
