The product arrived at the 1st day of the estimated timeframe. The postal charge is high, but that was announced upfront so I am not complaining (I ordered 2). The product itself is made of black plastic, which was a bonus for me as I used it to cover a self made 12 cm hole on a Asrock Ion 330 nettop and I had to make the 4 holes in the corners bigger, which was really easy being plastic. The grill is honeycomb and fairly unrestricted, and does not add to much to the noise of the installed 12cm Nexus fan.The whole project was born, when my younger son wanted a new computer (instead of a very slow Atom 1.6 Ghz- bordering unusability), but I did not want to buy a whole new computer.I sacrificed the optical drive (anyway who need those in 2012?)cut a hole on the top of the nettop and installed the above fan. At the same time I removed the annoyingly noisy very small (3cm) fan from the heatsink of the nvidia integrated graphics as well as the less annoying 5 cm fan from the rear. The result: a much quiter system overall, which I was also able to overclock from 1.6 to 2 GHz (I could not do that before due to execcive amonut of heat). Now, this little beauty can play HD videos even from youtube without dropped frame and the whole operating system is much snappier (now it is windows 8, because it is less memory hungry compared to Win7)My son is quite happy, although I guess he wished failure of my quest in order to get a new i5 system -:) - but no, parents out there, with atom kids can do their homework, but cannot play too much!

Well I did have a couple of these previously and they really do work well, the mesh is strong, very fine and will stop dust getting into the computer and makes it much easier to clean.A couple of things to bear in mind. The very fine mesh does slow airflow down a tad - it's only a tad though and I use these for the intake for my watercooled radiator intake - basically in the hope that I don't have to clean out the dust from the radiator grills which is a real pain. The temp difference it about 1 degree with this on.Again as the mesh is so fine do get into the habit of cleaning fairly regularly as the dust will collect fast and will eventually block the airflow off a lot. When they get reallydirty the mesh can be washed under the tap - it's well constructed and strong.A little tip for the lazy. I do put these at an angle where the magnet holds this in place but avoids me having to screw them in as this would make it a fair bit of work to detach and clean and since it needs it so often this would be a bit of a pain depending on what fan you use them for and how easy the screws are to take out. Radiator > fan > filter > screw is a nasty combination for me.Alternatively it would be better to cut the corners away so they don't interfere with the screw heads - the magnetic border is strong enough to keep it in place.

Bottom line: these are soooo effective its unreal!!!! Recommend everyone gets these.I purchased two to put on my front 2 fans on my Antec 900 Case, before I would have to clean my PC inside practically every week! I gave up and let it all collect and slowly watched my temperatures rise. That was the situation until I discovered these. At first I was sceptical, but at £6 (amazon) I thought it was worth a go. After undertaking a deep clean of my PC I stuck two of these at the front and continued. A week later, no a single spec inside my PC and the filters were coated (see attached pic). In fact they are soo effective that the only issue now is that I have to clean the filters practically every 5days just to keep some airflow through them. The only downside is that these filters make you realise how dusty your home is!.Oh and their frames are magnetic, so they snap effortlessly to a metal case. So easy to install and remove for cleaning. :)

We recently changed out C&C machines PC as the previous one packed it in. Upon opening the previous PC case, the amount of dust was shocking! I began thinking of ways to protect the new PC from the amount of dust it would be subject to on a day-to-day bases. My solution was to enclose the PC in a wooden case with 2 holes either side (Intake and exhaust)For each hole, I mounted a fan powered by USB. I then needed dust filters with a very fine mesh. After much research, I found most people recommended these covers by Silverstone - A brand I, myself would trust. Can honestly say these have protected our new PC from a huge amount of dust after just a few weeks. They’re easily cleaned off with a wipe of a cloth and attach with ease to small metal strips around each hole.Highly recommend.

If you have white PC case & dust problem, this filter is a must-have.It arrives safely packed in foil bag and fully matches the description: white color on one side, black on the other (magnet one). Dimensions are 12,1 x 12,1 x 1,6 mm. Screw holes are placed perfectly, magtnet part sticks to metal strong enogh to use the filter also under the case (PSU).The density of the filter is insane: it stops even the smallest particles, successfuly delaying in time your next case cleaning. How about cleaning the filter itself? No problems here as well: the netting is synthetic and quite durable, so you can either rinse it with water or wipe with any cloth.Highly recommended for any case without or with poor quality fan filters.Low priced, well manufactured, easy to use and very efficient.

Arrived quickly but the supplier doubled the price with a ridiculous postage and packing charge. However, the filter kit is excellent for what it's designed to do. I have spare fan grills on my Antec case and wanted to add filters even where no fan was needed. Be aware that the filters are designed to be fitted between the case and a fan so if a fan isn't fitted to any of your grills you need to use nuts and bolts as the supplied self-tapping screws are for use with a fan. For what they are designed to do these filters are great so they get 5 stars. However, I just wish all non-Amazon suppliers would adopt a more realistic postage and packing pricing policy.More than doubling the price might seem like a good deal to the supplier but I'll buy my filters elsewhere next time.

I bought 2 of these 120mm magnetic filters for my Silverstone R3 tower, only thing I was disappointed with, the screw holes are not wide enough to fit over rubber fan mounts, so I had to remove the rubber mounts and use metal screws, only then can the filters can be placed on to fan vents, with mine I decided to put the screws through the filters fixing them in place. I would have preferred to fit them so only the magnets holding them on the vent but I noticed the screws were preventing the filters sitting down tightly, there was small gap around the sides but having young kids around might be a good idea to screw them in anyway,no temptation to remove and play with them. There still worth getting despite the extra effort if your fans are already installed.

The filters for my purpose changed once they arrived. The magnets have nothing to attach to for quick disassembly on my plastic fans or my aluminium fans.the screw sections in corner allow counter sunk screws to be used but ofc this then requires complete disassembling of the fan / screws to allow filter to be taken off and cleaned. So one of the pictures in the sale shop showing the positions of the magnets under the rubber shroud. 2either side of the centre of each fan side. No idea what the magnets supposed to attach to as only steel (CHEAP) PC cases are magnetic, and not found a single fan with steel sides.

There are infact a very good buy, only a cost a few quid apart from postage, both slotted on perfectly. Placed one behind the mesh on the front of my cm storm sniper case, its catching loads of dust and little bits that get the through the case filter. Placed the other one underneath 140mm fan fitting at the bottom of my case. Both work a treat. The filters are very very fine, however, it doesn't impede the airflow. One filter reduced the noise created by the honeycomb fan slot.Shame I couldn't find the 120mm version anywhere. These are defo worth a few quid and very easy to fit.

This dust filter is as fine as you can get making sure it will catch any dust your pc throws out. With its white aesthetic, this blends in with a white case build just like mine. This filter is so easy to install as it is magnetic making it also easy to clean with no screws required. The only downside I found to this is that with my case exhaust fan area being slightly stuck out the magnets are not that strong and it can fall off with a slight knock. Overall this is a good product to reduce dust residue but would be even better if the magnets were made a bit stronger.

This product is amazing, the delivery was very fast (one day) and the quality of the product is fantastic for the price I payed. Airflow is not reduced and it catches a lot of dust. Looks good as well. Comes with screws for setup. Also for all you out there which don't know how to install this product, youjust slot in between the fan and case and screw it up as usual. Or you could put it on the outside and have the case between the fan and filterOverall this is a very good product: cons doesn't come with instructions but I think I explained the jist of things*****

Someone once said it just works referring to something that costs WAY TOO much and hits your system hard. This does just work, it is cheap and has had a good secondary effect on my system. My case is a fractal design r5 when i installed the side case fan it buzzed like crazy. I had to TAPE the small side panel back on to bring the sound damping effect back but using this no need for side panel no dust getting into system from the side. I screwed through holes to the fan on the inside of the case and with a bonus effect no buzzing so it JUST WORKS and its cheap

How to review a fan filter...It works. Very well for its price, too. I've got mine mounted on the underside of a Corsair 760t v2, covering the intake of a Corsair ML120 Pro. After a week, I'm already seeing improvements over my old filter. Being magnetic, it's easy to mount. But beware! This magnet isn't the strongest ever produced, and I found it a little fiddly to reinstall after cleaning it. However, it does a good job of staying there once I can press it on. I still rate it 5 stars though, as it does the job very well, and I can't complain at this price.

This is an easy solution for preventing excess dust from getting inside a PC case: the fine mesh in this filter stops a lot of dust from being sucked inside a PC case by an inward-sucking fan that is used to draw cold air into the case. The mesh is magnetic and simply attaches to the outside of the case, and is placed directly where the fan takes in the airflow. When the mesh starts to get clogged with dust just pull it away and brush off, then snap back onto the metal case again when it is clean. Very effective, no tools required.
