I have had a couple of cycle computers in the past, but they have been a bit tricky to set up, and had more features than functionality. The problem is, that basic cycle computers can only tell you how fast you're going, for how long and how far you've been. They can throw a few more bells and whistles in, but that's pretty much it. So what else could you want? Cadence! Cadence is your pedalling speed in RPM. It doesn't sound like a particularly interesting feature, but I've found it by far the most useful function on my cycle computer as it helps me cycle better.Anyway, as far as cadence kits go, this is just fine. It connects to the back of the mounting of my Sigma BC 1609 in a rather rudimentary fashin, but it works. Attaching the magnet to the pedal was slightly troublesome, but I sorted it out. It's worth noting that if you have a large bicycle frame, you are limited for your cable routing options. I have a very large frame and was okay, but it took a little though in the installation. Once in place, the 1609 computer detects the cadence signal and just works. The cadence seems to be updated frequently and it works well. I'm really happy with this product and would urge anyone getting a cycle computer to make sure it has cadence capability.

The cadence sensor cable is terminated in a couple of little push on connectors that plug into the back of the computer head unit - they needed a good push to click into place and then I found I had to reverse them to get it to work. I'm not sure if this was a coincidence and I haven't reversed them back again to prove the point, but if you have trouble it may be worth trying.
