I now have the Sigma f 8 mm 3.5 fisheye and the 15 f2.8 fisheye. Both from E Bay. Both lenses in great condition when they arrived and great value for money. I was going to buy the Canon 8-15 fisheye but the price to great for one lense. For me personally im having great fun with these two lenses and astounded at the quality when matched with my Canon 5d111. A few specks of dust in the 15mm 2.8 fisheye but this did not spoil any results. Both lenses came in padded cases a real must If you want to take care of your investment. Both lenses very sharp and the AF quite fast enough for the average and pro . I have not experienced the canon 8-15 but I think if I needed to part with one of these two Sigma lenses the choice would be hard to make.If I could get my hands on a Canon 8-15 fisheye to try I might change my mind but for the moment i'm quite content with the results im getting with both lenses.I use a 10.1 google tablet to display and edit results but to get an idea of the full performance , laptop or desktop will be required . Complaints. The lens caps fall off to easily but remember the 15mm has a 360 lense shroud thing that will give the user a full 360 result from both lenses and a full 180 on the 15mm for the landscape photographer. My thoughts for perhaps a little more outlay the canon 8 and 15 would have given me even more for my money. I wish luck to anyone scratching their head on their choice but think carefully as to what you really want the lenses for . I made my choice but at the end of the day make 100% you really need Fisheyes as the use is limited . Sigma will give you your moneys worth of lense but the extra outlay for the canon version is going to be hard to justify. Jerry Bligh Mr Average Photographer.Read full review...

This lens is good fun. Maybe not the most flattering lens, but I have taken some great portraits. Also good for landscape and architectural. Nice and light too.To some extent it is a gimmick lens, and sure you can create similar effects in Photoshop, but that doesn't allow you to see what it will look like whilst composing the shot. I made the mistake of selling one of these... only to buy an identical replacement a couple of years later.I have used the Canon equivalent, nether have HSM/USM and the Sigma is super sharp, so that's my choice of the two purely on the lower price tag. It's worth mentioning that the Canon might have slightly better AF though (I haven't properly tested this, just a hunch). The design of the lenses seems very similar - it's pretty much a clone lens in my opinion, but a good one!Take care with the front element. it protrudes and cannot be protected with a UV filter.Read full review...
