Arrived as stated. No issue. Was hoping for better performance than my 2 year old Sahara FE which can be bought for $60. Its casts as far and feels as equally smooth during retrieve. Somewhat disappointing. Being an inshore and kayak fisherman I compared it to the new Penn Conflict II and a Daiwa BG. I chose the Shimano based on advice and my having one that performs well. Penn's are nice for live bait fishing where you aren't doing much casting or working the rod and reel as one does with lures. The Penn feels like machinery on the rod presenting bulky and heavy even though the Conflict 2 is light compared to other Penn's, it lacks the lightweight feel and smooth retrieve other reels have.

Finally a spinning reel with the quality and features of a top end reel for a $100.00. The reel is very smooth with a feel of tightness found in reels that cost twice as much. I fished with the reel in the keys for yellowtail and grey snapper and was pleased with the results. Larger fish were caught and the drag was very smooth. The reel was used every day in saltwater for a week (rinsed with fresh water each day) and it cleaned up very well ,so I guess the protective coating advertised works. The only con I have is the handle which is not small but I would like something larger because of my arthritis in my hands.

Well I have seen a few reviews that compared this reel to a Stradic... I can assure you it is NO stradic.. I own a few stradic and even one stella but I was looking for something my clients and nephews could use without my heart dropping every time then held it in one hand over the side of the boat, and since I had a few extra TFO rods I figured I’d try this. If you know the feel of quality in a reel and have any feeling in your hand you will notice a difference right away. Although I think this reel will do the trick as the drag is quite smooth and it is pretty lite

What I liked most is the smooth action, super strong and smooth drag! This reel is light and compact but able to handle larger fish in saltwater. Yes it has extra protection for use in saltwater.For me there really is nothing as yet to not like about this reel.Excellent quality for the price. This is now my second Nacsi because the first one was great. I have owned the cheapest Shimano spinning reel and have never been let down by any of my 6 Shimano spinning reels I now own. I fully recommend this reel!

I bought this reel for my grandson as a birthday gift. I,personally know very little about fishing gear but he does. It must be a good reel because I know he researches everything that interests him. He specifically asked me to get this one for him. He is going to be excited to receive it because this is all he talks about. So glad Amazon had this. It made my day and it is going to make his day too! PS... It was delivered lightening fast and was packaged with extreme care. Thank you!

The Shimano American Corporation NASCI 4000XGFB is black with gold trim. Glistening blue specks are visible under proper lighting conditions. Anti-reverse feature is permanent with no switch to manually reverse retrieve. Machine tolerances are very close which produces incredibly smooth retrieve. Tip of reel crank handle is texturized, thick, flat, T-shaped with rounded top. This allows for a very strong grip when placed in the palm between ring finger & middle finger.

Have this as my primary with a Pflueger Presidente as backup, both smooth on the reel in but then Nasci just has something else to it that makes it one of the smoothest reels I’ve used aside from a Stradic. The 3000 had no problem bringing in 14” - 27” drum in Gulf waters. Paired it with a 7’6” medium US Inshore Select for an extra long cast; was slinging it.Update: brought in a 36” bull red on it with no problem. Hands down best reel for price on market.

Love this reel. I am surprised how smooth it is. I kayak fish and, I didn't realize, it sat in couple of inches of salt water at the bottom of the kayak for about an hour. All I did was rinse it off and it works great. I have it spooled with 17 lb test nano fil on a Med / Hvy spinning rod rated for 1/4 - 1 oz lures. Casts amazingly well and I had zero line issue. I think this is just an amazing lure for the money. I'll be order the 5000 size for surf rod.

I own two of these reals and use them for pier and beach fishing, I love them.They are light and so smooth to cast and to reel in, they stand up to some well to hard work from nice sized fish, I have them both set up with 30lb braid.I've got more expensive reels but this setup will always be in my trunk for a days salt water fishing.

This reel is clearly superior in function and looks! Will cast even small trick worms effectively ( I use 20 power pro braid) and has drag to spare. At under $100 bucks it beats out others priced at $200 and up! Very smooth cast and retrieval and practically sealed like salt water reels. Got one, then got another. Going for a 3rd soon.

I LOVE THIS REEL. I have Stradic FJ, FK, Sustains. This reel is just as good for half the money. I find myself always using this reel because it performs just as well as my Expensive reels but I don't care if it gets thrown around the boat and scratched up. This thing will pull in 30+" snook no problem.

Light rigid and smoothest reel ive used. Only had it a few weeks but already cuaght a good flounder and a few nice redfish. Im using 15lb spiderwire ultra cast and had to add 1 of the included washers to get the line lay just right and now it cast like a rocket! And the drag is great.

After a few months of abuse here in Florida, the Nasci has proven to be a solid workhorse. Great substitute if you can't afford a Stradic. This and the Daiwa Bg are the best reels at the price point. I Use the daiwas for my heavier setups, the Nascis on my lighter setups.

Love this reel so far. Casting distance with 6 lb. test is excellent. Retrieve is smooth as silk. Well worth the price. The only downside is that there is no anti reverse switch, but this is a minor consideration and I knew it wasn't included when I bought it.

The reel works very well as other Shimanos have done for me in the past. My only objection is that this reel came without an anti-reverse switch which I have since found out many other brands are following suit. Just another way to cheapen the product.
