This works excellently for me, the quality is what you would expect from Shimano for one of their better mechs.However fitting is not standard. There is no adjustment at the mech itself. You must use either an inline adjuster or the one at the levers, which may be awkward for some. There is a scored line on the mech that the cable MUST follow - which is a good aid for fitting.

The Deore rear mech is fantastic quality for the money! Great features like the solid hanger mount, straight line cable fitting, beefed up parts and bearings plus concealed pull all adds up to a brilliant, quality piece of kit. I'd go so far at to say I'll probably buy these in future rather than my usual XT's!

Decided I needed more gears/teeth for hills on my cycle cross bike works like a charm went from 8 speed 11/30 to 10 speed 11/36 in conjunction with 10 speed sti shifter.

Great looking product that enhance any bike.Managed to fit it in less than 15 minutes (slacking) was able to do adjustments with a bit of fiddling

I'm quite happy with it I'm riding 2x8 at some point I will upgrade to 3x9 and this mech will still be there. Very good quality tanks
