I bought this because the V brake height adjust barrel was shredded on my 2nd hand bike and the brake was kissing the tyre not the rim, fortunately, the whole brake arm could be removed and changed by this one.First of all, this brake set looks nice, it's a clean matt black finish which looks like it will be easy to clean and stay clean for longer. It was very easy to install without instructions and quick to adjust. One observation I had was that the brake alignments were completely out of whack, and required some significant adjustment of the alignment screws in order to get it braking symmetrically.On riding, I immediately noticed an improvement, the braking was much more responsive.

As far as I can tell, the front and rear are identical - apart from the direction of the pads. I bought two sets of rear (cheaper than front at the time) and just swapped round the pads on the one I used for the front. The same principal works in reverse - just buy the cheaper one and then make sure the pads are the right way round (they have direction/rotation arrows on them).

I 26 inch mtb, these brakes are much more powerful than my stock brakes - cause the back to slide or skid ( if you did an emergency stop). I dont get any issue with noise especially in the wet.If you replace back with these brakes you need to replace the fronts with something similar power. If had known i would bought the shimano brakes for front as well.

the old V-brake squeaked like crazy, even changing the pads to Shimano (with correct adjustment) only brought something, with this brake everything was great! The brake bars turn on their own bushing and not directly on the fork pin, so there is no more play and no more squeaking after more than 100km.

I bought this because my bicycle made a squeaky noise every time I hit the brakes and I thought that probably my standard brakes are not that good and needed to be replaced. After I installed the Shimano Deore the squeaking stopped completely and my breaking power is stronger.

Bought these to replace my old rear brakes that had given up the ghost. They were very easy to fit but a bit fiddly to get to work properly. However once this was sorted they work very well in fact much better than my old ones (when they used to work of course!)

first time I purchase on this site I am satisfied with the product the brake calipers are fine enough easy to assemble and once you find the right adjustment with the two spring tension screws the braking is perfect

The brakes fitted a really old bike. The power modulator is really cool. Brakes have a good feel, a little like hydraulic brakes. The best thing is that the design means they won't run the rim or be misaligned.

Superb brakes, easy to fit, easy to adjust and would stop a train.Just have to be really gentle with the back brake or it locks up and the rear wheel slides out.

Definitely an upgrade from what I had on my bike before, these are super sharp and a massive upgrade. Very tight and confidence inspiring.

They seem a little nicer than the tektros they replaced. V-brakes are great, don’t let them tell you otherwise.

They fitted well, and appear to be working.Shame internet based instructions weren't easily foldable though.
