Your cassettes wear out after a few thousand miles and it really effects shifting, its an often overlooked replacement. This cassette is durable looking, a bit heavy (tradeoff for durability) but that doesn't matter if you aren't running time trials or some kind of OCD freak who never really enjoys life. The 36 toothed cog really helps in steep climbs and is about the max you can comfortably stretch a 3x9 drivetrain (I tried a 40 and it was not great). You might need to get a longer b-limit screw but DONT buy a specifically marketed B-screw, just take yours to Ace Hardware and get a longer one taking care to match the thread (shimano is in metric units) by screwing on nuts to test - it will cost less than $1.The 12 toothed smaller cog is better for strong or large riders than 11, its a little less speedy but the chain won't be prone to skip on forceful pedal strokes.

Product arrived well packaged in 3 days. I'm fairly mechanical, but new to working on bikes. Easy to install. Needed lower gears on my late sons GT FORCE which he bought and rode in Texas that had 3x chainring and 11x32. Seemed to suit him well riding here in the Sierra Nevada also but my 55 year old body needed a little help. The 12x36 makes a big difference. Worked with original chain length which had minimal wear. Made only a couple small adjustments on barrel adjuster while on stand. Went out and rode with grandson in dirt, mud, and snow and couldn't be happier with shifting. Would definately recommend this cassette if you need just a little more power for climbing.

Works with a Sora long cage rear mech ( rated to run up to a 32tooth cassette ) and a 48/32 chainset, no extra links required. Cassette ratio is similar to the 11/32 but replaces the 11 ring with the 36. The extra weight is to be expected at this price but the quality is the same as higher models. Extremely easy 1st gear for very steep climbs at the expense of the 11tooth 9th gear used on faster descents. Will fit most modern Shimano 9 speed compatible wheels but will require a spacer on 11 speed free hubs.

I have ordered mine a year ago. Used on my bicycle for regular commute around 10k every day. It started to skip at 8th gear. However, I can't complain about that. first of all, it is a cheap cassette but more importantly, I kept my bike outside not protected from the rain. I also did not clean it very often, once every two months. I would say it's a great product for the price. I have ordered new one with a new chain and it rides very smooth. I would definitely suggest.

I find the price of this HG80 Shimano cassette very good and it works very well on my racing bike. I usually buy a new cassette and chain each year for my racing bike and transfer the old one to my Winter bike. I find the 11-28 works well with my compact chainset as long as you don't cross over your gears. Good item will buy again.

Usual Shimano quality, used on a turbo trainer for my wife, exact match for the cassette on her bike. Fitted without any problems and working fine. Shifting is not amazingly slick but then this is the lower end of the Shimano range.Great price, would recommend for anyone with sora group set looking for replacement

I couldn't test this up properly because I ordered the wrong one but the seller was nice enough to return it and give me a proper one that fit my bike Shimano are always a good brand though and the replacement one that I got was very very good however I cannot mention about this particular product by itself

Replaced my cassette when I replaced a worn chain. Simply to install, assuming you have the right cassette tool, shifts smoothly and quietly.I replaced a 12-36 cassette one for one. I am thinking of buying another one only in 11-28, since I don’t use the granny gears at all. For the price, why not?

I just bought a new Windsor Tourist touring bike..the front triple was okay. but the rear 11-30 9 speed that came with it didnt meet my needs. Soooo, i got this 9 speed 12-36 cluster and its fully interchangeable! Now there's no road i cant ride and no hill i cant climb. and at a fair price!

I converted from an 8 speed cassette to this 9 speed cassette. Since I am using only 2 chain rings I opted for this larger range on the cassette (of newly purchased Raleigh Cadent 3) fitness bike. It was an excellent choice to give range and allow for good speed on large (48T) chain ring.

Good gear range I live near the Pennine’s and hills are everywhere so good low gear range if you find it hard to keep pedalling with a standard 34 11 cassette then this 36 12 is the one for you especially with larger tyres good clean gear shifting and arrived in very good condition

This is third or fourth one I have purchased over the last couple of years. I usually purchase 11-34 teeth, but this was on offer and I went with this one. Easy to install, under 10 minutes to remove the old one and add this one. Would buy again, highly recommend.

I put this on my road bike, along with a long cage derailleur, to get more low gear range, and with the larger jumps b/w cogs, it's not as smooth as my 12-27t cassette, but having those 32t and 36t cogs to better manage hills has made my rides more enjoyable.

11-32 cassette, for the heavy folk that don't like going uphill (especially on your commute when carrying a pretty heavy bag too).Works as it is supposed to.I find myself being able to push harder on the faster downhill sections than I used to.

Parade with the Alivio RD-T4000 and Alivio SL-M4000 controls everything works very well. I have upgraded the crank section to the Alivio FC M4050 and it has given me, which bikes a lot in slopes a significantly better range of gears to use.
