Not a gamer myself but my lad is on PC and PS4 and he was really excited to try these, the latest addition to the Sennheiser headset stable. As the name of the product suggests the PC 373D headset is designed for Windows only, but will work on a MAC, however you won’t be able to access the Windows designed software so you’ll miss out on 7.1 sound. We also tried these on the PS4, but the volume was incredibly low, so we gave up. On a PC though? Beautiful.First impressions on unboxing is fantastic. The headset oozes quality as you would expect from Sennheiser and they seemed absolutely massive and looked huge on the head of my ten-year-old!Build quality is unsurprisingly excellent; from the lovely velvet ear cups to the incredibly impressive noise cancelling microphone with its snazzy black and red meshed design. Due to the sheer luxurious finish of the over-ear cups it is possible to wear these for long periods of time without you ears sweating or aching. As the cups do seem incredibly large – even on my adult head – they really do seal round your ears and block out any sound leakage from the world around you. What you will find unusual is the connector, it is USB only, which shouldn’t be a problem with any PC nowadays I wouldn’t’ve thought, but worth making a note of. This in turn connects to a dongle which processes that lovely 7.1 surround sound. There’s a switch on the dongle where you can choose between stereo and 7.1 surround. There are also LEDs showing red/white depending on which you have chosen. I thought this would be lost on my lad, but he actually said “woah!” out loud when we tried the 7.1 surround sound setting. The bundled software, the Sennheiser Audio program is what does all the EQ magic for you. There are a few settings that you can mess with such as EQ, noise reduction and side tone options, which lets you hear what your voice sounds like over the microphone and through the headset. A reminder again that this software is PC only. This is a mightily impressive headset which looks , feels and sounds excellent. Sennheiser really are the world leaders when it comes to music headphones and I think the same could be said now for gaming headsets. If you are a PC gamer and have the money then you really can’t go wrong with the 373D headset. Stunning!

The box comes with three components; the headphones, USB lead with plug and the sound dongle with a jack plug to connect to the headset. There is no software but rather a double sided quick start sheet. The drivers and software need to be downloaded and installed. Altogether, a very straightforward process. You need to do a couple of tweaks to the sound settings on your PC and you're away. The software offers a few tweaks such as setting the equaliser to gaming or music. There is a noticeable difference in the sound after each but you cannot go in any further and change the levels behind the presets. There is a Dolby on and off switch on the dongle and within the software. This turns the light on the dongle from red to white. If you are doing something that has true surround sound you will notice the difference straight away. On the right hand ear phone there is a volume dial and the microphone is mounted on the left hand side. If you move the microphone to the vertical position you will hear a click as it switches off. A very useful feature if you just want to listen and are not doing any talking. The sound quality is amazing. This set were tried out on music, basically Led Zeppelin. Stairway to Heaven was pretty magical. The sound is as good as the recording. so nothing is lost. My laptop has a pretty good sound system built in with Beats. If you are staying in hotels you really cannot take advantage of this without annoying the other guests. Regular headphones will not cut it, certainly not with anything beyond basic stereo. So playing something like Fallout 4 is quite unusual. You have a screen in front of you and yet the sound is all around. This certainly increases the atmosphere of any games which output in surround. If you need a set of quality headphones that can be used for listening to audio, gaming, conferencing or recording then these are perfect. The noise cancellation system really does compensate for any external din. Ideally you would also treat yourself to a cloth bag to pack them up with you.

Had several Sennheiser headphones series prior to this model and unfortunately found them, after normal abuse, very delicate. Left/Right headphone solder connections at the ear would break from normal ( ish) wear and tear so I took a leap of faith in December 2015 and went with the PC363d. (£180 plus delivery at the time) Turned out to be an outstanding decision.Have unintentially abused these headphones (sooo many hackers.. crash bang slam) but that braided cable is almost indestructible. If you really abuse it, worst case scenario is the sound+mic cables pull out off the doohickey and you have to push them back in.(no soldering irons needed at all)Sennheiser braiding the cable was an inspired decision although the length of the cable can trap your feet and they slam to the ground when you are off for another beer. A Velco strap on the cable comes with it though.I was old school and expecting only a sound card could deliver true 7.1 surround rather than this USB 1.5 inch doohickey hanging off a USB cable BUT no sound card needed. WTF!I was so wrong. In games, makes such a difference and increases the “how you know I was there” moans. There is this illmuminated slider thingey that shows “Engaged” when you slide it to full 7.1 surround. (so cool looking)The Mic is spot on. My buddies on TS3 got weireded out as they say it sounds like I am in their room with them. LOL.I bought these in 2015 and they are still top of the food chain for gamers and audiophiles alike. Price has only gone up since I bought them which is absurd. Either the gamer/audiophile technology has maxed for the last few years or they have reached a summit in headphone technology that it will take some time to surpass. These are the dogs watsits. Dig deep and know these will last you a long time and physically they are almost indestructible.1.5 years+ and I am still prepared to put a positive comment. Nuff said!

These are the flagship of the Sennheiser gaming headset range so I was expecting something special and was not disappointed. The phones are a substantial piece of kit but fit very comfortably with excellent padding. They are also comfortably cool to wear; often phones like these leave you with sweaty ears and this is not the case here. The microphone swings up and out of the way if you are not speaking and there is a positive click as the switch activates. This adds to the feeling of quality. To use the 7.1 surround sound, you need to install the driver software for the phones, this works with the USB sound card supplied. Once activated, the results are amazing and you do have surround sound without the need for multiple speakers. The bass is very good, but I do miss the sensation you get from that additional subwoofer.I have used these for gaming and they are excellent for that. I have also used them for Skype conversations and participation in a number of online presentations and they are again excellent for this, the ease of swinging the mike boom up to mute your voice is something I found very handy.Do I have any criticisms? Well, a couple. The first is the fact the sound is all handled by the phones and that means no subwoofer and I find that means I'm missing something. Possibly that's just my personal preference and I'm sure it will not detract from the overall experience for most people. The only real gripe is that I have both PC and Mac hardware and the device drivers for the USB sound card are not available for Mac. The phones still function perfectly well on the Mac but without the 7.1 functionality. If there was a Mac driver, these would deserve a full 5 stars.

I'll start by saying I actually picked this up for £95 at my local CEX, but after using it for a week or so, I would gladly pay full price for this.Pros:- Very comfortable, the velour earpads and headband are way more comfortable than standard faux leather and don't cause as much heat build up- Even though the construction is nearly 100% plastic, it still feels very premium and can withstand a fair amount of punishment- Open back design creates a very large and immersive soundstage- Overall sound quality is phenomenal, a massive step up from my Corsair HS50 which I used previously- Great microphone quality, I mostly use it just for game chat but even for professional recording/streaming this would get the job doneCons:- Not a huge fan of the 7.1 surround sound, causes a lot of echoing and doesn't sound too good in a lot of games, and definitely doesn't work well for music or films- Not really a con, but something to keep note of, open back headsets like this offer virtually zero noise cancellation, so this type of design isn't the best for people who live in noisy environments.- Since it's USB only, I had to buy a separate 1.5mm cable to hook it up to my DAC which doesn't have a USB slot, for this price, I'd have wanted an optional 1.5mm cable to be includedAll in all, this is probably the best gaming headset I've tried, I'm by no means an audiophile but I recognise good sound quality when I hear it. For me, the only downside is the headset not coming with a 1.5mm cable so I had to spend another £10 so I could hook this up to my DAC, but this is still an easy 5* rating.

4 Stars awarded: Would have been 5 if volume levels were better.More Detail:i.e. (Moving from an analogue headset, the sound is cleaner from less interference than my previous headset, but my analogue set-up was better able to amplify the audio signal). This applies to both the microphone volume and headphones volume. In my view: There is improvement required on:1. How you can't reduce the volume to zero on the side control for headset volume (same problem as Sennheiser Game One/1 headset). There is about 10% volume left, maybe more when you try to zeroise it, so you can't completely isolate (i.e. mute audio via the headset's inbuilt control).2.Audio boost for the mic volume is not stellar performance - although the microphone quality is fine (friends have said it sounds the same as an analogue equivalent headset - the Sennheiser Game One).Positive Summary: I don't have any problems with the headset's comfort level, I have used it for work related VOIP calls over Google's voice chat and for home chat functions like multiplayer VOIP. No real complaints to report (I have just been overly critical because I had a reference point, the Game One headset - and it was less comfortable than this headset (because of over-pressure on the headset). So this is more comfortable from my experience.Although I gave it 4/5, I think at £90 its a 5/5 in reality for what it does achieve with audio clarity.

This 373D headset seems to be the top of the Sennheiser range. Very comfortable after three hours wear, admittedly I was using them to listen to some jazz rather than gaming. Downloading the drivers from the Sennheiser website was no problem and that's all you need to get started. What I thought was really nice were the sound options available with Audio panel, opened from the task bar. With the Equaliser there are only three options: Music; Esport; Game but click Esport and the bass is drastically reduced, then press Dolby on the dongle and surround sound clicks in to give a wonderful audio feel while listening to jazz (currently Brubeck and Hampton). The very smooth wheel volume control on the right earpiece was clever idea and headset comes with a very generous three hundred centimetre cable that ends ending with a USB plug.Like another reviewer I'm not into gaming so I gave the headset to my son to try out. Predictable he raved over their performance, especially while playing League of Legends with some friends, he said the Dolby surround sound delivered some awesome effects. Of course he did say he would never spend so much money on a gaming headset despite the brilliant quality. Now the dilemma is do I keep these to listen to my jazz or give them to my lad for his gaming?

tl;dr: Best headphones I've ever invested in - sound quality is fantastic for its price and excellent for gaming and listening to music.I bought these because another reviewer told me that these were very good and perfect for using when playing games, listening music and talking to people. If you're looking for medium headsets then these are the perfect ones for you, The earcups feel really nice and fit perfectly around my ear even though my ears are quite large they just slip on without hesitation; they give no fatigue when I am wearing them for long periods of time. However, I have some cons to these headsets: the software is quite limited to 3 sections (EQ, Mic and sidetone)and with the presets I only use one which is music - this would be better if you could customise the EQ settings. Secondly, the microphone picks up a lot and sometimes when I am re-adjusting the microphone it would go over my mouth and my friends would stop me breathing down the mic as it picks it up so prominently and also the mic isn't detachable so it removes the aesthetic of the headphones when I want to take it out on walks or anywhere else.

I got these sennheiser PC 373D 7.1 to replace my uncomfortable Rog strix wireless headset.Opening the box I was happy to find that they were well build and comfortable to put on, I downloaded the software and installing and setup was easy, they are not enclosed for noise suppression they are open backed so you will hear your surroundings, that is what I was after, so if your in a noisy room they may not be your best option. They sound is really good, with a clear warm sound and not to base heavy. The mic is excellent quality with good noise reduction, in fact the best sounding mic I have had on a headset, can't fault it, people have commented on the clarity and quality in games and on Skype. The volume control in on the left side speaker, its OK but can be a bit fiddly until you get used to it, then it's okay.It comes with a two year guarantee.Comfort- 9Sound quality-10Mic quality-10Build quality-8Well worth buying I do not think you willbe disappointed.

The best gaming headset I've ever had(I have had a lott), this is my second time purchasing this specific headset, it's been the best I have ever used for PC gaming with nice crisp detailed audio and a comfortable fit to my head.I have had razer, hyper x , logitech and turtle beach - none came close to this now years old headset.I can't say if the newer sennheiser are better or not I bought this as I knew what I was getting and it still had the surround dac.The software is fine , a bit basic But more than enough to keep me happy.I was happy to see these also could work with dolby atmos (separate software purchase though)on my pc.I keep an eye in gaming headsets and as you can see from my date of purchase,- this one that's a few years old is strangely still the best overall for me personally.

Brilliant headset for anyone that loves Music / HiFi as well as loves gaming. The 7.1 mode is amazing, especially in games like BF4 / BF1 where it comes into its own. For other games such as Player Unknown Battlegrounds it definitely gives you an edge for hearing sounds around you.Tip for Windows 10 users : In your sound settings there are two devices that appear when you connect the headset. One called Sennheiser Audio and another which has a headset icon. Disable the headset icon and leave the Sennheiser Audio device enabled as this is the one that gives you 7.1 Audio.Overall the sound quality of these blow everything else I have tried out of the water and provide you with a very high qualitylistening experience.

So far so good. Sound is excellent. It's warm and rich, without it being pitchy or muffled. The microphone, I'm told I come through really clear and not quiet. My brother has these as well, and I hear him crystal clear. This is over twitch, formally the curse client. They're really comfortable, and as I have a big head, they don't make me feel like my head is in a vice being slowly crushed over long gaming sessions.Sound for music and film is also good. Which is usually a problem for gaming headsets. But, again they produce a well rounded sound.Cable length is excellent, and not thick it creates cable noise when it moves.I've only had them for just under a week. But if anything changes I'll update my review.

Lovely set of headphones for the PC whether gaming or listening to Spotify. As a rule I never use microphones so just have it folded unobtrusively upwards but I imagine if you do you'd be pretty happy with how they're incorporated into the headphones; the length and curvature is nicely designed and easily moveable for optical angle. They are very comfortable as the outer padding encompasses the ear leaving a nice air gap between ear and speaker. Bass works well and I've noticed during gaming that the sound is very layered so that speech, music and sound effects all sound very distinguishable from each other when coming through simultaneously.

Great Headset and Brilliant Sound quality.Earcups are very soft on the ears, the headset is not too tight nor too loose.Microphone quality is second to none, thats the review from everyone i talk to in games and on Skype!

Amazing sound quality, usb sound card makes the audio sound great too. Super comfortable, maybe a little too tight but im sure that will go away with use. Pretty much 10/10 headphones.
