coming in at an RRP at time of writing of a penny short of 60 pounds, which is not unreasonable for over ear headphones, but far from budget, they fall into that middle ground where you often don't quite know for sure what you're getting. Headphones in this price can be bass heavy but lack any kind of balance and clarity, they can be clear with no bass, or they can be just, well, functional and flat. These feel like the last option. I can't fault them for clarity or balance. But they're not exciting. They don't wow. They're just...exactly what you'd expect from sennheiser in this price point. Is that good? Well, yes I suppose it always is good when something is exactly as you'd expect.Sound quality: As I already said - Well balanced across all frequencies that I can hear.Dare I say, almost perfectly balanced. It feels like the "response curve" would be as close to flat as you ever see. Which I might add is completely at odds with the claim of "powerful bass response" that's printed on the package. Perhaps it depends what you're listening to, perhaps it means "powerful bass if you turn it up on your equaliser", I did try, but...at least on my phone's equaliser I didn't get any ear shattering bass. Your mileage may vary but if you're after seriously bass heavy cans then I would suggest you're going to need to look for something else. Mid range is, well, not boxy but doesn't jump out, high end is unspectacular but clear.Sound insulation is not bad. They claim, quite rightly, to block ambient noise and to some extent they do. But they're not noise cancelling headphones by a long way. Sound leakage is also minor once they're sealed on your ears so they're well suited to public transport.Build quality: Folding earphones always carry extra risk because of the hinges. They do look a bit fragile to me, from what I can see, it's a plastic outer hinge on a metal rod. Plastics are quite strong these days but I would definitely be careful with them, not put them in the bottom of a bag of books or sit on them. The finish and aesthetics are really good. Even the smell is nice (a sort of plasticky leather smell from the "leatherette").Comfort: No issues here. Over ear headphones at this price range so often mess up on comfort, from the really bad head squeezers to the sweaty ear inducing leather cushions, it's really nice to have some that fit well without any compromise. the height adjusts on the cups instead of the headband adjusting, but it's the same end result. One thing of note, I had to have the ear cups positioned perfectly to achieve the best audio quality. I found positioning was actually surprisingly critical. I'm not entirely sure why. A little off, half a centimetre too high for example, and you lost a fair bit of treble and clarity in the sound. Not an issue for me but an observation as I've never seen this happen with over ear headphones before, although it's very common with in ear types.Button: The button works for me in android on a nexus phone, it pauses the music too.A note on fashion headphones: It comes to my attention that especially recently there's a distinct split between "fashion" headphones which sport a brand name and are frankly rubbish in technical capability, and actually well engineered quality headphones which aren't a walking logo. Sennheiser make good headphones, proper headphones where the focus is on the sound first, and aesthetics second. You can't compare them to "logo headphones". Well, technically you can and should. Side by side comparisons are a great idea.Summary: For the money, you can't go far wrong. These headphones present as comfortable, lightweight and well balanced in sound quality. They lack any surprises good or bad. The hinges look like they need to be treated with care and could be a point of failure with rough handling, but the payoff is a much smaller size when folded. They look good, and although incredibly light, they don't feel cheap. As with all things, it's easy to say "you get what you pay for" and if your budget is higher, then spend more and you'll not regret it - but not if you're wearing them outside - expensive stuff just makes you a target.

Unlike the HD599 headphones I've also reviewed here which are an upgrade from the HD598 series, the HD569s are a "new" product in the Sennheiser 5 range, being closed back.Closed back headphones like these usually have a narrower soundstage (that is : the music sounds closer together in your head) but greater bass and much better isolation meaning the outside world is more cut off than it is with open backed headphones, and also that other people can't hear what you're listening to. So how do the HD569s fare?Firstly, it is clear when listening to these headphones that they sound good. The mid range of all of the different genres of music I've tried is always outstandingly accurate, well textured and full sounding, without being too peaky or bright. Vocals are nice and clear with excellent tonal reproduction of both male and female vocals. In short; these headphones undeniably make music sound good! The HD569s are easy to drive too; they've obviously been designed with one eye on the portable device market, so no external amping is required to get a big sound out of them.I have to say though, I was expecting more from the bass end of things. These are definitely not the headphones for you if you're a basshead, with the EDM I tried sounding a bit light and other, bass-heavy tracks missing that warm sub-bassy sound that vibrates your head. This isn't to say that these headphones don't have any bass reproduction; they do - but it is very restrained and controlled. For classical, indie and rock this gives the music a quality, balanced sound so it isn't too much of an issue. But, if you want or expect head shaking bass, you might want to look elsewhere. As expected the soundstage on the HD569s is narrower than the 599s (or my trusty 598SEs) but, compared to other closed back headphones I've had and listened to over the years, still surprisingly wide with good instrument separation and a pleasingly broad sound. Sennheiser really have done a good job with the soundstage on these headphones although there is a trade off I've discovered; isolation isn't as good as expected. The sound still leaks from the headphones, albeit slightly less than from open backed models, and they're not especially isolating either.Looks and build quality wise these meet the usual good Sennheiser standards without really oozing a premium feel. The headphones themselves are made of plastic and look it too - but are strong and not at all flimsy. They are also very comfortable to wear, with the headband being nicely padded along with each earphone. Whilst they might not look or feel like the most premium of cans, when you put them on they are uber comfortable even during long listening sessions, and most of the parts and pads are replaceable too which is always nice.Lastly it is worth mentioning that these headphones come with a couple of different cables; there's a long 3m cable and a shorter, 1.2m cable which also has an inline microphone. This isn't a full Apple/Android controlling cable as you sometimes get, but it is a useful addition nonetheless. All in all then these are comfortable, balanced sounding headphones which are guaranteed to please your ears - as long as you don't crave bass that wobbles your head.

The HD 2.10's by Sennheiser comes nicely packaged in a smart box, though I must say as someone who likes to keep boxes of certain products. I was disappointed at how they sealed the flap; rather than the typical little and discreet sticky tape to hold it down, they've stuck it from the inside which made it a struggle to open and resulted in the box ripping (a personal pet hate, but I'm sure I'm not the only one).Inside the box you will find the usual product documents and the headphones. The headphones have quite a basic style, nothing that really shouts out. It features parallel fixed audio wires which then of course merges into one further down the line (It's been awhile for me having headphones this type of wire,I've been so used to a singular detachable wire from my past couple of headphones). There is a wire slider which can tighten and loosen the gap between the two wires.Whilst the construction of these headphones is primarily plastic, they don't actually feel like your typical pair cheap headphones, they feel of decent (not top) quality; this plastic construction and thin design makes these very lightweight. A feature I'm not used to seeing on headphones but actually like on this pair are the way the earcups can be adjusted, rather than relying on a clip that protrudes from the headband, the earcups clip over the headband and act as a slider; there is decent balance of friction for ease of adjustability, but not so it slides freely. Though one thing I do want to point out, unless I'm blind, there doesn't seem to be a left and right indicator on the earcups. As for comfort, earpads are indeed very soft and comfortable as advertised, but I can only wear them for approximately an hour before feeling a pinch and slight ache on my ears (probably doesn't help as a glasses wearer). The audio quality output on these headphones are superb considering the price tag. I'm a lover for a nice kick of bass when warranted and oh boy do these deliver a decent kick, just the way I like it; plus the audio in general is very clear. If you're a fan of on-ear headphones, want something lightweight and very good audio quality without braking the bank, these are definitely ideal.✔ Pros:✓ Lightweight.✓ Easy to adjust.✓ Very good audio quality.✓ Decent bass output.- Neutral:- Not the most stylish pair of headphones.✖ Cons:✘ Not great for long periods at a time.

During the first few months of using these, I noticed that after a few hours of use (2-3) the force of the headphones on my ears was so strong almost unbearable and I had to take them off. This is probably the biggest letdown of these headphones (or the biggest advantage depending on whether or not you think you spend too long on your computer), the outer edges of the ears and the tragus may ache more. To combat this, I recently decided to wear them upside down to change the position of pressure points so I can stay glued to my computer for longer.I've had these headphones for about 2 or 3 years - if youre one of those people who wraps and unwraps the cable several times around their finger, you'll find 1. that if you do it enough times you will succeed in not being able to straighten it out again (ever) and 2. the wire sheathing might get a little loose and slowly split lengthways day by day [and that's when i decided to write this review ihavetoomuchtimeonmyhands].The 90 degree connector is fine - but depends on your use case. If the socket for your headphones is 90 degrees from you (e.g. laptop, phone) works as intended. If you use an audio interface where the socket faces you the 90 degree bend doesnt help at all and will gradually loosen connections inside the cable at stress points if that makes sense. Also dont expect the cable to detach from the headphones like the 2.30s. Not that it makes a significant difference anyway.Otherwise the sound is good enough for me. I'm no audiophile, i just know that the sound different from other headphones i've had (just different not better, not worse). If the frequency response really bothers you that much more, i'm sure you can just get an equaliser app (or just get a better pair of headphones).2.20 vs 2.30. Theres literally no difference functionally. I guarantee you will not be able to hear a difference between 18kHz and 20kHz, and i doubt a difference if four ohms will change anything either (especially on a laptop or phone). the designs are also pretty similar. Conclusion: i would only spend £35 max. The prices on the 2.2 and 2.3 keep interchanging so just get whatever's cheaper. k bye.

These are some really great headphones. For most music listening I use Sennheiser Momentum on-ear, which are still considered one of the best sounding headphones on the market. These headphones match the great sound of the momentum, if not excel it. The sound is extremely well balanced with great mid-frequencies, as well as clear highs and lows meaning they sound great for all types of music, especially classical which has a greater dynamic range than pop-music. This makes them especially great for me as a composer. I am also a gamer and have been using the Sennheiser Game Zero for some time. I can honestly say the sound quality of the HD 569 are is far better than the Game Zero...even though the HD569 is currently £20 on Amazon! They are almost entirely made of plastic, which is one small down-side but they feel very sturdy and have a good weight to them without being too heavy for long use. The exchangeable cables are a great option because it means they can be used for both MP3 players and pc's, and also higher-end hifi systems that use the larger 6.3mm plugs. All-round a great pair of headphones that has a wide range of uses.Update:1. After using the headphones for a wider range of audio, I have noticed clipping and distortion at the higher frequency spectrum (Was watching a horror movie and screams, high strings etc where VERY distorted). This could cause a problem for a lot of people.2. Inside each of the cups is a little triangular part that sticks out a little and I have started to notice that my ears touch these whenever I wear the headphones and it soon becomes very noticeable, making the headphones quite a bit less comfortable (I'd almost stretch to say they have become uncomfortable). I don't have particularly larger ears, nor do they stick out but I believe the main problem is the thin padding on the HD 569, which means after a bit of use (keeping in mind they've only been out a few days), the ear cup pads become very thin leaving little padding around the ears.

When offered a pair of closed back headphones i was eager to try them.Closed back vs open back - each have there uses.Openback gets a wider soundstage but leak sound, closed back a more intimate direct sound feeling that don't leak sound.Like all sennhesier 500 series headphones i found them comfortable both on the ears and head with a well padded headband and soft earcup, they are lightweight too but feel heavier than the HD599.Unlike the 559/599 the earcups are a neoprene material not a soft microfiber. Still comfortable but I think will make your ears sweat. It's the price you pay for closed headphones.Typical sennheiser sound as expected regarding excellent crispness to the highs withoutharshness and a decent soundstage. The soundstage is obviously not quite a wide due to being a closed design but it is pleasing and useful. Good for home studio environment - Sound doesnt leak out to annoy people near you and outside noise is blocked more than open design phonesWhat they are not are bass monsters infact I thought they would have a heavier bass being closed not open design. If want booming crushing bass look elsewhere but these still offer a crisp detailed sound with a bass that is present just not punchy. The 599 and 559 have punchier bassline.I found the mid range too pronounced making the HD569 sound a bit hollow. Reducing the midrange on the equaliser solved this issue and gave a more balanced sound in line with the HD559.Obviously the boosted midrange is to ensure clear vocals when used with a smartphone and the inline mic.Personally i'm not convinced these are worth the RRP for home use when the HD559 sound better and the HD599 aren't much more to buy but if you need closed back they are probably worth a try.

I already own a pair of Sennheiser Momentum 1s, which are pretty stunning headphones. These Sennheiser HD2.10s are about a third of the price of the Momentums, so I was slightly sceptical as to how they'd hold up against such touch competition. As it is, they do pretty well. The HD2.10s do a good job of producing a transparent, detailed sound presentation. They certainly feel comfortable when wearing them for long periods. At no point have I felt like removing them because they're too tight over my ears or in slightly the wrong position on my head. They're also easy to adjust. They're constructed of lightweight plastic, which is kind of okay, but not in the same league as the Momentums,build-wise at least. They also fold easily, making them an excellent partner when commuting.I've tended to find that the sound is slightly biased towards the lower bass frequencies - which is fine when I'm listening to poor quality MP3s on my iPod - but not so welcome when I'm listening via my hi-fi amplifier, which already does a pretty good job with the sound presentation. I would suggest that whether or not you'll like these headphones somewhat depends on the types of music you prefer listening to. Possibly for classical music, they're a little too heavy-handed (Nils Frahm's "Spaces", for instance, lost some clarity and unhelpfully added unwanted bass frequencies - whereas rock & particularly pop music fared much better as a lot of modern pop music tends to sound quite "bright" and benefits from the lower frequencies being boosted).Overall, they make for a great spare pair of headphones, which are great for listening to music when travelling.

These headphones are all about bass. Listen to something with some deep, pounding bass at high volume and they will really give your ears a good pounding, in the best possible way. There's a price for this, and the trade-off is the treble and mid-range not quite as it should be. It's not bad, by any means, but it lacks some detail and clarity when compared with high-end headphones. However, as it happens, you don't need the very last ounce of detail more often than not if you serve up a sound that is a pleasure to listen to, and these are really great headphones to simply enjoy listening to music with. They just sound nice, with everything presented in a way that is pleasing to the ear,as well as a big bass kick when the music provides it. They sit snugly over the ears, sealing effectively against external noise without clamping themselves uncomfortably to your head, and though they get warm and a little sweaty after prolonged listening, not unacceptably so. These are very efficient headphones, and are easy to drive alarmingly loud. The cord is 140cm long, and the pause/play button worked just fine when used with my phone.Ultimately, whilst these are not audiophile headphones to let you savour complex, intricately constructed music, they are great headphones to wear and just enjoy listening to music. I love how they sound, and they encourage long listening sessions. I really liked these headphones, hey excel with bass-heavy MOBO like Luniz classic "I got five on it", but they were a pleasure with everything I listened to. If I communted on public transport, I'd be wearing these on every journey.

I have owned about 10 pairs of sennheiser headphones over the years. They are my preferred brand, and I think the Sennheiser HD480's that I have used constantly since 1992 have shaped my expectations of what headphones should be like. These are not quite in the same league as the 480's (they have a very flat response, where these are more tuned for bass) but for a mid range product they do a credible job. The specs speak for themselves with a Frequency response of 18-18,000 and sensitivity of 110 dB so you know that you are getting decent headphones. What surprised me though was how smooth and balanced they were straight off. These are musical, they have a strong bass response - but it is well balanced and doesn't dominate.I expect them to improve with use as well.As folding 'phones these are designed for portability - and it would have been nice if at least a little bag was included. They are very light, but seem robust enough. I found no marking to indicate left and right - slightly annoying. [Edit - thanks to Bob's comment I have now found the markings hidden at the ends of the band]. The wire is the right length for portability and it seems strong enough and not prone to tangle. They are comfortable on my ears - you can wear these for hours without discomfortOverall for closed back headphones at a reasonable price I think these are good. They are not perfect, but for a lightweight / portable on ear 'phone these will please most people.

I have a long-term association with Sennheiser headphones. Long, long ago, when my 'portable music' was recorded on C60 and C90 cassette tapes, it was generally Sennheiser headphones I used.Since then I have used other brands, of varying quality - but when an opportunity presented itself to review a modern Sennheiser offering I jumped at it.So what do these headphones give you?Basically they give you gorgeous, rich, crisp, 'in depth' sound. They give you lovely manufacturing quality - I've used headphones that 'felt cheap', but these don't. They feel solid. They feel reassuring. They just have an aura of being 'well made' rather than manufactured down to a minimum price. In short they just look and feel like damn good kit.Add to that that they're comfortable and better than many headphones at blocking out unwanted, external noise and you have a winning combination. In short, they're just good. Damn good. This is what a pair of 'medium weight' headphones SHOULD be.I recommend them, and my own pair will certainly become my 'standard' pair of music headphones.

My preference is always for on the ear headphones. I have tried numerous ear bud types but just don't like them.I have in the past bought two pair of Sennheiser PX100 Headphones the latter being the Sennheiser PX 100-II Foldable Open Mini On-Ear Headphones. I have always considered them excellent in this price range and saw no need to spend more on set of headphones. This pair of Sennheiser , HD2.20s, On-Ear Closed Back Headphone with In-line Remote - Black have some differences I did not welcome. They are slightly heavier, the lead has changed from the left earphone to the right and the removable and replaceable foam ear pads have gone. The ear pads are now a flexible plastic non replaceable.Animprovement is the right angle 3.5mm jack plugThe sound quality described as powerful bass response is good but I still prefer the PX100 open headphone to this closed backed model.Closed back means you hear less ambient sound such as when you put them on and then that is the exact moment someone wants to speak to you.

Terrific design, I especially like the fact the ear pads slide up and down inside the band frames which are a static height. They also have both arms folding inwards and it doesnt matter which folds first. Exceptionally comfortable. One design change I'd like to see is the wire going into the headphones be a 3.5mm jack to allow you to remove the wire completely. Very light weight and a joy to wear them.iPhone 6 Plus on iOS 9 and iOS 10 didn't seem to take advantage of the mic mute button skipping songs like the standard iPhone cable allows. Bass is more than acceptable and not much noticeable difference between standard and bass booster in iPhone settings menu either.Seem to hand a whole host of frequencies without sounding poor.Without a baggie though I can see the faux leather ripping after throwing them in your rucksack a few hundred times...

I ve bought some models before this one where the reviews were good but once i tested them i ve been disappointed by the quality of sound a few times (what are people listening too ? Maybe they need hearing aids ?)... so I wasn't sure as I have a pair of the previous model and they sound a treat without breaking your bank ... actually these are pretty much same level ... i listen to queens of the stone age or ac/dc whilst working out at the gym and have to say that the cord is the right length ... they are supa light and more impressive is the noise reduction (much better than the previous Seinhs) ..i ve tried some bose bluetooth over £300 and didn't feel there was much of a difference in sound quality (although I tested them in a fairly quite shop environment)... So for everyday day life these suit me ...Read full review...

I've never owned a Sennheiser set before but from friends I've heard that its a great product that delivers good quality sound for a solid price. Whilst at the cheaper end of a number of Sennheiser products the item promised, "immersive sound", "lighweight and comfortable" with "emphasis on the bass."The headset is defintiely comfortable and quite light compared to a lot of the other ones out there. They're also very good at blocking out external sound. However I don't tend to listen to a lot of music that has a ton of bass associated with it, so that feature can feel that it overwhelms the ears a bit. That said you can control that with changing the settings on most MP3 players to get something that you feel very happy with. All round its a great set of headphones that I will be using for quite some time.

These are good, comfortable headphones that, for the current price of around £59, represent fair value. As ever with headphones from the cheaper end of the market the bass response is the aspect that differentiates these 'phones from its bigger brothers and competitors. Try a similar sized, but £200+ pair of Bose if you want to hear what I mean. However, for the price, you get perfectly good sound coupled with a great deal of comfort and a reasonable amount of outside sound-deadening (due to their being on ear, not sound cancelling). They fold up and feel robustly made, with the ear cushions bring quite thick. The trebles are not too harsh and bass is OK, really.Cable is a good length with a mini jack and they stay comfortable if you wear them for a long, Just don't expect too much your money.
