Cast your mind's back, the year is 1988 and you have just got your sweaty teenage hands on the latest and greatest console ever made, the wonderful 16bit Sega Megacrive, yes sir, you are now the coolest kid around with this bad boy. The NES , who want's that , Mario is just a fad and it'll never catch on, Sega is definatley the way forward.Stepping back into the present day and unfortunatley that same thought is one which fell on the buyers of Beta max and mini disk players , remember those. But now Sega want's to give it's fans a chance to redeem themselves after buying the spawn of satan that is the ps3,the Sega Megadrive collection has the greatest games ever to be released on the Megadrive on one disk and ready to be played in HD.48 Megadrive games in total appear on the disc as well as a few unlockable extra's , and luckily I am not going to name and review all of them as this information is available on Wikipedia. What I will do is grab a cup of tea and play the Doctor who theme tune as I comment on some of the best of the best that the Megadrive collection has to offer, a top 10 of the top 48 shall we say.Bear in mind these are based on my young childhood eyes and less my criticising usual self .Well in at No.10 is Vectorman. This was a run 'n gun platformer and looking back may have had some influence on the movie Wall.e.The game is based in 2049 and see's orbots staying on Earth after Humans polluted and litterd the planets, and have since moved off to colonise further planets in space. You control Vectorman who is in charge of getting rid of the "Radioactive ooze", I have to admit I question his solution as what he does is pump it into the sun. As he returns to earth he finds it is in chaos and takes it upon himself to save everyone. The game is clear and uses pre made 3D models, so it does look pretty retro by todays standard. His main weapon of choice is a ball gun which resembles Samus in Metroid.Overall the game has 16 levels and a few hours of fun, the sequel can also be found on the disc.Moving on to No.9 ...... Phantasy star 2This is a classic roleplaying game which see's you meander around the galaxy killing your enemies in dungeons and woodlands.Using a turn based system the game resembles a crude Final fantasy with 4 character's being used at one time, capable of multiple skills and abilities. The games range of characters, as well as it's pioneering in storytelling which is said to of influenced todays games, it earns a place in the top 10.Sneaking in at No.8 is Bonanza Bros. This is another 2D platforming game in which you sneak through a range of premises full of guards in order to steal a handful of objects, before making it to the roof and escaping on a rather flamboyant spaceship.I'll admit now this game was pretty bad, but it's the total steal of Super Mario gone bad that I love. 2 brothers , one red and one green run around the level shooting and sneaking to steal whatever they can. These include banks, mansions and an art gallery, but here is a tid-bit of wonderful gaming trivia. In the origional Japanese version the two brothers are theives , wereas in the American version they are testing the places security system, this just goes to show that even a good 20 years ago they were worried about the impact of games. This game was so bad it was great and gave some good CO-OP laughs as well.Swimming in at No.7 was my sisters favorite game on the Megadrive, Ecco the dolphin and so probably deserves a place in the top 10 for that.I'll be honest I dont remember much of this game as it didn't have guns or shiny things, what I do recall is that you swam around a big 2D sea happily singing, swimming and ramming into enemies at high speed.Apparently it sold more than sonic the hedghog which is a complete mystery, evidently if the game was to be re-released I put forward 2 level ideas , one set in the gulf of mexico and the other set in the water of Japan.Falling into place at No.6 is Dr. Robotnik's mean bean machine.Again a wondeful rip-off game , this is essentially a game played by 2 people , playing tetris with jelly beans on 2 sides of the screen and the one with the highest score wins. As well as fighting a Sonic boss at the end of every level, I loved this as I could play it against my sis and it was more even ground between us.Many good memories. In to the dizzying heights of No.5 and Golden axe.Im also getting to the point were I realise what rose tinted glasses I had of these games as a childhood, this game is Conan with a new name. A heart hack 'n slash adventure which see's you charging through levels taking down everyone in your path to reach a castle, where you will face the final boss. This 2D scroller provided much fun and a decent enough story, you could play as a few characters but my favorite was the dwarf who had a great war axe.Spinning in at No.4 is Sonic spinball. What more could you want , I love a good bit of pinball and I love platforming games. Thankfully Sega chucked the two in a cement mixer and made a game in which the platform levels were essentially a big game of pinball with a Boss at the end. This game was quirky to say the least and wasn't the first type of Sonic pinball , platformer. Evidently it was popular enough to release several pinball style games, strange indeed but lovely for the attempt at innovation.Flying in at No.3 is the coolest sounding title on the Megadrive, Super Thunder Blade. This was a shooting game in which you controlled a Helicopter , shooting town at rebels with machine guns and missiles galore, this rates so highly because it was actually a release title and so set the standard both in fun and visuals.Unfortunatley the game only had 4 stages , although they were immensley difficult. So ...... the top 2 and just missing out on first place is Streets of Rage. This is yet another 2D side scroller, but their are no weapons and their are no platforms, this game went with all out karate combat and what is cooler to young boy than backflips and violence. The game had 6 rounds in which you must defeat all your enemies to reach the final round 7, and face off against the big boss. You could also use power-ups in the shape of police cars, these would speed to your aid and fire missiles at the enemies and let you put your feet up for a bit.3 playable characters in all , a boxer, martial artist and judo. I generally went with Judo as my Dad was almost an olympic Judo fighter (as he has continually told me and all who visit through the years , bless him) and because it was the most exciting combat system. So onto the big Final'e and I wonder wether you guessed, It has to be by default the biggest title the Megadrive had ............ Its Sonic the Hedghog. The game was a side scroller which packed in a crazy amount of speed which would send your eyes into a frenzy trying to keep up.The object of the game was to stop DR. Robotnik from getting the chaos emeralds and then doing whatever it is bad guys do. ( I often think bad guys are like dogs chasing cars, if they ever did manage to take over the world or kill bond , they wouldn't know what to do with themselves after).7 zones in total and I dont think I paid attention to the story once, It was the colours, the speed and the excitement which drew me in and up until a few years ago Sonic remained one of my favorite franchises.I realise this review was a little long , so thanks so much to those who read it and hope I have bought back some memories of your own or new ones to be had.Overall this is one of my favorite games to pick up and play, with the addition of Trophies to be had and some intresting interviews it's one to get.

i collect vintage video games and am a fan of the sega megadrive(genesis). the games are coluurful, fun and fast paced. this game emulates the originals almost perfectly and i highly recomend it.this set contains 40 classic megadrive games and 9 unlockable master system/arcade games as well as unlockable interviews with some of the games creators.after loading the game up you will see a menu screen which allows you select a game.the best games include:streets of rage 1,2,3:these games are classic beat em ups which require you to walk the the streets and mash everybody in your way with your fists and a variety of weapons.the graphicscare colourful and detailed with large sprites and a badass sound track.each game gets progressively better with the third being the best by far(in my opinion). the games improve in terms of speed and special attacks. the third is insane in terms of speed and thevamount of enemies on the screen at one time.sonic the hedgehog 1,2,3:why ive never been a huge sonic fan (mario fanboy) it cant be denied that the graphics and speed of this game is unbelievably good for the time. the second one is my favourite as that is the most fun to play.golden axe 1 and 2:classic beat em ups with colourful graphics and good music.these games are very difficult but fun at the same time. the third is included but is not nearly as good.vectorman:a fast paced sidescroller which involves you blowing things to smitherines as well as having to gane powerups and some puzzle solving. the graphics are notably very good with a 3d look. this was probably because was a later game as designed to go up against nintendos donkey kong country.gain ground:one of my most favourite games.tis is a stategy game where you must clear all the enemies on screen or get all your characters to the exit point. you start of with 3 average characters and must collect more along the way. each character has different abilities which you will need for different levels. why the games graphics/speed are not amazing, the games addictiveness makes up for it.e-swat-good game quite hard but alot of fun.sidescrolling shootem up.phantasy star ll,lll,lV: never really liked rpgs but these games are quite entertaing and have a fun plot/story.bad games:echoe the dolphin 1,2: some people like these alot but i think they are very boring and annoying. you play as a dolphin searching for your friends, this involves you searching the waters exorsting every possible space and blasing things with sonar. the graphics are admitadly good.sonic 3d: i think sega forgot what made sonic fun, the fast pace and level bosses!. this game has you searching a 3d island collecting coins really not great.sonic spinball: its spinball! such a boring and repetitive game, sega definitely wasnt milking the series was they?flicky:thus didnt need to be a 16 bit game, all you do is collect baby chicks, this could be an atari game.THE BEST GAME!!!...shinobi 3: this game is so much fun! this game is a sidescroller where you play as shinobi, the goal is simple:get to the end of the stage;is this easy...no it isnt, you must fight through enemies using kuni, your sword and your kick/jump kick. you must also crawl across ceilings and use a wall jump to navigate to different parts of the stage, where at the end you must fight a challenging boss. there is a lot a variety in the levels including riding a horse and taking an elevator to new levels. the graphics are amazing with huge detailed sprites and the music is just kick-ass!bottom line if you whant to play amazing games without having to falk out for a megadrive, then i highly recomend your purchase of this item.

Being a kid of the 90's I've occasionally had the urge to grab the old Sega or SNES out from the loft and have an hour down memory lane, controlling a little sprite as they were called, usually from left to right for a repetitive bit of gaming. I've also painstakingly had to bid on eBay for some old games because mine were lost or broken, then I discovered the old machines don't work on LCD screens so when I saw this game was a selection box of 40 games I was clicking `proceed to checkout' before I knew what I was doing.I couldn't wait to get button mashing and despite almost two decades since I'd played some of these classics, it all came flooding back,I was pulling off old level select cheats and special moves almost automatically, it was like I was possessed. To go into all the games is pointless, if you are contemplating buying this you'll already know why you are - will it be to try and complete level 1 of Sonic in under 30 seconds? Or to finally slay that boss in Golden Axe? Well, for me it was Streets of Rage 2 that got whacked on first, upper cuts and swinging pipes aplenty. Oh joy.I did have to take stock and remove my rose coloured glasses however before I got carried away. It's amazing how things have changed as the games that would once have kept me and a few mates up the whole night on a sleepover had lost their appeal somewhat, and as much as I wanted to rekindle my childhood enthusiasm, it just waned after a few hours. This isn't a big surprise, it's just that the depth of games are so much, well, deeper these days. But for a quick time killer without being concerned with organising a war or escaping a labyrinth within a tomb in Outer Mongolia, these oldies do just that. What did strike me as I started getting back into it though is how horrendous the sound is! I've got a surround sound set up and OK this game doesn't do 5.1, but I found myself flicking it off anyway because it was literally doing my head in. I play the games in silence now.You have to bear in mind that games used to retail at around the forty quid mark back then and not taking inflation into account you're getting 800 quids worth of games here for just over a tenner - now that's a bargain in anyone's book so even if they don't blow you away anymore, its still worth it for reminiscence sake....For those younger kids who have never played these old games, well, to put it bluntly, don't even bother with this because you've been spoilt in your short lives with next gen stuff - you will not like this.

In 1990, Sega released the MegaDrive - and we were all in awe of it's 16-bit technology, the great carts you could get, and most of all, people fell in love with a blue hedgehog called Sonic... what nostalgia? Now in 2009, Sega have decided to collect the 100 games they thought really made the MegaDrive what it is.Here's a collection of 100 games, everything from Shinobi 3 to Sonic And Knuckles, and my favourite - Streets Of Rage. It's funny though how we can see the past in tinted rose glasses, as the gameplay of Streets Of Rage is primitive now, and the rave soundtrack of 1992 just seems so primitive, but you can tell they were motivated by music, and that's what really advanced game music as it is today.Other favourites include Sonic - though I am finding the music has been speeded up on this conversion, which is a bit strange. Funny how you forget those hidden monitor boxes all around the levels, and how you forget where the rings are!Classics like Golden Axe are here too, and Alex Kidd, who was a big hit on the MegaDrive's predecessor, the Master System. One thing I did notice about this series is there's a lack of racing games, but at least I get to waste hours playing Columns and Dr Robonik's Mean Bean Machine, which is still addictive 18 years on.The games are well presented and can be set out in alphabetical order, or in the order they came out on the system. You can also gain trophies by completing games. I am really hoping once I've completed SOR I will get extras or even hidden games. This isn't a bad compilation, it has all the Sonics you could want, but the sound quality is poor, even in Columns you can hear pops and digital artefacts. The claim that these games are in HD is a bit of a let down too, as they're boxed in 4:3 windows with a silly surround - and they don't obviously look any better. The sprites are just as I remember them on the MD though, so you can't complain.Shame EA didn't get in on this project, as Road Rash, Desert Storm and other classics would have made this a must have. I'm a bit disappointed Sega didn't add VR Racing or other MegaDrive classics, as the BD disk is pretty much empty and this could have been better on DVD rather than the expensive BD disk. Not bad, good fun, but could have been miles better content wise.

Grew up in the 90s? Miss the old days where games weren't all about the 'super awesome' graphics and every character wearing outfits with tons of zippers, big spikey hair and emo pasts? This is the game for you. This brings me back to my days as a kid playing the Mega Drive and just having fun with video games. You've got so many great titles here and so many to choose from its just a treat and at the price you're getting its a bargain especially considering what these games cost back in the day. You've also got some Sega Master System and Arcade titles in their as unlockables which just makes this a little gem.Lots of titles to choose from including classics such as Golden Axe, Alex Kidd, the Sonic series, the Phantasy Star series and more. At last we have got the original 60hz version of Sonic the Hedgehog and not the 50hz PAL version with the slower speed and music. And about time, the Streets of Rage series has been included in a complitation outside of Japan, its nice to be able to not have to connect up the Mega Drive every time I want to kick some butt with Blaze and Axel. And finally, we have all FOUR PHANTASY STAR GAMES on one system! With the original Phantasy Star being an unlocked game you can play through all four games and meet the final conclusion at the end of the fourth. That sold it for me.The only couple of flaws I can think of is that we don't get Sonic 3 & Knuckles, we get each game but not the lock on feature that was with the original so you can't play as Knuckles in Sonic 3 and can't play as Tails or Sonic and Tails in S&K. Also the game box states that the games are in HD when they really aren't, they are exactly the same as they were years ago along with the music which isn't anything wrong but its misleading.Absolutely recommended to any gamer who wants to relive their childhood memories, most of these games are better than the ones being released today. The demand for retro games and gameplay is still in demand today, just look at how Sega is developing Sonic the Hedgehog 4.

It always amazes me that no matter how old I get, I still love the mega drive as much as when that little blue hedgehog first dashed onto our screens. This collection of Sega classics will have you feeling like a kid again in the first 5 seconds of playing. Even though this is the third Sega compilation released for the playstation, the Sega Mega Drive Ultimate Collection is by far the best of them. Featuring over 40 classic games, this compilation features the entire Sonic the Hedgehog collection, as well as all three Streets of Rage and Golden Axe Games. Many reviews of this game claim that the games do not look any better in High Definition. I can tell you that they REALLY DO.The colours are much brighter and the graphics are sharper and crisper than ever before. Another great new feature is the ability to save and load the game at any time, rather than needing to restart the game over when you run out of lives.Another great thing about this game is the potential for future downloadable games and updates. However, this game does have a few things that stop me giving it a 5 star rating. First is the absence of the lock-on feature for Sonic & Knuckles. Sega chose not to include it due to time restraints and in my opinion, this was one of the best features about the sonic games. The other drawback (Only a personal preference) is that there are so many other games that are far better than some that made it onto this collection. Games like Desert Strike, World of Illusion, Mortal Kombat...But this game is still the best and most impressive looking collection of Mega Drive Games available and is essential for any fan of the Mega Drive looking to recapture that nostalgic feeling.

If you are over 18, you will probably remember the days of the Mega Drive, a games system which was the first to be 16 Bit. It had two crescent shaped controllers with 3 buttons and a D Pad. There were many fun games, and started the long career of Sonic, Ecco and other great game characters.Altogether there are 40 games, and Sega claim they have revamped them to be HD. So now you can run and jump around Sonic's Green Forest like never before. With 40 games, there's plenty of fun to be had here, especially with Golden Axe, Streets Of Rage and the Sonic series. The games featured on this disk are:Alex Kidd In The Enchanted CastleAlien StormAltered BeastBeyond OasisBonanza Bros.ColumnsComix ZoneDecap Attack Starring Chuck D.HeadDr. Robotnik's Mean Bean MachineDynamite HeaddyEcco The DolphinEcco II: The Tides Of TimeE-SwatFatal LabyrinthFlickyGain GroundGolden Axe IGolden Axe IIGolden Axe IIIKid ChameleonPhantasy Star IIPhantasy Star III: Generations Of DoomPhantasy Star IV: The End Of The MillenniumRistarShining In The DarknessShining ForceShining Force 2Shinobi III: Return Of The Ninja MasterSonic 3D BlastSonic And KnucklesSonic SpinballSonic The HedgehogSonic The Hedgehog 2Sonic The Hedgehog 3Streets Of RageStreets Of Rage 2Streets Of Rage 3Super Thunder BladeVectormanVectorman 2This is the most impressive collection ever produced, and I hope the attention to detail and the games are just as much fun 20 years on. I am especially looking forward to Streets Of Rage as I used to love playing it with friends.Worth getting even if you only like a handful of games here - try getting a Mega Drive and all these games for less than £30.

For those that grew up in the 1990's, most of us would have played. the Sega Mega Drive. And without a doubt had a whole lot of fun playing some of it's games.Skip to 2009, where we're playing the likes of GTA and COD on PS3 & Xbox 360. But it's time for some nostalgia as the.Sega Mega Drive Ultimate Collection is released. This collection of games is probably the best compilation out there. Containing some of the Mega Drive's classic games, such as Sonic The Hedgehog, Sonic 2, Streets Of Rage 1 & 2, Golden Axe, Columns, Flicky, Altered Beast & Alex Kidd plus many more.On top of the 40 games available, there are a further 9 to unlock via game progress. There are a number of interviews available to unlock too.Other great features include:1. Being able to give each of the games a rating depending on your personal preference.2. Being able to adjust the video size to suit your TV, and includes a smoothing option.3. Being able to save games throughout, unlike playing them on Mega Drive where you had to play through a game in one sitting.4.There is a museum section for each game that gives you some background info on each game as well as it's cover art.5. There are Trophies available for this collection. If I had to say anything negative about the set, it would be that I am, personally, disappointed that either World Cup Italia 90 and/or Super Hang On weren't included as I loved playing those 2 games. All in all, the Sega Mega Drive Ultimate Collection is a superb collection of classic games that features a wide range of titles and other features. As a former Mega Drive player myself, I can't recommend this collection highly enough. Definitely worth picking up.

It always winds me up when people review games without having actually played them, and there are plenty of negative reviewers for this game saying things such as 'I won't be buying this game as it looks awful', 'let the past stay the past', etc, etc, blah, blah. Now, let me be quite clear: if you weren't a 90s kid or if you never played on a Megadrive back in the day then don't even bother buying this game - you will hate it. OF COURSE the games are dated (most are about 20 years old for crying out loud!), and of course the graphics and gameplay are woeful by today's standards. Indeed, anyone who looks objectively at these games will invariably reach the conclusion that they are simply rubbish.Butthis game was never intended for the objective gamer; its beauty lies purely in the nostalgia factor. If, like me, you used to waste days at a time as a kid playing Sonic or Streets of Rage, then this collection will be a nice trip down memory lane, and is definitely worth spending a few quid on (though don't get me wrong - the novelty does wear off after a short while). If, however, you are not a Megadrive veteran, or if you are too young to remember the Megadrive and were raised on HD 1080p, then this game just isn't for you so don't even think about buying it. And to you people I say this: don't judge these games if you have never played them; don't leave negative and unneccessary reviews; quite simply don't spoil this for those (admittedly niche group) of us to whom this collection gives a chance to momentarily become a 10-year old kid again - we thought these games were the mutt's nuts at the time - please don't shatter the illusion!

This game will have very little to offer you if you didn't grow up playing Sega Megadrive classics. However, if you did grow up with a Sega Megadrive, then it can be a blast from the past. Even if you're unaware of some of the titles, if you appreciate some of the games that helped shape modern gaming as a whole then you might like Sega Megadrive Collection. Therefore I don't think it would be fair to give Sega Megadrive Collection a proper rating, as it's a large compilation of many games that were once rated incredibly high at their time. And whether you like the games or not will largely depend on the games you've been exposed to in your life.It would be pointless to give this game a rating as such.Sega Megadrive Collection is either just for you, or it isn't. If you get a kick out of retro games, or grew up with a Sega Megadrive then you might really like this compilation. But if you've only really been exposed to the current generation of gaming then you might find Sega Megadrive Collection boring and dismiss it as pure garbage. It wouldn't be true to compare the games included on this disc to the standards of today's games. They were classics in their own rights once upon a time, and you have to understand that. I've seen some people compare, and it is a bit silly. Personally, I absolutely love this gaming compilation. I think it's great and nostalgic, and gives you another taste of old classics like Golden Axe, Streets of Rage, Sonic the Hedgehog etc. And as I said before, your past will play a big part in whether you see this game as having much to offer.

Personally, I can really recommend this collection for old Sega fans like myself, especially if you are into PS3 trophies! The trophies which you can earn for this collection where the one thing that lured me into buying this game in the first place. I liked how the game, if you are into trophies at all, will urge you to actually play all of the titles on this collection and will let you do some fun things with high nostalgia value such as collecting 100 Rings in Sonic 3 or unlocking Roo in Streets of Rage 3. Also, I would like to add that it was quite easy to earn the platinum trophy for this game, especially compared to other PS3 games. The collection itself will also let you unlock several arcade and Master System titles and offers some very nice background info in the "museum" section of the collection. Its true that, in theory, technically they could have added every Sega Genesis game ever made in this collection and also I found a few titles missing that I personally would've liked to see on the list. However, I could imagine that there would've been a big problem regarding acquiring the licenses for all those games. Also, they sell old Roms for each system online for around 3 pounds I believe. So considering this, for a collection with over 30 titles, this is not bad at all.All in all, I didn't regret buying this collection in the slightest and I so I can recommend this to any old Sega Fan, trophy enthusiast or to those who never played the "original" games of great series like Sonic and Phantasy Star which are still going on today.

I dreamed about this for years.Streets Of Rage, my childhood game, available on the PS3, not just for Wii.When this collection was released, I already knew I would buy it when I finally saw the mentioned game on the list.Even better, some more gems like Sonic 1, Golden Axe 3 and Comix Zone made the cut. What I can't understand about it though, is why Sega decided to leave out some very entertaining games andfilled the disc with many uninteresting titles.I can only hope they will release a second volume, because too many GOOD Sega Megadrive games are still waiting for a upscaled release.I must admit that this review is subjective. I would have bought this for Streets of Rage alone, and I'm probably not the only one. Was Sega counting on this? Probably so, I just hope they WILL release another collection. Some really good games were:AladdinDemolition ManDESERT STRIKEDragon - The Bruce Lee StoryThe Batman gamesAll WWF (WWE) gamesJurassic ParkRed ZoneRevenge Of ShinobiSpider-ManTeenage Mutant Ninja TurtlesThe Death And Return Of SupermanThe Incredible HulkTHE PUNISHERUrban Strikeand that's just to name a few of them. So, if you're a fan of Sonic The Hedgehog and the first and best Streets of Rage installment, definitely buy this.Otherwise skip it, since most of the other games featured on the disc are pretty lame.

For those older gamers that will remember these games the first time around, this is the most complete treasure trove of Sega's past glories to ever hit disc; a statement which in itself is rather impressive considering that these collections have been periodically released and updated since the latter days of the Mega Drive itself. For younger gamers however, this collection has very little to offer. Modern games have far more to offer in terms of depth and enjoyment, and it has to be said that whilst games like 'Sonic the Hedgehog' remain timeless, others like 'Streets of Rage' and 'Golden Axe' - with their almost identical sequels - might emote a wonderful sense of nostalgia in anybody aged 25+,for everybody else this is just a lot of tired retro nonsense that pales into comparison with modern offerings like 'Yakuza' and 'The Elder Scrolls'.In short, if you've already played the games collected here once before you might just get a kick out of this. If not, the only thing you're missing out on is a lesson in ancient history.

The 360 and PS3 both have the same game out, what i don't understand is why does the PS3 version have such a bad review?Either way, with Phantasy Star 1-4 (1 being a locked game) it should automatically get a 4 star at least. If Sega made a RPG only compilation this would get 5 star. It all boils down to what you like really.(not really a fan of the other games apart from SOR and Sonic ^^) Thats the reason for the 4 star and that its missing Road Rash, but they did pretty well anyway.Any people big on RPG's[like me] will tell you that the Phantasy star and SF are timeless classics in their own right. That said, it would be nice to see some non Megadrive games from the Sega CD era as PS1 isn't a mega drive game,ie: Shining in the Holy Ark and Shining Force 3.For nostalgias sake,I highly recommend this game for either console, also for those who didn't get a chance to play these games in their day.Oh, did any one else notice that Phantasy Star 4 is alot easier then it originally was? Probably just some setting they put in.

A brilliant selection of classic Genesis games, there are only two nitpicks I have with it. The first is that Sonic 3 and Sonic & Knuckles are separate games here; the lock-on functionality of Sonic & Knuckles is unavailable. If you want to play Sonic 3 & Knuckles, you can't do that on a PS3 unfortunately, unless you have a backwards compatible PS3 that can play the PS2's Sonic Mega Collection Plus. The second nitpick is that to unlock the first Phantasy Star game, you need 2 controllers to beat the first boss in Sonic 2 with 2 players.Apart from these nitpicks, it is a very great game; a lot of the Genesis's best games are here such as Columns, Comix Zone, Ristar and the Sonic games, and it is very affordable. There are no issues with the emulation that I have seen either, and the games are presented as the 60hz versions, so you don't have to put up with Sonic 1's slow music and slower frame rates.
