I do most of my bike riding on narrow rural roads bordered by hedges. These hedges are regularly trimmed by the farmers using mechanical flails and the road becomes covered with short thorny trimmings, many from hawthorn, rose and blackthorn. I already had Slime tubes but even with these I was still getting punctures because the thorns were sticking in the cover causing multiple small holes in the tubes. One day I had 7 new holes after only 30minutes riding and examining the tube there were already many more which had been sealed by the Slime fluid. But even this couldn't cope with such an onslaught for ever and pushing a bike 5 miles home takes a lot longer than riding it.So why not try a cover which repelled the thorns, stopping them penetrating the tube in the first place? These were easy to fit, still with Slime tubes inside (belt and braces) and they aren't much heavier than a similar thick tread tyre. September and October are the worst time and I have ridden through several long patches of thorns in the last few weeks. The tyre seems to reject the thorns on the first spin round and I can see no damage on the inner tubes. So so far very successful; I will be really pleased if I don't get a puncture at all after 6 months.

The only bike I've got is a 26" hardtail, so I have to swap tires every so often - you know, mean ones for off-road, these (semi?) slicks for commutes and general road riding, and there's always a chance to compare.Well. I'm doing 100 miles a week on average, some times more, rarely less. I couldn't believe the difference these make - 15% increase in speed, absolute silence when I'm riding, not a single puncture where Maxxis Ignitor, supposedly a nukeproof affair, were getting one after another, and even on a 5-mile stretch of the Pennine Bridleway they handled dry moorland and rocky downhill ride unbelievably well. So, despite the smooth profile they're not that bad for an all-rounder.Now,you gotta be careful with the disc brakes, though. Just today, an old rag pulled out of the junction on me, I hit the brakes and went into a skid and flying sideways. OK, that's her driving and my breaking rather than the tires, but in comparison to the nobbier ones they skid so easily, you'd better forget about the rear brake.Other than that, a great tire.

I recently returned to cycling to get a bit fitter really. I used to build bikes and sort of know my way around components albeit a little out of touch. They tyres that came with the new bike were fairly standard MTB tyres. Too knobbly for a smooth ride on the road but fine for rougher ground. Knowing the type of cycling I would be doing I needed to change the tyres. Having read many of the reviews here and the generally positive ratings this tyre has received, I thought they were worth a go. Initially, when installing them, I thought they were a shade too big for the wheel although i had ordered the correct size. However, when inflated, they were as tight as a drum.I have found them to have good grip and they run smoothly and relatively quietly. They provide a more comfortable and faster exeperience than the MTB tyres as well. The rubber was of a better quality than the tyres that came with the bike.I will probably purchase a pair for my wife's bicycle as they seem well worth the money.

Ride is now quieter, faster and easier. Riding on 50psi tyre pressure.I steppped down from 1.95s semi-smooth, (knobbles on the tyre edges) to these 1.75s. These tyres look good and suit the bike too.Was thinking about buying a good quality hybrid as present MTB (Schwinn Mesa GS) beginning to get uncomfortable,(age thing) so with a steering stem extension (3") and these tyres I have transformed my ride into something much better, much more comfortable and perhaps also I can do more miles per ride now.So for about £26.00 (tyres and stem extension) I can carry on with my MTB which I do like a lot and don't really want to part with.Puncture protection a bonus as at the moment there is hedge cutting going on in many of the country lanes I ride in.Great price, great buy, super fast delivery in huge amount of cardboard.

I replaced the original knobbly tyres that came as standard on my Raleigh mountain bike with these Schwalbe Road Cruisers. I found that I was riding mostly on roads and cycle paths and wanted to see if my performance improved. The tyres arrived quickly and well packaged and I eagerly fitted them using my existing inner tubes. What a difference! I have cut 10 minutes off my usual time for a 10 mile outing, and my average speed has increased by at least 2 mph. Not only that but climbing hills and cycling in general just feels easier and takes less effort. In summary; I couldn't be happier with these tyres and am so glad I decided to give them a try.If you are looking for a quick and cheap way toimprove then you won't regret buying Schwalbe Road Cruisers.

After looking for a while i decided on these tyres because they looked good and were a reasonable price too. They arrived within 3 days and i couldn`t wait to get em on. They are very easy to put on and it took me about 15 minutes to replace both tyres.Despite the downpour going on outside i took the bike out for a test run.....what a difference! My bike was an absolute joy to ride. I gained so much more speed than i had before and without feeling like i was on a treadmill! The grip is fantastic and i slammed on in the wet a number of times with no skid. There is no annoying noise from them unlike my chunkies i had before. These are a perfect balance of grip, speed and less energy expended gettingfrom A to B.....and no punctures yet.A good investment :-))

Good tyres as others have said, so much better on-road compared with knobbly mountain bike tyres. The 5 stars are for Schwalbe's tyres and the good price. But the packaging! Two tyres in huge, inappropriate boxes 1130x250x250 cm, one for EACH bicycle tyre. The tyres had been deformed to fit each box and the tyre wire bead was bent which had to be gently unbent on unpacking. They could have fitted BOTH tyres in a single box 670x670x110 (one-seventh of the size of the 2 boxes) without bending them or damaging them. Fortunately these are tyres to take tubes so the bead is not critical - as it would be if they had been tubeless.....

I bought these tyres about 3 months ago to replace my off-road tyres as I use the bike on the road more often than not. Easy to fit, took about 10 mins, though I did put them on the wrong way round first time as it was nort clear for me there was a particular direction they should go. Pumped up they are allot faster and less effort than my old set, grip not quite as good when you hit the mud, though I havnt had any accidents. Also in this time winter months i have had no punctures, I could justy be lucky, but think it is due to the tougher tyres. I reccomend these to antone who cares to ask

Wasted more time than I care to admit trying to figure out iCandy's weird tyre sizing. I didn't want to buy some odd off-brand tyre as they don't last long and the cost isn't much different. These fit lovely, and just like Schwalbes come up bigger than the stated size. I just need to get some of that silver spray and a flamethrower and some of that cooking decoration silver spray and I can enact a scene out of Mad Max with these tyres fitted to the buggy.Treat yourself to these instead of the crappy off brand rubbish out there! Oh glorious day!

Bought these as winter tyres as I was running on Schwalbe Slick tyres in the summer. I have used these tyres for over a month and they offer a more comfortable ride and I am confident to travel despite the heavy rain and inevitable debris on the winter roads and cycle tracks. Ideal for Hybrid bikes. Will swap back to slicks in the summer months as a personal choice but for many people these tyres could be a one stop option. Delivery and servic e from the retailer was good.

I have to say these tyres are amazing. I rely on the fact I need to travel upwards of 8 times a day to different client visits as a Personal Trainer by bike and kept getting punctures at least 3 times a month on the debris laden London roads. Since buying these tyres more than 6 months ago, I've had none. Yes Zero! I will probably get one now but would still have to say I am way ahead. Super reliable and well worth the slightly extra expense.

Bought these tyres to convert my MTB into a crossover bike as I do most of my cycling on the road. They are perfect for the job. Very quiet on the road and grip seems good. A little tricky to fit compared to standard MTB tyres, but once on are fine. The description says non directional but they do actually have a correct rotation so beware before fitting. Overall I am very happy with these and will buy again when they wear out.

I have deliberately left it a few months before reviewing the tyre because I wanted to see how reliable it was and I can honestly say that it is first class. I cycle between 80 and 100 miles a week and have not had a single puncture in the 5 months which is amazing considering how awful the roads are in the Bognor Regis area. The next rplacement tyres I purchase will definitely be this make and delivery was very prompt.

I do cycle around 80 miles a week in a very rough terrain ( river side) in Oxford. I found this in Amazon and bought it after read 3 of the 5 star reviews. This is truly a wonderful tyre as other reviewers noted and no hesitation of recommending to anyone. I use Rayleigh puncture resistant inner tube with these and no hassle of punctures any more. thanks for fast and prompt delivery from Amazon as always.

I feel much more confident with these tyres on especially now we are into winter with ice and grit on the roads. They give a much smoother ride and practically no road noise. I find 40 psi best for the lanes here in Lincolnshire as this pressure is more flexible for bad surfaces. These tyres are a great investment at just £10 each and would recommend them to all cyclists who want care free cycling !
