I bought these tires in my LBS for general use on a cyclocross bike. I commute, run errands, do 25-40 km evening spins and longer half-day trips. I don't race, and I don't do serious off-road. I wanted something that works well on hard-packed dirt and forest trails, but also runs fine on paved roads and the occasional off-road path. (My bike has clearance for 700x40c tires, so size is not an issue.)At the time of writing I have 300+ km behind me on the CX Pros. I am very impressed with these tires! Very very impressed, considering the price. The CX Pros feel light-weight, firm and surprisingly grippy on all surfaces, the only exception being sandy asphalt.I've had a pair of Bontrager H5 and a pair of Specialized Trigger Pros (700x33c) on the same bike, and the CX Pros outperform them.On the road, the tires roll quickly and effortlessly, despite the rough tread. It turns out that the central knobs form a ridge that is just about continuous enough to give a smooth ride. There's a bit of vibration at low speeds that disappears above 20 km/h. Sandy corners feel dangerous however, and the bike also seems to "hit a speed wall" around 45 km/h that wasn't there before. The tires really come into their own on dirt roads and medium/hard-packed sand and gravel. The knobs give a good grip and the behavior feels predictable. Patches of snow and ice are not so fun, but the tires climb over rather than crush the ice. I assume the knobs give more lift than one would think. The same goes for loose gravel and sand. The CX Pro beats the Specialized Trigger both on and off the road. The Trigger always felt best on hard-pack, slow on asphalt and unreliably slippery on forest trails, and I had to fiddle a lot with the tire pressure to get the tyres to perform. The CX Pro works just fine everywhere at 50-60 psi. Despite being 15% heavier, the tires feel much more responsive to pedaling than the Triggers.Best of all, the CX Pros feel fun and inspiring! I'm really looking forward to my next bike run. :-)

This has been my go-to winter commuter for New England City Living. I also have used the kevlar bead version, and the only performance difference is the weight -- they are equally good for commuting. They do well in typical roadway slush and muddy places along the edges of bike paths, and the 30s really measure closer to 28 mm... so they fit on my touring-style bike with fenders. They are not good in extreme winter road conditions, but that is above and beyond the expectation for any non-studded tire.Tires probably have two winters worth of use in them. However, I remove these from April - November, so as a year-round tire, they might only last a year, depending on milage.I suspect they'd be good enough for a recreational CX rider, but not for someone who takes their CX season equipment/results absurdly seriously.I would probably not go with this wire version again, as they are a little harder to get on the rims than the Kevlar bead version of the tire, but I've had no problems with using this tire.

I put these on my single speed last week, for some racing this past weekend and loved them! I had some traction issues in the first race, but I think I had them at too low of an air pressure (30ish). I went closer to 40 and didn't have any traction problems after that. It was a very technical, but dry course so I can't comment on their mud clearing ability.Update 11/28/2011Just did three races at Jingle Cross over the weekend and things got really muddy on Saturday and Sunday. As long as I kept my butt in the saddle these kept traction pretty good. Saturday it had been raining since early morning and during the race. The mud, which was really wet, cleared pretty well then. Sunday the course was still muddy, but it was much stickier. The tires were slower at clearing the mud out, but I'm not sure what tire could've done better with all the mud, grass, and gravel getting sucked in.

CX tires in sizes narrower than 700x30 are few and far between. These fit, albeit snugly into my carbon road forks essentially turning my road set up into a functional light CX toy. I use this bike for commuting and fitness in Kuwait. They handle the hot road 10-20 miles a day well, with reasonable wear and the dirt and gravel reasonably well for such a narrow foot print.Caution, clearance in road forks is extremely tight and they may not work in all forks. I had to trim the molding nibs to get them to work. take exhaustive measurements befor attempting. Excessive runnout on the wheel will cause rubbing.

Love these tires. I have used them for the past 10 summers and winters here in Winnipeg where it gets to be +30 in summer and -30 in the winter. They are great, light, and I have suffered only one puncture in all these years. Even on ice and snow they perform well, getting me out of many snow drifts like a bulldog. Highly recommended.

Pros: weight, traction on the back and grip on the front, good sliding. Easy to assemble. Good quality / price ratio. Limits: the section, being narrow, does not allow high speeds on extra asphalt descents or facing particularly uneven surfaces. Attention to the gel effect from new on the asphalt, because the blocks are pronounced.

I needed snow tires for my commuter/grocery bike, and these were just what I was looking for: economical knobblies narrow enough to fit.I haven't tested them in snow yet, but they're grippy on grass, gravel, and singletrack. On asphalt, they're smoother and quicker than I would've expected.

Use these on my wheelchair. 25” inch wheelchair wheels are iso (559) or 26” bicycle tires. The narrow tread is a perfect balance between traction and rolling resistance. In my opinion anything wider is just going to shred arm and shoulder muscles.

I converted my old Mountain Bike into my Cyclocross Bike. These tires are perfect for cyclocross or just messing around in the woods. Very fast but still knobby enough to keep you from sliding out. I'd recommend getting new tubes to go with them.

These tires are great for winter commuting! The only issue I've had is slushy snow that's more than two inches thick. Other than that even the icy to dry change in minneapolis roads is no issue.Amazing price as well making them a great purchase!

I was using previous some WTB 700x32C tires and decided to try these 700x30C and I am very happy! I was afraid of some adherence lost, but not really! Tires are amazing, very fast both in road and gravel, mud !! Highly recommendable

Very good purchase, both by bikeinn (super-fast) and by the merchandise. I bought these wheels because I have them in 26 "and they go very well, in 28" they are more finite but they go very well, in grip and durability. Recommended.

If your kid has 26" mtn cx wheels, this may be what you need. Tire IS quite narrow, measures at 31.5 mm at 30 psi, which is less than expected. Tread is slightly deeper than most of these grifo patterns, good for kids and sidehills.

Bought these to get a lil traction in winter here in the midwest. Outstanding tires and despite regular year round use for over a year now, the knobs have barely worn down at all. Thinking of buy more for the future.
