I've had these tyres for a few weeks now, I didnt want to write a review until I had properly tested them out. Most of my cycling is did on flat gravel or concrete, I dont do rough terrian or large hills very often and so it was very difficult for me to obtain a good insight into the the difference in the performance from my last set of tyres which came with my bike when I bought it.Having did some cycling on rough terrain and in an area with a lot of hills I can finally say something about these tyres.I think these tyres are a hybrid type and are not designed for rough terrain exculsively however I have experienced a lot more confidence cycling over rough terrain, there are some areas where I live where I always get very worried about having an accident on my bike to the point where my arms are tensed up and im braking, however with these tyres I seem to glide over these areas of rough ground as if I was on normal concrete, I still need to be careful turning corners with loose gravel stones but going straight or turning slightly over them gives me no worries at all about getting knocked off course and ending up crashing, it just feels great I love it.The other thing I noticed different was going uphill on gravel was so much easier, with my last set of tyres gravel felt like a lot of work but I just power up these hills with no effort now.The tyres also say they have low rolling resisitance, this isnt something ive not really noticed if there was a difference until today, I however can tell you there is a big difference and you will roll easier downhill, I know because I went down a very long downhill section and although I didnt feel I was going fast, I must have been to keep going, I think the thing is that these tyres are so comfortable because they have a thicker cushion of air between the road and the wheel because they are much thinner than my other ones, so you effectively have a lot more suspension through the tyres making the ride smoother and so you dont get nervous like I do on my other tyres.Well thats about it, I dont know if they are good for serious trail mountain biking but for general use these are amazing, they are so good they make me want to cry lol, i feel like my bike has so much more quality nowThe only problem I have encountered with them was fitting them to the wheel but if you lay the wheel flat then its a lot easier to get tyre on, also make sure the arrow indicator is pointing in the direction of travel.

I do a lot of cycling. Mostly cross country, forest and tow path type stuff, but also the inevitable road sections in between. I had been using Schwalbe Land Cruisers through the summer which work excellently and I cannot recommend them enough, but as the weather got worse I needed something a bit more chunky. I bought these as a half-way step between the Land Cruisers and some Schwalbe Rocket Rons which are my full off-road tyre. These Black Jacks come in 1.9" and 2.1" varieties. I was surprised how thin the 1.9s actually looked - they don't actually look much different than the 1.75 land cruisers I was running before. Even on quite a thin frame,I would think you'd be fine with the 2.1s....although they'll be slightly heavier of course. These roll nicely on tarmac with only a slight hum and don't feel much more difficult than the land cruisers.I've now done 100 or so miles on them on mixed off-road including a day at Swinley Forest and was thoroughly impressed, with no noticeable slips the whole day. With a fairly wet, sandy mix, they were clearing well too. No punctures either. For a tenner each I'd say these are a great value all round off-road tyre. They fit well without tools, look good and most importantly seem to grip well in the conditions I ride. Well recommended.

I've been a massive fan of Schwalbe Land Cruisers for a couple of years now and run them on both of my bikes for summer or long distances use.The Land Cruisers are a great tyre due to their puncture protective Kevlar strip. I do a lot of miles off road and these tyres have never punctured whereas regular MTB tyres seemed to puncture on every big ride. The only trouble with the Land Cruisers was their performance in wet muddy or sand; they were never quite up to the job because the tread was more hybrid than full on knobbly. That's where the Black Jacks come in. They have the grip that the Land Cruisers are lacking and utilises the same puncture protective technology. They are priced really well in comparison with a lot of tyres on the market. These are definitely worth a punt if you want Winter grip and no hassle from punctures.

I have probably done 200 km on these with no punctures. Mainly forestry road crushed stone but did about 30km of really demanding poorer grade boulder/sharp stone/sand/gravel above Loch Rannoch without a hitch during this extremely dry summer. Surprising little wear is apparent and I think the kevlar strip probably does the business unless I have been very lucky. My pair were medium tread and you experience less traction on loose surfaces but the rolling resistance (and roar) drops like a stone when riding on tarmac. So these would be especially good for road and light track use. Cannot fault them but may decide to go for a "knobblier" version for Scotland's monsoon season - generally Octoberto October in the past!

i bought this product as im currently doing my bike up to look more presentable and a better looking thing to ride .... the tyres themselves are great so far and im very satisfied with them as i purchased 2 ..... the deliver was very fast i chose the free 3 - 5 days delivery and it arrived next morning after dispatch the only negative i can say about this and the seller is that it was packaged crazily and had far far far too much brown and clear tape on it :( took me ages to even open but overall the seller is great, the product is great and the service i would say is about average but could be a bit better packaged...... thanks a lot for the great product tho :)

I cycle 90% of the time on the road for commuting, but on the odd occasion I decide to cut through some woodlands I want a tyre that can cut through the mud. After spending £40 (each) on Armadillo tyres (which were pretty good), I decided to try a budget tyre. This is every bit as good - very rarely puncture, fairly low resistance but with grip for the corners. I think they weigh a little more tha average, but that's not an issue to me. I'm sure there are better tyres available, just not for this price.

My son has to cycle to and from work every day. His work is over 40 mins away via the main roads but only 20 mins away if he cuts through the industrial estate and uses the canal tow path. The problem is going over this rough ground is not very good for his tyres and he has to replace them every 6 months or so along with the inner tubes. This tyre is very robust. It has a Kevlar guard and a great tread pattern. Lets hope this lasts him for a few months.

Bought for my son's mountain bike and selected due to the puncture protection. Seem like good quality and good grip. Far superior to the cheap generic tyres that came with the bike. Too early to tell how long they last and how good the puncture protection is. The sidewalls are really quite thin which makes fitting really easy but wouldn't want to run them low on pressure as a result.

I bought the tire in size 26 x 2.1 and am thrilled. On asphalt astonishingly quiet and steady, you can not slip away in the terrain. Clearly better than a "city & country" tire from another manufacturer. The rubber mixture seems very soft, with the running performance you have to see. But at this price is probably no question. Delivery as always fast and correct.

Schwalbe seem to be the only big brand tyre manufacturer that provides serious tyres for youngsters. They've been great tyres for my son's 16 inch bike so far. They seem to grip well in most conditions for him and even weigh a bit less than the B'twin tyres they replaced. No complaints whatsoever, shame other tyre manufacturers don't bother with smaller sizes!

Fantastic, fitted to Islabike Beinn 24", tried the 24 x 2.1 first, but doesn't fit the rear, so have to have 2.1 on the front, and 1.5 on the rear. Looks awesome and give my daughter superb grip on the trails for the first time! Also Bike Champions (supplier) are super quick and send you text updates for delivery etc. Brilliant!

Replaced both tyres with these, after a frustrated bicycle thief couldn't break our lock, and slashed the old tyres out of spite. SCUM.These tyres are knobbly on the edges for grip on road and track, and less knobbly in the center, so that they don't slow you down on the straight. I recommend these for quality and price.

A tire for town and country. Due to the closely spaced studs on the middle / tread of the tire, it runs nice and quiet on asphalt and without "jerking". Still more than enough grip on forest paths and off-road, at least for what we ride with it. Fine! Price / offer: Very good!

Bought these to replace stock Kenda's on my sons Felt.He now has the confidence to attack downhill corners whereas before he was slipping on the loose over hard/hardpack.The outer tread digs in where necessary and they roll well in a straight line.Great tyre for the price.

This is the second set of these I've had. I love them. The carcass just supple enough, the tread blocks are just soft enough & I like to run at a quite high psi (@50psi - they go up to 55psi) coz I'm a big lad. This combo give me a stable tyre with loads of grip. Appulsorse.
