This was the largest width tire that would fit on a Bike Friday folding bicycle. Bought it for an extended bike tour on gravel/dirt rail trails. Was not at all disappointed. Prior to trip, took bike out with new tires and found that they had less rolling resistance than the 'stock' Kenda brand tires. On the trip, we rolled over lots of sharp objects, sticks, thorns and rocks and did not have any flats. The Schwalbe brand held up to its reputation of being a tough, excellent quality tire with really good riding characteristics. If/when I ever wear these tires out, I'll be buying another set.

Great tires! I have a Tern folding bike I love. The original tires were good but a little worn. Purchase the Big Apples which will provide a little wider footprint for riding on the beach at low tide. They have performed very well. The only downside was I had to remove the brake pads to get wheel back in the frame. I don't think you can go wrong with these tires.

Great tyres! A lot fatter than standard tyres and so gives a noticeably softer ride.I think grip in the wet over drain covers could be better though! Shame it doesnt have 5mm protection, but 3mm is just fine

Replaced my knobby tires with these on my mountain bike since I was riding mostly on the street. So much easier to pedal now. I will definitely buy them again whenever I wear them out.

Placed on the front wheel of my bike, as I know from past experience that these tyres will grip even in the worst wintry condition, and punctures are rare.

Improved ride of my Catrike Trail, with a pressure of 40 PSI. Tire is slower but smoother than the Primo Comets I was riding on, at 80 PSI, before.

I've been using the Big Apple Plus on the rear of my bike for 7 months. I haven't had a puncture in that time so great!

My rating is based on expectation of longevity. They are bigger in diameter then my previous Schwalbe Apple.
