This is an excellent glass for good champagne. Close to ideal.For me the ideal champagne glass:1. is big enough to hold 125 ml of champagne (1/6th bottle) with at least the same empty volume above to allow the bouquet to develop2. has empty space above the wine that tapers to capture the bouquet but with an opening large enough to appreciate it on the nose3. creates a reasonably large wine surface area when filled with 125 ml to allow the bouquet to develop well without being so great that the effervescence dissipates too quicklyThis glass achieves point 1 and is a good compromise for points 2 and 3. A large flute (250 ml or greater capacity) may be as good or better.
