not really needed , but i find they help "finish" the track, make it look more complete & eye catching. Also i have found that adding inner & outer kerbs/barriers to R1 & R2 curves~corners and only Outer kerbs/barriers to R3 curves~corners helps novice racers moderate their speed at the sharper bends. if you are able to buy this item at a heavily discounted price then its an inexpensive addition thats eye catching & also a good visual warning to drivers to SLOW DOWN NOW.P.S . warning. important note, All of this type of kerb & barrier have problems remaining attatched to your track on carpeted floors .

At first glance not that useful, cars don't drift inwards, but this allows for 'S' bends and switchbacks to be taken faster as the cars swing from side to side. Not something you need many off, but worth having a pack. Also useful when there isn't space for a lead in/out barrier to either push that round a corner or just provide enough space not to need it
