Very easy to use The sheath moves smoothly one way or the other to bring the Android micro-usb or Laptop USB 3.0 connection out. I attach it to my Samsung phone and a wee icon pops up at the top of the screen. Tap on the icon and up pops 3 folders and a BOOTEX.LOG. I hasve not one clue what these are, but hey-ho . . .The folders are Android, LOST.DIR and System Volume Information. A tap on the latter brings up IndexerVolumeGuid and WPSettings.dat. Have't a scooby what these are for, so am ignoring them.A tap on LOST.DIR brings up a screen with "No files". Pass. The android folder has a data folder and one called media.Have no idea what all the stuff in the data folder is for. The media one is empty. So,what this junk is for I don't know, but may have something to do with how it works. Anyway . . .I downloaded the SanDisk Memory Zone app from the Play Store, plugged in the flash drive and hey presto! Very esy to transfer from the phone to the drive, and from the drive to my laptop - or vice versa. I dragged and dropped content before downloading the app, and this was nice and straightforward to, so you do not need to use the additional app if you don't want to.how often this wee device will be used is up for debate. With all the on-line, cloud and other storage facilities these days, is there actually a need for this? I can also transfer via Bluetooth, so am not sure where this sits in the options available to people, these days. The actual memory you have to play with in this 64GB option is actually around 58GB. Something to do with all the guff I mentioned at the beginning, I assume. It looks good. It performs well. At this size it will probably be easy to lose, but it comes with a handy wee notch to attach it to a key-ring.I'm technical up to a point (as you can no doubt tell(!)), but it does what it promises. I'm just not too sure when I'm going to use it again. 5 stars overall.

Bought the 64GB version. Great capacity and great speed - technically, this item is a dream to own - but I found myself thinking of this as somewhere between a three and four star item for reasons I thought would never matter. The first is the 'sliding frame' used to expose the USB port either side. I found that it was all to easy for it to slide open in my pocket exposing the microUSB socket. Having had other items with such microUSB sockets break in the past, this makes me nervous.Sticking with case design, the sockets are very exposed. Loose grime and dirt seem attracted to not just the sockets themselves, but to the voids in the sliding mechanism (e.g. either side of the USB sockets). This is not a USB drive that can live in the bottom of a bag or satchel.Next are my old man problems with the drive. I took it out-and-about to get photos printed in a hurry. I lost it on-and-about my person at least five times before deciding to keep it in the zipped change pocket of my wallet. That solved transport - and I was impressed how easily it fit there - but when I took it out to attach to the photo kiosk it felt like it was one ill-timed 'ping' away from flying across the chemists and lodging itself under a shelf of embarrassing items! For someone with smaller fingers I would imagine it would be less of a problem, but it felt very small and very slippery in hand.Added to this small size is a slight feeling that it is not exactly the most robust drive out there - there is an uncomfortable level of resistance plugging it in to a USB 2 slot.So I can't fault the thumb drive for speed, or the utility of the two sized USB interfaces. Capacity is great. And it's so tiny, if you did need to conceal a large amount of data somewhere it would be difficult to find, this would do the job perfectly. It's just a little smaller than I'm comfortable with. Overall, however, great drive.

This SanDisk Ultra Dual USB Drive is a useful memory stick featuring USB OTG (On-The-Go) technology. So as well as being able to be used as a normal memory stick you can also use it to transfer files between various types of Android mobile devices and a computer. The USB 3 end can be used with the USB ports on Windows PCs or Macs, and is backwards compatible with USB 2 (slower data transfer however), whilst the micro USB end will work with OTG-enabled Android devices – most modern Android devices are - but check older ones first to be sure they are compatible with the OTG technology. At around twenty-five pounds for the 64 GB version this product is reasonable enough value for what it does –there are five storage sizes listed on the same Amazon product page ranging from 16 GB right up to 256 GB, with the bigger ones being proportionately better value. The build quality is fair enough, although the slider mechanism for retracting the plugs into the body is a bit of a weak point – however, this does allow the device to be more compact, but it needs care to prevent the plugs accidentally retracting on insertion. The value of the drive depends on the amount of memory you buy and this could be be a good way to free up some memory on your phone if you are away from home and need to save some photos, videos or other data to transfer later. I haven't used it myself but the SanDisk Memory Zone app is available on Google Play so might be worth investigating if you intend to use the drive regularly. This SanDisk dual drive is useful but I have reservations about it's design – maybe a storage device with locked USB plug ends might be a better option. The USB 3 will work with all versions of Windows from Vista to 10 and Mac OSX v10.6 and above – you can check the compatibility of your OTG device on the “dualdrive” section of the Sandisk website.

Can't really go wrong with Sandisk flash drives, been using them for years with no problems. This is a neat little unit, intriguingly useful in it's dual purpose, having both a conventional USB 3.0 connector and micro USB connector at the other end ideal for Android devices like phones and tablets. This does make for ease of data transfer as well as pumping up general storage on devices. It's a very solid little drive, and the connectors are in a plastic sleeve and slide out either end, depending on what device you are plugging it into. The connections are firm and the data transfer rates very good. There's a handy side fastening mould to attach the drive to a keyring/chain or whatever so it's not so easy to lose,a simple addition too often missing from some flash drives these days. Once in use, the storage is less than the 64Gb advertised [as with all flash drives of course], and once in use I get just shy of 58Gb of storage.Okay, data transfer my these days be done easily through the cloud etc but I've found a transfer device like this does very much have it's place, There are times- and types of data- it's ideally suited for use. Impressed and very pleased with its quality and utility.

This is a very compact USB Flash drive. It uses USB 3.0 for fast transfer speeds, and has both a standard USB 3.0 plug (backward compatible with USB 2.0) at one end and a micro-USB plug (as used on Android smartphones) at the other. The plugs are slightly protected by a rigid plastic frame with a sliding mechanism - you hold the frame and slide the band with the SanDisk logo towards the relevant end to expose the desired connector. Note that the plugs are not protected at the sides, so there is the possibility for dust or grit to get onto the plugs; probably more a cosmetic issue, but something to be aware of.There is a small loop on the frame to allow you to attach a keyring or similar. It's a nice compact device; the only problem is that the lock which holds the plugs in position when one is pushed out is weaker than the insertion force on a USB socket, so if you push a plug out and then try to push it into a socket, the plug tends to slide straight back into the drive; you need to hold the band to avoid this. A bit irritating, but not a huge problem. But otherwise, the usual quality you expect from SanDisk, and nicely small and light.

Useful dual USB storage for mobile phones and other android devices. The high capacity is more than sufficient for moving all photos off a mobile if you start to run low on space and transfer these to a PC or other device. There are of course other options - such as plugging your phone directly into the PC via a USB cable or using various cloud storage options, but this is handy and portable and won't eat up your data allowance. The USB connectors slide out of the protective case by moving the collar one way or the other - can be a bit fiddly but once you get used to it it works ok. The USB plugs aren't protected by any sort of dust cover so can get bits of fluff or dust in, so just check before plugging in.It is quite small so watch you don't lose it - can be attached to a key ring or similar if needed.I have yet to install the Sandisk Memory Zone app on my phone and tablet, but understand this will make it a lot easier to manage transferring files onto the external USB drive. A very handy little gadget.

I already own a couple of the older design in these Dual USB drives from SanDisk and I find them very useable. They’re especially great for when I’m away from home as I can easily swap files between devices thanks to it having both standard and micro USB connectors. My 64GB model is also at USB 3.0 standard which means that it offers faster read and write access, and it now comes with this great-looking case fitted. Unfortunately it looks better than it works in my experience as it can be a little fiddly to insert unless you have finger space around the drive. For example it fits easily on the side of my laptop when there aren’t other connectors fitted, but when I want to use it in a hub next to other devices or connectors I find it tricky because you have to push the dark plastic of the actual body and not the clear plastic of the frame - the thin frame simply flexes too much and won’t always push home the connector. Aside from that niggle I’m very pleased with my memory drive and I do recommend it.

Having had a previous version of the same capacity a couple of years previous I know how handy these are. This particular version is smaller still. Some might say even handier but on the flip side it's also even easier to lose or get lodged somewhere tricky. It's very handy for the mobile phone off load but I prefer to just use it as a handy USB storage device. The protective covers that slide back and forth are really handy to protect the device. Overall I really like the reduction in size and the fast access this drive offers. Always loved SanDisk products and always will. To me they are the market leaders as I have never had any get corrupt data or broken.

I love these dual USB memory devices. Even more when I'm able to get them on here at such a discounted price. This is the fourth of its kind purchased, and what might never cease to amaze me is methods and workable ways I can transfer video data from my smart phone onto the memory of the USB memory, plug in, and watch immediately on my t.v.The only set back I can dare even mention is that it's a fiddly little gadget which takes a little getting used to when changing from little usb to standard sized. And a little so too when slotting the standard sized connection into my blu ray player.Apart from this, its genius is impeccable.Thank you.

In a very real sense this is something of a 'so what' product. It was acquired because my wife uses two tablets, one for work and one for leisure and playing games and the Bluetooth system for file transfer isn't without bugs and problems. So it's a perfectly adequate means of transferring data between tablets, phones that have this type of connector (More modern phones have USB 'C' connector) and a table top PC. It's a reasonable design and with a simple hole to attach a carrying tag for a neck badge lanyard or keyring.

This flash drive, is so convenient, its two ends plug into two different sizes of USB, so one size for the usual usb size you have on desktop pc's, laptops, netbooks, the other into android phones and any other type of phone that has the micro usb port, it uses On The Go (O.T.G.) so provided your device has that capability and most new ones do and many that have been round a while, it just allows the device to see it as a drive, its brill, you can read, copy or move files backwards and forwards)

17.9.2017

Whilst it is quite easy to transfer files using Bluetooth I really find a small flash drive like this quicker and easier to use. At 64Gb it's on the small side but for transferring photos from my phone to my laptop it's perfect. It's USB3.0 but my laptop is only USB2.0 so I couldn't take advantage of the higher transfer rate. The only problem I found is that being physically small I kept mislaying it but I can hardly blame that on the device. Great little gadget. Recommended.

Perfect for updating Windows 10 on a tablet with limited 16GB memory - unable to update windows to the latest version because of limited memory capacity. This unit saved the day - used the USB to download file on PC then the micro-usb to install the latest Windows 10 update on my tablet.Result - one 16 GB 10.1 inch Windows tablet running the May 2018 version of Windows 10. Brilliant. Then loaned to my son who could then unlock his chrome book after a system crash.

I bought this to mainly transfer files from my mobile to my laptop. Was fed up with using wire to copy files or bluetooth. Had to download the Memoryzone app with it, however I didn't like it so I deleted it. I now move photos from my files on the phone by copying them over. It is quite small and slightly fiddly to open. However works well and it is cheap. Sometimes it says there's a problem with the usb and to scan it, I ignore it and it still works fine

With the onboard SanDisk App installed I could copy or move files between Internal memory, installed SD card of my Google Android tablet and the Dual memory device plugged into the USB C charging socket. I could then take it out and plug the Dual into my Mini Mac desktop computer using the other end (hence Dual) which had a standard USB male connector. The mini Mac recognised the Dual as any other USB Memory stick without any extra software involved.
