This is a pretty big flash drive – unnecessarily so in my opinion. I've had another for years that's the size of my thumbnail so I don't really know why this is so big. It's also devoid of any style. The size means it does stick out a long way from any port you plug it into, making the connection less stable, and that's the biggest downside – perhaps the only downside. I will probably get a mini extension for it in the end to stop me knocking it out of the port. However, it does everything else pretty well. I like the sliding retractable mechanism that has a reassuring old-fashioned click to it. And the size makes it sturdier and less likely to be lost. I like how fast it works too.I can't verify Sandisk's headline claim about how fast it downloads a 4K video but assume it's true. It makes storing things like that much less of a pain, though if you're going to store a lot of 4K video, you'll soon want more than 64GB – one minute of 4K video shot on a phone typically takes up 375MB, so that's about one full-length blockbuster and a few funny cat clips on this 64GB drive. You can download free recovery and security software for this flash drive from Sandisk. This could be useful for private users but might not be authorised for work use in an office like mine that has its own strict security requirements for removable memory.

This is quite an expensive USB stick - so my immediate question is what justifies the price. I found:- Extremely quick transfer speeds; this is the first time I've used a USB 3.1, and it was noticeably quicker. So quick, to be honest, that I would be happy to store non-essential files directly on this - anything less than a full-length video transfers so quickly as to be almost instantaneous. This is a big plus for me as a teacher.- Very good build quality. I destroy USB sticks. I don't mean to, I just do. It frustrates me when one is made that has e.g. a flimsy cap that breaks off quickly. This one has a retractable mechanism that protects the connector itself, and it seems very solidly built (I'll edit this review if that changes over time).- A very large storage capacity - whether this is needed or not is another question! The only real downside for me is the length of the stick - it sticks out a long way from my computer, which is one of the ways I manage to destroy USB sticks i.e. by bending them. If this doesn't bother you, and you're willing to pay the premium for a stick of this size and speed, I'd recommend it.

Have had this product for 18 months and it never fails to impress. I use this every day for transferring files between laptops, PCs and colleagues. It has never let me down and has never slowed down. Its average transfer speeds are around 120MB/s higher if transferring single large files, slower if transferring lots of small files but rarely does the average drop below 100MB/s. For those people who score it badly on transfer speed I would suggest checking ports and/or drivers. Depending on OS USB3.0/3.1 is not supported even on a USB3 port unless you have the correct drivers. Generally in these cases you will see speeds more akin to USB2 or even slower.Yes there are faster sticks around now but bang for buck you can't really go wrong with this.

Ok, first off, I'm not a technical whizz kid by any means, so do forgive me if I don't have the right terminology or review this in a simple way!I think it's rather expensive, compared to others, but I'm a true believer of getting what you pay for, and this is very fine quality. It is quite large, the only minus point I can think of really, as I am a bit of a clumsy clot with things. It's really handy that it retracts, therefore protecting it when not I use.It performs extremely well, very fast and efficient. My other half has tried to pinch this from me, but I'm hanging on to it. I am tempted to get the larger memory version, I like this one so much.Would definitely recommend this, even though it is quite pricey.

Device tests to read / write at the stated speeds on some PCs. The initial ex-fat partition had to be re-formatted to ext4fs or f2fs to get the performance on linux, and write speed was quite a bit slower on a raspberry Pi 4b vs write on a Solidrun ARM PC / conventional skylake PC (read speed was just below 200Mb/s on all devices).Currently in use as the root drive for the Pi I've got running my DHCP server, syslog and SNMP server. Like night and day for system responsiveness even compared to a top speed SD card. Well worth it as avoided the need to buy another mini PC.

I had a few USB drives I purchased for almost nothing at the local electronics shop last year. It was painfully slow to write anything to them. It could take easily half an hour to write 8G in one of those awful devices.I went online looking for faster USB drives that I could use for backing up my data or creating OS installation media. I purchased this expecting a minor but noticeable improvement. I was blown away by the speed so much that I installed Fedora OS in it and use it as my main drive instead of the one in the computer.

Replaces one that was USB 3.0 which is now intermittent and has lost its formatting on two recent occasions for no immediately obvious reason. This is USB 3.1 v1 and so is backwards compatible with older PCs but will potentially be a little faster if used on a USB 3.1 socket. There is no option for USB C but there are adapters if required. It is quite fast and earlier versions of this drive (USB 3.0) have been successfully used for some time.

This is a useful USB stick. Although I don't have any devices capable of USB 3.1, it has a fairly decent transfer rate of about 160 Mbits/sec on my Windows machine, and about the same on my 2011 Mac. I haven't tried the secure access bit - it comes with an installer for Windows, but a Mac installer needs to be downloaded. It doesn't document what sort of encryption is used; hopefully not one of the easily hackable ones.

Use it for the 'TimeShift' function on Smart HDTV. Works really well. The occasional jittery movement I experienced with a Corsair USB3.0 memory stick has disappeared. Maybe that's due to some minor incompatibility between the TV and the Corsair stick or perhaps it's a speed issue as the ScanDisk specification states faster read & write speeds. Too early to judge reliability.

Really impressive read and write speeds, very pleased with item... I gave it 4 stars for value only as l now realize same item is available cheaper,( so 66î however I was happy with original price, since purchase item can be purchased new under £20.. I think it is easily worth this for reputable brand... Also usb 3.1 future proof for time being.. 64 GB

So far so good. Don't know how many years or Read / Write processes this SanDisk will last as compared to other SanDisk or Transcend we use. We stopped buying Kingston because we have had more failures with them than first two brands and fail in shorter time. Giving 4 stars until, perhaps in a few years, it will have proven longivity.

Although it's fast, it's not as fast as SanDisk advertises. Write speed is about 90-110MB/s, and read speed 150-190MB/s. Still, you can't find anything faster in this price group.Reliability and build quality is good. I especially like the sliding mechanism of the connector, it seems very robust.

Model: SDCZ800-064G-G46Name: SanDisk Extreme Go USB 3.1Size: 64 GBThe plastic on the switch to extract the USB rattles a little, but this doesn't bother me. Did a speed test. The sequential write was a little slower than I expected, but 70 MB/s is still really good.

this is the only one of this kind that i have that still works, other sandisk usb 3 and 3.1 sticks i got all stopped working within months so the reliability of sandisk usb sticks is still crap, this is why i moved on to the very reliable "KingSpec Z3 Portable drives"

Using this as an external (expanding) drive for the Nvidia Shield TV. Works extremely well even if it looks like the Shield is continuously accessing it. Stable for a few months now. Light might be annoying if the Shield was visible in front of TV or similar.
