Firstly, I am a fan of Samsung and so I was disappointed I felt I had to mark this product down, however I had to remember that I was rating a 'Sports Watch' and not 'just' a 'Smart Watch'.The watch looks really stylish and suits me as an office worker both in the workplace and in the gym. The number of different watch faces available is great, and it's easy to switch between them at the touch (well, hold and swipe) of the home screen. You can use your phone to specify the apps that send notifications, you can read emails/texts/WhatsApp messages on the device and even quick reply to some of them. One plus is that when you 'deal' with a notification on either your phone or watch,it clears it from the other device - you don't get this with cheaper watches. There are some great features packed in too! The ability to locate your phone or watch from the other device, and even send SOS notifications discretely (with location tracking) from the watch if needed. The watch can also connect via WiFi networks that you have pre-saved just in case the phone is out of range.Probably the most useful feature for the gym is the ability to use the internal memory to store music and photos. You can connect Bluetooth earphones directly to the watch and then play the music through the headphones without your phone and if you subscribe to something like Spotify you can load the app and stream it via WiFi!You can also use Samsung Pay; although similarly to both the phone app and the earlier Gear devices, bank support for Samsung Pay is still limited over Android Pay.The voice recognition is 'S Voice' which is a shame, I would have preferred the other ones available on Samsung's own smartphones.Battery life is good and I can get a couple of days from it easily with only a tweak of a couple of settings. I haven't needed to use the battery saver yet either, which lengthens it's life a little bit more. The only shame is that I can only charge it using the enclosed stand, and my existing wireless chargers don't support it, so for someone like me I might want to purchase an additional 'dock' for work.Sleep tracking is also really helpful and detailed. The watch can track light sleeping and motionless sleeping, and gives you an 'efficiency' percentage... now I know the secrets of why I am tired all the time!Unfortunately for me there were a couple of key things that brought it down for me as a 'Sports Watch'. The watch has the ability to be able to identify the workout you are doing automatically, which is handy, or you can select it manually; however the data it gave me didn't match what I expected. The step count is okay and isn't too inaccurate, but for actual workouts such as running and using rowing machines, I felt the calorie counts were well off. Given that this is the main purpose for the Gear 'Sport' I was disappointed. In summary though, I am a fan of the Gear Sport as a smart watch, but I think there is more work needed to allow this watch to really compete with the likes of the specialist sports watches, particularly around the accuracy of workout data. For me, as a 'techy', I prefer the smart watch capabilities over the sports tracking which is just a nice to have, so overall I am happy.

Ive had this watch for nearly a month now, and have found it a fantastic bit of kit.Pro's:* comfortable, the strap supplied (i choose the blue one) is sturdy and well made, easy to adjust and comes with a smaller option if needed. it easily comes apart, but not easily enough to break during use.* Bezel : the rotating bezel is a great tool on this watch, and makes navigating through the options lots easier. allowing quick movements and a easy to use experience.* Watch faces : The watch face can be change for a variety of free watch faces on the gear app, or ones that can be purchased, i have found the free ones to be sufficient, and offer plenty of variation.* GPS /Step counter : the step counter and GPS is very good and as of yet i have no complaints about either, both seem to be very accurate, as i use the step counter everyday to help me kee active enough throughout the day.Cons* Apps : there is no where near enough apps available for this watch, which for some people will leave it lagging behind, i have found it limiting, even my old gear fit 2 used to show all my notifications from my phone, but this doesn't.* Wake up : the watch doesnt offer a wake up function when you turn your wrist, so to see the time you have to physically pres a button or turn the bezel, which doesn't sound bad until you've got hands full,or its the 200 time in the day you've needed to check the time. Not a massive issue but would certainly make the watch better.* Stop Watch : For the life of me i cannot find a stop watch anywhere on the phone, other than using the main watch face, which again isn't a major issue, but for my job it is easy to use a stop watch function. In closing, personally i think this watch is great, i am yet to test it underwater but i am looking forward to swimming with it and tracking my swim. The easy of use is appealing and the samsung pay function is good, the watch faces are high quality and the watch itself is well made, battery life is good, and goes a good 4/5 days of use without having to charge it up. Certainly worth a purchase if you're looking for a good smart watch with potential.

After trying several sport watches (Fitbit Versa, Ionic, Garmin vivoactive) I gave it a last shot with this Gear Sport. I was looking for a smart watch which is easy to use, doesn t crash all th time or lose BT connection like the Garmin watch which counts steps reliably without extreme overestimating like the Fitbits do and that has HR and sleep tracking. I am not a dedicated runner so didn t look into all the stuff with splits, laps, etc.And wow, I am really impressed. The Gear Sport has the most beautiful screen, crisp, vibrant colours and very reliable touch screen. The rotation bezel is so handy and easy. The watch was easy to set up, within just 5 minutes all was done! The step count is spot on as is the HR, which I cross checked with an other device. You can read all specs in many different reviews so I just write about what matter to me most. Easy to use, great looking and very reliable . I m a spotify prime user and had no problems to get my tracks on the watch or listen to Spotify right from the watch. There are enough different apps for anything to chose from so I don t understand why some wrote the apps were limited. Well, I guess it depends on if you want your watch to do everything for you. You ll be disappointed because this watch cannot brew tea or coffee, lol. Last but not least I need to mention that this watch can be operated even without being connected to your phone, which was important to me because I suffered serious side effects from the Fitbits' always on BT. The Gear Sport gives you the option to switch off BT. I switch it off during the day and back on to sync with Samsung health at the end of the day.It still counts your steps! The connection between phone and watch is very reliable: as soon as you leave without taking the phone the watch vibrates and an icon appears that the watch is disconnected. As soon as you come within range of your phone s BT the connection re-establishes. The watch syncs without problems with Samsung Health, I have not tried another health app because I am happy with this one. Highly recommended watch. For me only pros, no cons

After owning the Gearfit and the Gearfit2, this had to be next. Simple to setup and customise, loads of free watch faces, including a load of fitness based ones. The built in GPS means you dont have to take your phone out with you when running or cycling. Its reportedly waterproof up to 50M, but i cant swim, so havent tested this, BUT, i do fly, and the built in altimeter seems very accurate (itll get a proper test on saturday on a 12000 feet skydive)It automatically senses if youve been running or walking for a while, and then starts to encourage you to keep going, itll then sync to your fitness app for younotifications are not an issue, i get them for calls, textx, whatsapp, skype, from the paypal app on my phone if i get a payment, and the option to enable any others installed on my phone, you can view then on the watch, and also tap the watch which will then open the message etc on your phone. you can answer and reject calls using just the watch, including sending messages, and stop / snooze alarms etc as wellThe rotating bezel is a simple way to control things and scroll through screens, but you can also swipe the screen if thats your thingIve had the watch for a week, charged it to 100% before trying to set it up, ive charged it once since then, and right now, the battery is still on 46%, with the gear app telling me i have 1d 8h 36m lefta great selection of free watchfaces, as well as paid ones, and a load of different apps, both free and paidIt comes with a charging stand for the watch, but, best of all, it also comes with a Small strap, for the small wristed amoung us (like me)Basicly, its an awesome bit of kit, if youre still reading this, its because youre thinking of buying it, STOP thinking, and click the buy button, you know you want to, and you wont regret it, i dont

I have to admit at the start of this I am a very big Samsung fan, however, I hope you find this an unbiased and helpful review. I take my hat off to those clever people at Samsung for achieving the almost impossible feat of creating a new watch that out performs the already impressive Gear S3 Frontier. What you will receive if you buy one of these is everything you need to get going watch, charger and instruction booklet.1. Plug the watch in and charge it for the first time takes 3-4 hours as it already has a 60% ish charge2. Whilst this is going on download the ‘Samsung Gear’ app from the ‘Ply Store’, I have to admit I don’t know if its available for the iOS based systems as I am either Windows or Android.Run it and set it up.3. Connect your watch to your phone, top right hand corner click the three vertical dots and ‘Connect new Gear’ if this doesn’t work make sure Bluetooth is enabled. Once installed the app opens you up to a world of upgrades, watch face alternatives, fitness trackers etc. I even control my GoPro from my watch which is even better now the Sport if waterproof.4. If you want the full experience I would suggest you also install ‘Samsung Health’ app which even if you’re a couch potato will at least confirm your alive every now and then!I originally bought the Gear S3 Frontier in order that I didn’t have to drag my phone around every time I went for a run but eventually gave this idea up as I found the GPS was not very accurate, the same cannot be true of the Sport which is much more accurate. As with the Frontier you can also connect your Bluetooth headphones to it and therefore leave the bulky phone at home, freedom at last….

I have only just received my Gear Sport and when opening the box I couldn't wait to pick it up and start using it. Sadly my initial glee was dampened somewhat when I put it on my lady wrist and realised just how big and bulky it was. Yes I know it is smaller than the S3 but from a female perspective it is still large. Unfortunately for me personally, too large to wear as a daily watch. However, as I bought the watch primarily to use as a sports watch the size isn't a huge issue, although it would of been nice to have been comfortable wearing it all the time. I have to wear glasses to read so the screen is ideal for me to see without them and whilst out power walking riding or running i think i will see the benefit of having such a huge piece of equipment strapped to my wrist. Not really had chance to test the accuracy of the GPS and heart rate monitor yet, reading other reviews I am hoping my experience is a good one, although I am concerned it may not be. I use Map my Run and on my S9 the app is constantly auto pausing. I hope I have a better experience using the app through the watch.Samsung if only you could consider your female fans and produce smart/sports watches that are slightly smaller I think you would take your place at the top of the wearables table

I pre-ordered the gear S3 as I did not want an apple watch but wanted the waterproof feature. Although I have to agree with others with regards to a lack of app availability, ultimately the watch does everything you could ever want it to do. Notifications come through clearly, and are easy to read, with the ability to remote open the app on your phone when needing to reply (but you can reply on the watch itself). I think Samsung do need to invest more in 3rd party app development for this platform (which by the way is silky smooth and works great). As this is a fit was device, I think it would be in their interest if they improved the integration to 3rd party fitness apps (whether that be improving the sync from Samsung fitness or develop standalone apps).I had 4 days of use on single charge (not heavy use but did involve a swim workout and downloading and installing new watch faces each night), and can not complain about the battery. Logging workouts is so easy, and I love the auto detect workout feature. I would also like to add I am using with a Huawei phone. You can also set up Samsung pay on the device itself (you do not need a Samsung phone to do this) and it works great. Overall I am extremely pleased with the device.

The gear sport is by far one of the best fitness based smart watches on the market. I was surprised on how comfy and still smart looking the rubber strap was and felt on my wrist, definitely not what I expected.I have linked the watch to my Note 8 and synced up with apps like Samsung health, Samsung pay. The fitness tracking is really impressive. Whether you have just gone for a stroll at lunch time to a full blown run, it tracks it effortlessly and can even plot your run on a map to view on your phone. The heart rate sensor seems to be accurate as well as the step count.Another big plus point is the watch being waterproof. I have tried it with the swimming tracking mode and it great. The screen still works well with water droplets after getting out the pool.Drawbacks:The watch would be perfect if it was1) running android wear - the watch lacks the ability to fully integrate with android apps/phone2) had a loud speaker - it would be great to be able to take calls from the watch3) no decent map application for navigationOverall I would hugely recommend the watch to people that want to track their fitness and also sleep but still have a great looking watch that you could wear on all occasions.

I have had Michael Kors Smartwatches before but I found that the way which the watch glass was raised up, it was very easy to bang and catch every day, and I was worried that the watch face would smash, as one had previously!I got my partner a Samsung smartwatch and thought they were amazing, and decided to get one myself.Although the watch looks rather bland with wrist straps etc, in comparison to MK smartwatch, the actual watch and features are amazing!.It does everything! It is very easy to operate, so anyone would be able to use it, you don't have to be a tech geek!.There are alot of free apps available but requires you to look threw galaxy store. There are some really good Free watch faces which can be downloaded from the galaxy store,so you can change the look of your watch as often as you like!Only gripes I have is the watch takes a goodwhile to charge, and I am not sure how accurate the bpm and other health features are, as I have had a few readings which are so different and which were read minutes apart!.Can't wait for a new version to come out - keep up the great work Samsung!.Read full review...

One of the best purchases I've made. I used to have a fitbit but grown bored of it very quickly. But the Samsung sport has so many features I'm finding new ways to use it everyday. The touch screen is fantastic but I tend to use the rotating bevel as it much easier. Battery life is phenomenal. I wear it to sleep to track my sleep so I tend to keep it on for 3 days without a charge. Comes with a wireless charger. Very customisable to your own preference, I like changing the watch face Every now an then to make it feel like a new watch again, u can also add photos from your phone as your face. Straps ate very easy to change, waterproof although I have not used it yet but looking at videos from YouTube the waterproof is supposed to be very good.Love having my messages pop up on there so I can see if I need to get my phone out or not. Overall I currently cannot fault it. Great bit of kit. Only thing I will say is the Spotify app on there has many bugs and needs sorting as it would be a game changing feature for me.

Having been using this watch for over a week now I have to say I'm slightly disappointed in some of its capabilities. The battery life isn't great maybe two days out of a charge. It doesn't have Samsung pay installed and you cant add it which is a pain. But other than those two little gripes it's a good watch . It feels well made the screen is big enough and clear and the navigation is easy enough to use . There are some good third party apps for it for different watch faces etc. So it was worth the money second hand . But if I was buying a new one think I'd splash a bit more cash and buy the galaxy 3 instead

In a nutshell: gorgeous followup to the equally stunning Samsung Gear S3 but more of a version 2 rather than the next big Gear release.I've tested a number of smartwatches over the years and this comes up as one of the best in terms of look and feel. However, I can't push my rating up to a 5-star. Reasons below.Pros:1) First of all - this watch is gorgeous. It's similar to the Gear S3 in design but is smaller. The Gear S3 looked too large for my hand so this one was just the right size. The finish is a dark metallic/grey watch which feels entirely premium. The similarly priced

I will start by saying this watch is comfortable. I previously had a gear s3 classic and found this watch way too big and uncomfortable however, i'm happy to say that isn't the same for this watch. The design looks great and the strap is comfortable (black version). The lug width is 20mm so you could fit an aftermarket strap if you wanted.I would like to see more apps available for tizen OS especially google pay. However, overall a good watch!

14.1.2019

I love my watch! It's not 100% accurate but I was expecting that as its mid price range. EXCELLENT value for money. Does everything and looks hot! When I swim its only out by a couple of lengths. It's stunning looking! I had problems with the strap irritating my skin. I solved it by sleeping with it on my left and by day wear on my right. I'm very impressed by this watch.

7.3.2019

Love this watch. Have it for about a month. Battery easily gets through 3 days with always on function turned off. Rotating bezel is quality. The watch is great in the water which is one of the main reasons I bought it. Speedo on app is a great app to help improve your swimming. Sleep analysis is also very good and the watch itself is very comfortable to wear.
