I've had my (black) A8 for a few months and am now buying this one to give my wife for christmas. The battery lasts hours even when watching netflix/listening to music on spotify and the screen was plenty easy enough to see even in daylight outside.A little laggy on games like mario kart tour but all-in-all great value for money and I didn't really expect it to compete with my Galaxy S10 which is 5x the price :)It does come with a Micro-USB charger which I found a little frustrating given everything else I now own has moved to USB-C and doesn't have native screensharing capability however I have since found a couple of workarounds to this;1.Connect to chromecast via the google home app and use the experimental screen mirroring feature from the account tab (only works when connected to same wifi as your chromecast):a. Connect your Android device to the same Wi-Fi network as your Chromecast device.b. Open the Google Home app Google Home app and go to the Account tab .c. Scroll down and look for Mirror device and tap on it.d. Tap on the CAST SCREEN/AUDIO button.e. Select your Chromecast device.2. Buy a micro-usb to HDMI cableI recently bought one of these to use with my tablet and work phone while away from home to save having to unplug my chromecast, take it with me, and reset the wifi connection whenver I went away and it has been much easier.You just download the companion app, connect to the HDMI adapter via bluetooth to send the audio, and away you go.Cable can be bought here:https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B07T5KB48R/

I bought this as a replacement for my old iPad mini. First let me say I could not fault my iPad but what with the high cost and Apples reluctance to allow extra memory to be added really grates on me. This tablet is around the same size and weight as the ipad mini but that's where the similarity ends. I have resisted buying anything but macs since tossing my last Microsoft computer in the bin in the late 90's. Since then I have always thought that Mac operating systems are written in concrete and microsoft systems are written on tissue paper. I haven't changed my mind. The first thing to point out is the on/off switch on the side of the tablet.I can't count the number of times I have switched her the screen off by slightly brushing the switch. This has been cured by putting the tablet into a rubber case. The touch screen is not the best and can make playing solitaire frustrating. The fact that you can slip in a large sd card for extra memory is brilliant but then you find you can't move any of the many apps that come preloaded onto the card. In fact none of the apps I have installed can be moved onto the card. Maybe there is a way to move them but it's too complex for me to work out. The screen is excellent as is the battery life . It's quick at opening apps and browsing. All in all it is a good little tablet for the money.

I received my tablet today and I'm very happy ! It was so easy to set up up no complications at all and the screen is very good quality for the price you can't notice a difference and everything displays nicely. I was able to download Google Docs onto this device and link it with my university work that I have on my laptop meaning I can edit documents on the go with this tablet and the changes will save onto my laptop. It is very fast and responsive and I have had no issues with the touch screen at all. This is a very good tablet for anyone who doesn't want it for heavy duty as I don't know how good it would be for that but seeing as you can download word and Google Docs onto this it could be good.So if you are sceptical about buying this don't be it is really good and functions really well! The One criticism I have about it is that the charger that comes with it is a very short wire but I'm just going to purchase a longer one for cheap online so it isn't a major issue. The 8-inch is a really nice size and overall I'm so happy that I bought this because I almost didn't based on some reviews I have seen online!

Bought this to replace my Fire 8 which was slow and clunky even though I kept clearing the rubbish out of it. This Samsung tab is far superior but then it is nearly double the price. Bought Samsung as I thought I was buying made in Korea, as I no longer wish to buy Chinese made products. But wrong, it is made in China!!!!Had it a week now and it is far superior to the Fire and I can load what apps I want and not be stuck with some of the c*** Amazon apps you cannot delete which clutter the Fire's home screen.I find the Samsung screen clear and bright and for some reason the predictive text is far superior to the Fire. For some reason the Fire kept wanting to change my words,even though I'd tried to sort that problem through Settings.I don't use it for games so cannot comment on that aspect, but for general use, emails, browsing, etc. it is great, and far superior to the Fire.

This was probably the easiest tablet I've had to set up, it's straightforward and intuitive, with prompts all the way for guidance.I've only had it a few days, and I've used it a couple of nights for probably 3-5 hours each night and the battery is still just over 60%, which is amazing in comparison to my previous tablet of a different brand, which seemed to gobble up my battery within the first hour!I generally use a tablet for emails, social media, listening to music and podcasts, watching YouTube and catch-up tv, drawing and photo editing, and so far this tablet has exceeded my expectations.I know to some it might be considered a budget tablet from a big brand, and obviously you do get what you pay for,but for me and my requirements it's ideal, and it's a good size to use while travelling too!

Love this. I've had a Samsung Galaxy Tab A for a couple of years and am an avid gamer. It got too difficult to play both the games I play to their full extent so bought this for Big Farm and the original is for Merge Dragons. Both play well on these devices even though the OS on the original one is no longer updated. The Tab A8 is way lighter and smaller than my original but the screensize does not feel much reduced, probably because the home and back buttons are on the screen rather than the body now. The downside of that is that when I type I quite often hit back instead of the keyboard space button and lose all my text. User error though.

This is my third Galaxy tab but the first 8inch model which I bought for my wife.The screen is good and the colours accurate unlike many competitors. Unlike its big brother it did have Microsoft office pre installed.Being familiar with the qwerks and shortcomings of the Samsung launcher I always load nova launcher which makes customisation so much easier.My wife has spent many hours browsing her favourite sites and so far I have had no complaints so it must be good what more can I say

This was bought as a replacement for a Hudl for basic purposes (streaming music, mail, web browsing etc) with Android and access to Google Playstore. There's not a great deal of choice for tablets smaller than 10 inches. It's well made though slippery to hold so I've bought a case. Performance is good. Storage at 32Gb is ample for my needs. So far it's proved entirely reliable in connecting to my network. All-in-all I'm very happy with it as a basic tablet. It does just what I wanted.

Purchased this for travel because I travel internationally for work frequently. It has been a perfect addition to my travel. Small and portable but also very well priced. I use this mainly for streaming videos.I have used the 10 inch tablet and the video quality is slightly clearer, crisper and more vibrant. The A8's more compact design and lighter weight made it worth the size downgrade. If I could turn back time I would still purchase the A8.

Bought this tablet for my son. It’s similar to an I pad mini. Processor speed fairly quick for price and battery life is not too bad. Would recommend if u want a half decent tablet and are on a budget. The only real alternatives in this price range are the amazon fire and Huawei models. After researching this was the one I found to be the best option, as Samsung usually provides two major updates which will extend the lifetime of the tablet.

It's OK but I'm still struggling to find my way around it. Why do manufacturers have to supply us with zillions of pages of small print on disclaimers about their obligations and liabilities to us users, which let's face it only a complete nerd would read from start to finish, but fail to give us more than a few words on how to set up and use the darned thing? Almost at the point of giving up and going back to my trusty laptop!

Bought this to replace my old Samsung tablet A tablet that has lasted for several years despite a few knocks. Hoping this one will too, it has great graphics, lots of settings and memory, and the battery life is several days with intermittent daily use. It's a bit more compact and chunkier than previously but it packs a punch and fits easy in a bag. Would recommend it since the previous one has worked so well for so long.

The only manual offered with the Galaxy Tab 8 is multiple pages on their web site; useless when not online. I rang up and they did not even understand the question. I was offered a paper manual by post for free, but when it arrived it was for a Samsung washing machine similar to the one I have. Eventually I found where in the Samsung web site I could download a PDF manual which I now have safely installed on my tablet!

Great to finally get hold of the Galaxy small tablet which has been sold out in the past. It performs well and quickly with different tabs open. The display is very clear and shows colour and details brightly and crisply. The video and sound is excellent for this form factor and comfortable for tv programmes or movie streaming. A great value, compact and easily portable package with premium finish and performance.

I've been waiting for ages for this tablet.I missed my old 8" tablet by Samsung. It didn't have enough memory on it and crashed years ago.This has a big 32gb memory, I'm enjoying using this tablet so much, easy to carry around,Hold so much more information.Larger screen than my last tablet.I just like Samsung, Easyer to use than other well know brands.I would recommend to this to every one.
