I have wasted so much money on cheap non-branded cases which last a couple of weeks and then look dreadful. So, this time I thought I'd try a proper Samsung product and hopefully not be replacing cases every x weeks. I've only received this product today, but will come back and update my review if the durability isn't good or a fault occurs. I bought the cover for my not so old 2017 A5 model, in the same light blue as this case. My phone had to have the screen replaced, and when it was replaced the back of the phone developed horrible lifted sections in the blue interior coating, where the phone was prised apart. So, without a case my phone looks awful, but still entirely functional and I'm not replacing it whilst that is the case.

First, FYI there is no catch to hold the cover closed. Not an issue. Secondly, closing the cover is supposed to turn the screen off. Normally it does, but on rare occasions this doesn't work, and then continues not to work. This has been solved by turning off NFC, then the phone, then turning back on and turning NFC back on. But it has also been solved just by turning the phone off and on. The jury is out on the solution, but there is definitely a problem.

Bought this for my sister in gold as she had admired mine (she has the Samsung Galaxy A3 & I have the A5). We are both delighted with the cover. It provides all-round protection allowing the phone to be carried in your hand or handbag with complete confidence. We love the visible orange glow feature that silently alerts you to notifications even when the cover is closed & your phone is in silent mode. Very happy to recommend this cover.

Beautiful - has a lovely "feel" to it. I also like how the orange edging lights up when a call is received and when the cover is closed.I do have one (slight) problem with it in that it seems not to be quite the right size as it does not stay closed -means I have to turn the phone over when I put it down, ie leaving the camera lens exposed (which is not ideal).Just a small point. Overall, I am very happy with this item.

Looks good and fits my A3 perfectly. Quality questionable, thin smooth plastic, hinge may not last, time will tell. Bought to replace 2 year old authentic case which was better made - Samsung name was embossed on rear for example, not just printed on like the new one is. This case if offered at discounted price - service from Amazon and supplier Fonejoy excellent. Delivered by Royal Mail postman in only a few days - wow !

Lovely case which fits A5 2017 model perfectly. Love the fact that the flu cover folds back nearly behind the phone. Perfectly the phone perfectly on all sides. NFC should be turned on to enable the answering feature with the case closed. Would be even better if u could interact even more with phone with case closed such as type message or read notifications. Still very happy with it and great price from Amazon

This is perfect protection for the A5 screen. It is a little fiddly when used as a phone but the front cover folds back nicely and is more or less out of the way and is something I can cope with if it protects the screen. The front flap can be notched into the bit that holds the actual phone to become a stand which is handy. All in all, a very good item and worth the money.

Such a cool case.The light effects when you close the case are fantastic and work off the phone screen light althout it looks like the case itself has lights in it.It's a sturdy hard wearing case but there is no way to secure the cover close so it's possible if you drop it or put it in a bag that the cover will flip open leaving the screen vulnerable

I had tried a cheaper product from a different company when I changed my phone but that one was awful so I went for this genuine Samsung product and it was excellent, much easier to apply than the cheap one and with hardly any air pockets. Plus you get 2 in the packet so if the one I'm using gets too worn I can replace it with the next one. Very happy!

Genuine Samsung. Perfect fit. I like that the neon edging flashes if there is a call etc. It's smoother than my previous Samsung case and I thought it might be slippy in my hands, but it has been fine. Also it's good that you don't take the back off your phone as with previous Samsung flip cases. I like that it's a perfect colour match for my phone.

Strong design, I like the fact that the orange edge lights up when the screen is on but the cover is closed. Note that the new phone does not have a removable back, therefore the whole phone is clipped into this cover. It does make it a bit thicker but I feel that my phone is more protected and it still fits into my pockets easily.

This has given my phone a new lease of life, looks great and I like the feel. It's exactly the same shade of blue as the phone so looks the part. I don't think it will last as long or protect as well as the previous Silicone shell I had on the phone, but it looks better, is reasonably priced and I'm careful.

I've now fitted the screen saver and it looks good, but it was very fiddly and took some time for me to realise there was more than one peel off layer, there's actually 3 layers to peel off. So a few more instructions would have been helpful and time saving.But very pleased with the end result.

After reading the reviews i decided to ignore and order rhe case, i was pleasently surprised. It looks nice and is a nice blue colour to match the phone, only negative is the clock doesn't shine though or the caller id, which the description describes, otherwise it would of been a five star.

A excellent choice! Very good for its price, especially the neon edge notification feature. Would definitely recommend to anyone with a Galaxy A5 2017 phone. Doesn't have to match the phone colour: My A5 is Blue Mist, but I bought the black version, and matches perfectly. Kudos :)
