1 year later - update:The shoes are good! Over the last 3 months I've been training for a half-marathon so they've done quite a lot more mileage since my original post (a very rough estimate is that they're on about 1100km). The tread is now properly worn down, to the point where I am going to need to replace them soon as I'll need to wear-in the next pair before the race. The rest of the shoe is still solid - the uppers are still in good condition, the quick lace system is still perfect. Internally they're pretty well-used, but that's to be expected. I suspect the cushioning is probably long past it's prime but I haven't had any injuries to suggest it's totally done for.Another bonus is that they've remained waterproof and I still have dry feet after a run through puddles and wet trails. I will be buying the same XA Lite GTX's again as they've really proved themselves.Original reviewHeld off reviewing these until I'd properly used them. They are really good shoes. Tried these as a change from my usual Salomon Men's XA Pro 3D GTX. They are slightly lighter and don't feel as rugged across the top of the shoe, but do have a bit more flex (which some people prefer in a running shoe). My usual running route is a 5km mix of mud, gravel, tarmac. The shoes are coming up to 7 months old now and are still in good condition - they've probably run about 600ish km so far - but I also use them every day as my work shoes, so they get no rest :) Sole is starting to wear slightly but nothing serious. My previous pair of Salomon Men's XA Pro 3D GTX's split across the top of the shoe (where it bends at the toes), this meant water started getting in and they were no longer keeping my feet dry. These XA lite's don't appear to have that same design flaw. Will probably buy these again when I next need a pair of running shoes. For info: I wear a size 10 with the Salomon Men's XA Pro 3D GTX's and I chose a size 10 with these and they fit spot on.

Went up a size as my fit was too small (toes touched the end), but even after doing that, proved uncomfortable across the foot after a few miles and yet the heel slips somewhat. Lace tensioner also very tight to move and suspect it will break with time. Turned to another brand now, which is a shame as in other regards (such as grip and water proofing) I like these a lot and given the price I would like to have gotten more use out of them.
