Right out of the box I put these bad boys on for a bit of testing out inside the house, and they felt like a glove when I slid them on my feet. Excellent heel cup and support, with a roomy toe box, and the lacing is superb in my opinion. With 2 separate locking points over the top of the foot, you can really get a custom fit. Speaking of custom fit, the adjustable insoles make these boots sit apart from other brands, allowing you to customize for a standard or narrow fit. Overall initial impression is very good. Once I'm positive I like the fit, I'll do some more testing, and try to remember to update my review, lol.Update: I've been wearing these around the house for a few days now,as well as submitted them to the tub test. I've just redone the tub test with an ice bath to test the warmth while submerged. I've been sitting on the edge of the tub for 30min with my feet in the ice bath submerged above the ankle, and my feet are still dry and toasty. Even with the lack of heat from movement, my feet are still comfortable on the inside. This is a bit of a worse case scenario, being submerged in cold water, but I know they can do it now, no problem. I'm very eager to get these on the mountain for a real test, but I'd definitely recommend these.

When it comes to hard core climbing/ hiking boots, they just don't get any better then SALEWA boots!Having had the M-2 Pro Vertical boots, I was dissapointed when they discontinued them, but these Vultures are every bit as good as the old boots! Fit is a slightly tight, but once broken in, they fit exactly! Adjustments are secure and easy to maintain as set, traction is second to none, and vertical performance is outstanding! These are super comfortable, nice and stiff with tons of support and stability, and even when dancing on the rudder pedals in my plane, they are easy as shoes to work the controls! I use these year round, from flying to hiking, to winter hunting in wet and snow, these are unbeatable! In short, you cannot get a better boot at any price, PERIOD!

I love these shoes. Tough, durable, lightweight and breathable. They're a very good looking design as well with sleek form, interesting but not over fussy patterning. The fit is excellent for my feet as the larger toe box doesn't cramp my toes or chafe as many other walking shoes have and I've had no problems at the heel or ankle either. I've spent several long days hiking over moderately rough and muddy terrain now over 3 months of having them and many more days using them as city shoes. Throughout they have felt just as comfortable at the end of the day as at the start - remarkable. They proven easy to clean even when mud caked (allowing to dry and using a soft brush to remove excess mud)just with a clean sponge and warm water. Absolutely class.

I really like these shoes - they're first pair of Salewa's. I have a pair of Keen's for hiking, and wanted to get a pair of approach shoes for my ascend to Mt Tyndall (class 2-3 scramble). These are perfect shoes for scrambling. That said, after putting about 32 miles total over 4 days span, these are better shoes for scrambling than hiking. On 2 days where we were putting 8 - 12miles hikes (no scrambling), these shoes got a bit tiring on my feet. My feet just felt a bit of "beat-up" at end of day compared to my Keen hiking shoes. They will pass for hiking duty, but I'll say there are more comfortable hiking shoes in the market. But if you're looking to do some ascend/descend scrambling, these will work great.

Feels really good and works great with the type of terrain it's advertised for.It is impressively light and you almost "forget" that you are wearing them.Used it every day for a couple of months in quite a diversity of terrain, including mountain, rocky, sand (dessert) and both very dry and wet terrain.Although it's not "waterproof" it surprisingly dries up quickly and of which it works well in different types of weather.I didn't think the shoelaces would be any good but it has only unintentionally "opened up" a couple of times the last months.Recommended product

So far it’s a great show, I can’t speak on durability just yet because I have less than 30 trail miles on these. I ordered the exact same size as I wear every other shoe in and they fit just fine. The reason I’m writing this review is because of the color. I ordered the black / olive shoes. In no world are these shoes even close to looking like the picture listed them as. The shoes I received are 100% grey and black. Just be aware of that, I was a little disappointed with the color as I liked the olive look that was depicted.

My husband was in the market for some good water hiking shoes and went to several sporting goods stores trying on shoes. He found these and fell in love with how comfortable they were. Only problem was in the store they were $130. We hopped on Amazon while in the store, found the exact same shoe for way cheaper so bought them online right there in the store!!! He just wore them on a 13 mile water hike and LOVED them. They were comfy and he didn't get any blisters and could have worn them longer. These are great shoes.

These shoes are what I was hoping for and expecting. These shoes are a Porshe 911 and not a Lincoln Town Car. These shoes are not cushy, but they are tough. Many shoes I've had have had the rubber fail around the toes and have had the soles delaminate after a far too disappointing time period. These have lasted, and after two years of use still appear as new. I would buy these again, but I know it will be a long time before this shoe needs replacing! I will be trying Salewa for my next hiking boot!

I followed the recommendations on the sizing and order appropriately. So far, I have a couple weeks on these shoes. The day after buying them, I put on three six miles days of walking around San Diego and they felt good. As other have mentioned, they are solid shoes and not overly soft. However, they fit great, which reduces most fatigue. Based on this purchase, I will probably order other Salewa models, including a GTX version.

Got it for my bf, a climber who is constantly complaining about sweaty feet. Apparently, this does vent well enough to keep his feet dry, its comfortable and grippy enough for tough approaches. He's thanked me for these plenty of times, so I thought I should write a review. I bought him the exact same size that he wears for normal street shoes, and it fit him perfectly.

Supportive and rigid. Can’t wait to wear these in the winter. It’s too early to tell how warm they’ll be but the ride and comfort are spectacular! Though they were not constructed for a lineman, they’re by far the best boot I’ve ever owned and I haven’t even worn them to work yet! Even more comfortable than the Raven 2 that I am currently wearing in the warmer months.

Not a whole lot of cushioning, but offers a nice, snug fit. Definitely looks like rock climbing shoes, so if you don't rock climb you might feel like a poser. Pretty good (average) forefoot width: better than Salomon, worse than Altra. Laces are slide while you tie them, so it makes it tough to get a tight fit.

Love these boots. They are my every day lightweight pair. Use them for my shorter, lower walks in the lakes and general dog walking. Comfortable, lightweight and waterproof. I have experienced good customer service in the last from Salewa when I had a faulty product.

I have a wide foot and high instep and these fit like a glove. Often hiking or approach shoes are clunky and cause your foot to pivot off the heal, forcing the front of your foot down. Not these, my stride and the roll through of my foot feel very natural

They're very comfortable and the quality is excellent. They'd be a 5-Star shoe if not for one thing: they squeak like the dickens. Hopefully, after a break-in period, they'll quiet down. If not, they'll be relegated to a position on my closet shelf.
