This gate is perfect safety gate and grate value for money. The gate is easy to install and very robust. Make sure you pay that little bit extra and get the model with the automatic closing. I originally had one of these gates in order to keep my two dogs contained in the kitchen - I didn't want the dogs scratching the kitchen door. It worked perfectly for years and was still working perfectly when we gave the gate to our son to keep our granddaughter safe. Now we've replaced with a new one!

This has saved so many arguments in my household about leaving the gate open. It’s really great not to have to worry about whether the gate has been left open so it’s such a peace of mind now. It fitted really well into my very narrow staircase and I bought the extension for my landing which comes in different widths. There are some little stoppers at the bottom Of the gate which allow to you keep the gate open - this is great for when baby is asleep for the night and gate isn’t needed.

I have had most stair gates over the years, this is the first, safety first brand one. It's more simple than others and some might say less pretty with the smaller bottom bolts. Our little boy is very strong and he can't come to any harm. The opening is very easy and effective design. You have to make it line up with slight room for error. It closes by spring loaded door which then as it closes pulls the lock out by magnetic force. Not perfect but one of the better easier designs

Really good stairgate, I love that it automatically swings closed behind you, and that it opens both ways. It has a green and red marker on top so when it’s locked and safe it turns green. I was worried about fiddly catches and visitors not being able to work it, but this gate is so easy to do one handed whilst holding the baby. I would buy another one if needed. It is tricky to fit but worth it once it’s done. I used an extension and it was easy to slot together

Excellent product I actually purchased 3 of these gates for various locations around the home. Gate closes behind you so you don't have to worry your little one will get past. Although do be careful if purchasing more than one as an alternative locking gate was supplied without any notification gate was an alternative. I purchased a new gate but price had increased over night and as I purchased new gate before returning I had to pay the more expensive price

This gate is really good, I always look for a gate that is pressure fit as I don't like drilling into the doorframes. It's good that you can put a catch down so that it doesn't open both ways if you want to.We had to order a gate as out baby started crawling at the start of lock down and we were able to get delivery really quickly. Can I just say thank you to the argos staff who are picking packing and delivering things during these strange times.

We bought this as our 7 month old is crawling, we was drawn in by the self close as we have 2 other children who will easily forget to close the gate! It was easy to put up but soon learned if it's not correctly fitted as in all need to be tightened to the correct length the self close doesn't work! It took a few attempts to get them correct and still some times it doesn't catch the latch so you have to fiddle a little so it catches to close.

the closing catch is a huge improvement on the previous model from Safety 1st; I only had that gate for less than 24+ months before the plastic catch inside workings broke so making the gate useless. I contacted Safety 1st for a replacement part but was told that none was available. Very please with the new gate especially as it is now self closing. They have obviously learnt their lesson and updated the design of the catch.

This stair gate is perfect. It has the advantage of being self closing. It's easy to open for an adult not for a child. If you are walking upstairs with your hands full you don't have to try and shut the gate behind you.The gate itself is sturdy and quick and easy to fit.I was surprised how reasonable this was priced considering the benefits of the auto close.I would recommend this to any parent or dog owner.

This is a fantastic gate- we use it on the top of the stairs and it was pretty easy to fit by myself. There was a bit of fiddling but once you know how it all works it’s great. Gate swings in both directions and automatically closes fantastic when carrying kids as you don’t have to close it after you. Brilliant value too- we originally bought a much more expensive one which didn’t function half as well.

I had no problems with this safety gate. It was quite simple to fit. It feels study for now as my baby is only 9 months. I like the feature that indicates wether the gate is locked or not, also the fact it closes behind you. Only criticism is that the gate would be better if there was an option to keep it open as sometimes you want to go in and out without it slamming shut all the time.

When I ordered this gate I didnt read the description, just needed a quick replacement. Once it got here seeing it auto closes was a great bonus , super easy to put up , simple instructions. I'm wanting to replace the others in my house with this one. Well made . Highly recommend. Carrying a basket of clothes and I dont need to worry if the gates shut after me it does it itself :)

We are very satisfied with the purchase of this pressure fit safety gate. It is extremely easy to assemble, with options of using screws or sticky tabs. The mechanism is a magnet which makes for easy closing once you have walked through. My 20 month daughter is now kept safe thanks to the effectiveness of the gate, we have since purchased 2 more for other doors around our home.

Just purchasd a pair of these gates - for top & bottom of stairs. I assumed they would be fiddly to fit! but they fell into place nicely. They fit both different sized access areas - and meant we had gates that matched. I particularly liked the way they auto closed and auto-locked, it just made for a saver environment. I would heartily recommend these gates to all.

Bought this to stop my puppy dogs getting out. Very easy to set up, very simple to use, looks well built and likely to last. The best thing is that because it has a pressure fitting, it’s totally portable. It also means there are no holes in the wall or door frame that will have to be filled when the gate is no longer needed.
