Russell Hobbs makes a wide range of toasters at similar prices – so how to choose? With an appliance like this it is the small details that count. We got this toaster to replace an existing but cheaper Russell Hobbs that was annoying because it lacked any “lift” feature – this is where you can push the levers UP to make it easier to remove smaller items such as crumpets and buns. I got quite adept at extracting them with a knife – after unplugging the power of course – but it was far from ideal.This one doesn’t have much lift either (there is a tiny bit) but fortunately it does not matter, because the toast pops up high and even smaller items are easy to remove. The slots are also nice and wide,

This toaster is an absolute cracker. Part of the reason why I am also writing this review is to show that this toaster can fit any slice of bread especially warburtons.When I got this toaster, I was extremely happy. This toaster is extremely reflective, light weight and looks posh :). The levers are very smooth and so is the knobs and buttons in the front. The toasting slot are way bigger than a normal toaster (see pic attached). I have tried this with warburtons bread which is what we used all the time and it toasted perfectly.Now what I discovered was that you can actually turn the bread on it's side and then put it in the toaster and it will fit perfectly (see pic below).

We bought it in February (just over 9 months ago). It generally works fine, easy enough to clean considering it's a toaster.Unfortunately one side of the double slots' magnetic "clip" (or whatever you want to call it) no longer works and therefore we're now left with only to working slots rather than four. We followed a variety of online suggestions on how to fix the apparently well known fault, but couldn't fix it. Not sure how to proceed now, as we don't have the box anymore (but we do have the receipt for proof of date/purchase)

It seemed large to start with but I've got used to it, just had to rearrange the worktop slightly. I use it every day and have done so for about a month. Toaster works well so far and it's good to have the setting for frozen bread. Sometimes I have to re-insert bread the other way round to finish off when having used the frozen bread setting but this depends on the bread and is no different to other toasters I've had. Colour cream is nice. Delivery was good and item well packed. No complaints on price and value for money (so far).

Haven't used it yet as it is for new house when we move, but it looks superb. If it works as well as it looks then I will be very happy.BUT, there is one really annoying part of this toaster that I really am p##d off with.Why oh why do some manufacturers insist on using really sticky labels that are impossible to remove without using chemicals?Easy peel labels are so good these days and not expensive, considering the possible damage and frustration caused by the labels used, it has cost Russell Hobbs a star in this instance.

Overall I am pleased with the toaster. I find it stylish and it appears to be robust however I expected the finish to be brushed steel and not shiny steel. The toaster is very fast indeed but unfortunately doesn't toast normal sliced bread all the way to the edge. Like a lot of toasters if you want the cooking even then you have to eject and turn the slice if it is conventional sliced bread sized. It have very large slots and will cook doorstep thickness sliced bread. It has a frozen bread, warming and eject buttons.

Really nice looking toaster, it toasts really quick, the only thing I would say is that it doesn’t toast as evenly as it says it does, I still had to turn the bread round so it toasted the other side a bit more, be prepared to catch the toast, when ready it literally caterpults out lol, I do love that though, it’s great that it doesn’t stay inside the toaster once it’s finished, over all I would say it’s a great toaster that’s great value for the money paid.

This toaster has a very solid build quality which is built to last. I love the two separate toast controllers allowing you to toast either two or four slices of toast plus with the wide slots you can easily fit a man sized slice in it. Used to have a Russell hobb and it lasted ages. We then decided to spend more on and then cheaper and we have managed to go through 3 brands in the last 2 years, all failing. Bought this and so far am pleasantly surprised. What I like are the wide slots. The risers goes all the way to the top...why all toaster can not do that I do not know. Simple buttons, simple solid mechanisms, good toasting to boot. I love it.

Excellent Toaster, I have tried lots and so far this is the best, it actually gets the toast well done quite evenly, it could do with being slightly taller for the long slices and have slightly bigger crumb trays but that is just me being picky, oh watch out it does shoot the toast quite high when it finishes and you have to catch it or collect it from behind the toaster so crumbs everywhere if not quick enough

Looks great , doesnt take up as much room as my old 4 slice toaster which is a bonus. Makes toast how I like it, fits thick bread or crumpets easily and you dont need to turn the bread as the whole slice fits in. I did a bit of research before I bought this and cannot believe Russell Hobbs was the only make that gives a 3 year warrenty ....puts the more expensive makes who only offer one year to shame!

So far this is by far the best 4 slice toaster that I have had. Perhaps it could have been made to hold slightly longer bread, but here in Portugal all bread is long!!! The sides get hot, but it is super fast and easy to clean.All 4 slots toast evenly and you do not have to turn the heat settings to maximum, I use no 4 and it is fine.All in all very good.

I bought this toaster last April 2018. Unfortunately one section of the toaster is not working at all. I am very disappointed and would like to return this item.I would like to return this item and I would be grateful if you can let me know if a refund or another appliance will be given. Best toaster I have used in a while. The perfect toast is of course very subjective, but I find that it toasts bread just to my liking and the settings are nicely incremental, so you don't go from lightly toasted to burnt.Amazingly the reheat function actually works - though I am not sure how it does it. All in all a very good toaster for the money!

Very good toaster with for slots for bread. Also bought matching kettle. Both very very good value at the time, when compared elsewhere . Slight issue is that with the toaster one of the slots shoots out the toast when ready and often ends up on the side. That said would still give it 5 stars as I liked the fact there are separate heat controls.
