My black & tan Cavalier KC puppy grew to be quite a large dog for the breed. At 18 months he weighed 14.8 kg. Suddenly he began to limp on our walks, sometimes favouring his front left, sometimes his front right leg. A visit to the Vet resulted in (first) a treatment with of anti-inflammatory tablets (useless) quickly followed by a standard X-ray of both forelegs. The images showed no signs of damage in either leg. Following discussions with his regular Vet, I was persuaded to let a Surgeon Vet examine him and a CT scan was suggested, with my agreement for surgery to be performed if necessary. Hairline fractures were expected, which can be fixed by screws into the affected bone.

Trinny, our black Labrador, has lost 2.1 kg in her first month of being on this product which has been mixed with her old food. Her vet was very pleased with her weight loss and encouraged us to keep up the good work. We have stuck to the guidelines on the back (she needs to lose over 30% of her body weight) and rarely given her fish treats. ( Now they really are treats!!!!) Trinny has more energy and it has been noticed on the park that she is feistier. It is expensive but well worth it if she continues to lose the excess weight as we do not want her getting diabetes. We bought of the Internet as we could not get this product in any of the shops even as a special order.

Our "rescue" 6 year-old short legged, black, furry, pot-bellied Hippopotomus (Lab) has always been a huge, bloated tub of lard since we took her in, some three years ago. Over the last two years, we had tried most high-end "Light" foods to try and get her weight down to more dog-like proportions despite keeping her to a strict regime of weighed meals as per recommended feeding guides. All without success unfortunately - Until now.Upon our vet's advice, we placed her on the Royal Canin Obesity Veterinary Diet - and I'm pleased to say that her girth is reducing steadily now - at about the rate of half-kilo per week. (Which is a steady weight decline that doesn't cause her any stress).

Our 6 year old Cairn has always been a food monster. She literally hovers up anything and everything resulting in her being about 2lb over weight. I'd tried the light versions of her food which made no difference so decided to try this based on other reviews.Having been feeding her on this since August she has shed the extra weight. Her cost is lovely, shiny and very soft. She gobbles this up and there's never any left in the bowl so she must enjoy it.Amazon is by far the cheapest place to get this particular food from. Yes it's expensive but well worth it.Would highly recommend if you have a dog that needs to loose a few pounds.

We rescued our Lab when he was weighing in at 50kgs!!!! Unable to run, jump in the car, etc. We fed him this food under advise from the vet. Within a year he had lost 20kgs, and had learnt how to run and jump. We then put him on "normal food", feeding him the recommended amount for his size. Before we had even finished the bag, he had gained a couple of kilos.This food is brilliant, it is the only food that he doesn't gain weight on, he has energy, his coat is shiny and it doesn't leave him hungry.

My dog, Wizzer, was obese. Simple. Obese! His idea weight is 7KG and he was over 9KG.His annual trip to the vet for a check up resulting in me getting told off for over feeding and the vet recommending this food. Now, the vet wants £90 a bag which is obscene.As for price, this is the lowest I can find.As for the quality of the food, Wiizzer loves it. It really does help dogs lose weight. Wizzer is now a healthy 7.3KG after just 3 months use. I am really pleased with this food.

Bought for our 13 year old terrier who was obese due to medication..the vet was really concerned and Rollie was constantly hungry as we had cut down his usual dog food...Arrived on 9th June..went to the vet today...Rollie has gone from 10.2 kgs to 9.3 kgs in a month!!!! The amount that can be given of this food is greater than normal food therefore Rollie is far more satisfied yet is still losing weight x Highly recommend x

Good product. It certainly works well for my Scottie. Just returned from Vet for a weigh in and in just 6 weeks he has lost 2.2kg . He took to the food straight away with no problems. The portions recommended seem to fill him up as he is not looking for any food after his meal. Just stick to the recommended portions and in conjunction with exercise you will see a difference in a fairly short time.Highly Recommended

I was told by my vet to put my over large Labrador on this diet food. She gobbles it up, though she would gobble anything up. She is slowly losing weight, so the product does work. I haven't found that is excessively hungry between her meals.The vets wanted me to buy the food from them, horrendous amount of money, then I found this on Amazon which was over £30.00 cheaper for a 14Kilo bag.I will be buying again

We’ve brought this before for our chocolate lab as she needs to lose weight, it does curb her appetite and she doesn’t whine for food anymore.Combined with normal exercise she’s shedding! Everyone loves this food, our gsd pup and the cats even though they shouldn’t eat it. Guess it must be tasty!

purchased through amazon, price jumped after the 2nd bag by a tenner but still good price.. 1 bag does 2 overweight neutured jack russells 7 week of food on 2 meals a day and they are dropping weight slowly which is helping their tone and not sagging their underbelly. Recommend

Great dietry food. My dog loves it (mind, he's a French Bulldog so he'll eat almost anything - that's why he's on this!!! Joking apart; It is good stuff.The first bag got burst in transit but amazon were really quick with their response in replacing it. Well done to them.

It is a bit pricey . I have an overweight black lab . He needed to lose 10 kg as he was suffering a lot. So far he lost 8 kg in 70 days. Good thing is , he can still have all nutrients he needs and not begging for food. I will continue to use this dog food. Very healthy.

Excellent product.my dog was vastly over weight so I needed something good for him to get his weight down and this product has done just that he's lost over 6kg in six months his coat feels better doesn't shed so much and he's looking a lot healthier.

Great delivery and so, so much cheaper than the inflated price I was having to pay from the vet. My dog likes this food so much that we reserve some of the ration for use as treats. She actually prefers it to some of the usual dog treats.
