Just started playing Bass and I replaced the dull ones I got with mine for these - what a leap in tone! Very bright tho so if you want something more mellow might not be for you, but I’m sure they chill with a little age. They slap and pop amazingly even if I don’t!I play guitar and after getting these I gave Rotosound Pinks (9’s) a go on my 6 String... they are also amazing strings! The wounds are really silky and finger sliding is so good on them, so impressed I’m switching to Rotos! Going to give the acoustic sets a go too, Rotosound make great strings at fantastic prices - give them a go!

These are classic, top quality bass strings which have been used by players of all abilities for many years. This particular set came in slightly less packaging - which I guess is good for the environment - even if Rotosound use a foil lined plastic wrapper to ensure freshness. Each string has red fabric wrapped around it at the headstock end (see picture) and a coloured ball-end (E red / A blue / D white / G red). They fit a 34 inch long scale bass such as the Ibanez Artcore perfectly.

I first started using Rotosound strings in the ‘60s, and over the intervening years I’ve used many alternatives all of which seemed okay at the time. Then about 10 years ago I bought a Fretless Fender Jazz Bass and really struggled to get ‘the sound’, so I decided to go back to Rotosound and there it was the sustain, ‘the sound’, fantastic! At about half the price of other major brands they are a steal (or should that be stainless steel).

Well I have tried nearly every set of strings in the last 25 years of playing and these are some seriously punchy steel. I'm no scientist about exactly what materials these string are made from but they are different and the most stable of all sets. Also never had an issue with steel string wearing any frets, so not sure why there is huge topics floating around the Web about that issue. Definitely good for just about any style of music.

I read somewhere these are somewhat industry standard and I can believe that statement.Strings sound really nice on my Jazz bass. Perfect mix of the jazz growl and smooth tones. The strings feel nice and play very quick compared to my past roundwounds and one set of flatwounds I used.I could go on for longer, but at the end of the day they make the bass more enjoyable to play and listen too. Won’t be disappointed.

Bright sound, plenty of depth. Scale length is accurate.A shame that they are no loger produced in a paper sleeve in a cardboard packet, but have gone over to a plastic sleeve.Been a Bass player for 27 years, have tried other brands but always come back to Rotosound - the same same string gauges for 27 years!!

I left my previous set of Rotosounds on my fretless Precision for YEARS - I hang my head in shame - and these new ones sound bright and sproingy through my Fender Rumble 100. Yes, sproingy. I ought to have got them a long time ago - especially for only eighteen quid.

these strings are incredible value. to buy these in a music shop could cost you over £30 a set, just because they come in a box.i am a very busy musician and these save me a fortune oin the different basses i use.

Wow! Went to these strings from an old tired set which I don't know the brand of.All I can say is that with these my bass sounds more powerful! Just great for a thumping sound.

I’ve used these for 20 years or so having switched from elites. Occasionally I’ll try another make but I always come back to these. Just seem to be the best around.

Love the Rotosound 45-105 Swing Bass strings, will never put anything else on my basses. Can last months and months which is handy for a student on a tight budget.

Perfect bass strings for most genres and better than d'addario in my opinion, d'addarios cost much more and lose their tone too quickly in my opinion

Used by rock legends, and me...New strings for my bass before my first gig. They didn’t let me down. Sounded good, felt good under the fingers.

When you've got a Geddy only these strings will do to bring out that Geddy sound via a Sansamp. They last a lot longer than other brands.

Started using these Rotosound strings back in the late 60's... have tried alternatives, but also come back to these.... classic sound ?
