This is exactly what I wanted! Bought it for my sons 3rd birthday and spent a long time searching through deciding which one to get. This ticks all the boxes and he loves it. I thought it looked a little small in the pics and was worried as he's pretty big for his age but when he sits on it he can touch the floor just right but can't quite push off to move it around on its wheels yet. It feels really sturdy once it's built and looks good too. It does come in lots of pieces so you have to make it which is a shame but I can't comment on how easy/difficult it is to build as I got someone else to do it! The digger itself is simple to use for my 3 year old as he picked it up pretty quickly. The digger swivels 360 degrees, moves across the floor on wheels, has 2 movable arms and locks into place when the arms are up which equally is easy for the child to unlock for use. I love this digger as much as my son. I wanted something manual that moved around as I didn't want to be replacing batteries constantly and for my son to be just sat pressing a button, this digger is great and if, like me, you're struggling with all the different types of diggers out there, I'd highly recommend this one which is well worth the money.

I'm impressed with this. I underestimated the hand-eye co-ordination that a three year old would need. He kept trying it on and off, then suddenly one day it just clicked for him, and he was excavating everywhere, much to the chagrin of the Head Gardner. So I'm pleased with the motor skill development angle. Now he is being inventive with it and putting stresses on it that it was probably not designed for, but apart from routine bolt tightening it is standing the test.7 April 2014: Digger is surviving, in fact practically unmarked. Still a favourite toy.

The sealed box arrived with one wheel missing so rather disappointing. I then had to return the complete extremely large box to Amazon even though just the one item was missing. Quite hard to put together but well worth the time, effort and money. Just one warning - the catch for the digger arm broke after a few months which was surprising for such a sturdy toy. Rolly kindly forwarded a replacement free of charge just this one time but warned it is usually caused by children trying to lower the digger arm without slipping this catch. Surprise!

First order was damaged but had a replacement within two days. My little boy is 3 and short for his age so can’t quite reach the floor (so have to make sure he doesn’t tip it when he leans forward) so will last a while hopefully. He is over the moon to have a real ride on digger (it was a reward for smashing potty training)!! He’s already worked out the controls and is planning on taking it to the beach :)

This was ideal for my grandson's second birthday, as he is obsessed with all earth-moving equipment. The child would probably have to be around three, though, to be tall enough to push him- or herself along.Delivery was prompt, but buyers ought to know: you have to assemble the digger yourself. This needs a bit of DIY skill - it took me about an hour. The pictorial instructions are very clear, though.

We bought this for our 3 year old boy and he loves it!The digger was straightforward enough to assemble but you might have to double check the pictorial instructions a few times to make sure you do not add parts back to front. It is actually made in Germany and is of good quality, sturdy and easy for my wee boy to operate without any problems.

I thought this would be perfect for my 4 yr old grandson and it is, but my 2 yr old granddaughter loves it even more and manipulates it with great dexterity! Great addition to sand play. A wheelbarrow is a great extra to make play practical. Sturdy, quite easy to build and copes with the demands of young children. Great buy!

got this for my 2 year old at Xmas. He was delighted, all he'd asked for was a 'big yellow digger'.He plays with it everyday still 8 months later. We use it indoors, in the garden and even at the beach.Easy To assemble apart from the hubcaps but we don't really need them. Worth every penny.

Bought this for our Grandson who is three he loves it, we had fun assembling it so easy, looked in some toy shops before buying this one, saw nothing as good all to small and flimsy, this one is a nice size stable and strong does everything you expect, should get many years of fun.

We bought this for our 2 year old grandson.who loves diggers. Although it took a good 2 and a half hours to put together it was worth it. He loved it. I also bought a cheap yellow hat to complete the 'look' which he also loves. An excellent buy it is good quality and good fun!

Grandson loved this digger for his 4th birthday. He's a big lad so I would say it is suitable for ages 3 to 6. Glad I assembled it before his birthday so he could use it immediately (as assembly took a bit of time). He's been digging in sand and it seems very robust so far.

This is for 3 year old. He will be delighted but took hubby a long time to put together. He said was a nightmare to build but once up looks brilliant. Don't think it would do an older child as its small. Slightly hard to work bucket mechanisms but grandson will love it.

It took a while to build, but one just need to be patient. My 3.5 years old son is a little bit too small to reach the ground and play on his own. But we are looking to the summer and I'm sure he will injoy playing with his digger in the sandpit.
