These are wonderful. I bought two of these, one for my (almost) 4 year old girl, and one for my 9 year boy who has Downs Syndrome, and they both love them.I bought them at the same time as some of the Crayola dry wipe felt tips.My children are constantly drawing and colouring, and I have many walls covered in pieces of paper with 'masterpieces'. And honestly, I could not tell you what most of the pictures are.Problem is, the look terrible. The paper starts looking ratty pretty quickly. But there's also limited things you can do with them, other than cover up the wallpaper you picked out specifically. With the Rocketbook, I have a beautiful picture of a dinosaur set as my screensaver. It's also great to be able to send their pictures to family. And the ability to keep the pictures without them getting ruined it priceless. There's also the fact that it's so simple to take photos of the pictures. It only takes a second and it's saved in your phones memory. There are a couple of downsides, but nothing that would prevent me from buying them again.Firstly, the price isn't wonderful. It is a bit daunting to pay £20 for, essentially, white paper. But after having them for one day, with children that would gladly spend all day with pens in their hands, they'd already been well worth the money. Then there's the issue of how well the Crayola pens work with the book. It's not the best. We got the books the day before the pens, so I let my children used my own Staedtler dry wipe pens until the Crayola ones came the next day.The Staedtler pens worked like a dream. Wiped off with the cloth super easily, and left nothing but a clean white page. The Crayola pens, not so much. The blue and black ones especially, streak like a @#$%$#@%$@%$#$!%$*@$ (<insert appropriate swear word here). But luckily we have cats. And cats that constantly scratch our beautiful leather sofa. So we also have a £1 sprayer filled with water to shoo them off said sofa.Literally, with one spray of water, the pens wipe of beautifully. No it's not ideal to have to use water to get off "dry wipe" pen marks, but it's not a deal breaker, and I would much rather my kids use child friendly pens for the long run, than risk using regular dry wipe pens that are filled with God knows what chemicals (probably the specific chemicals that make them so dry wipe-y). It's probably more of an issue with the pens, which is Crayola's fault, but given that these books are made to be used with, specifically, Crayola products, it's a bit of an oversight.Lastly, a minor issue. Be careful where you take the photos of the pictures. As any shade or low light can have effects on the look of the scanned picture. So make sure you take the photo in a place where the light is direct, steady and bright.

I've had a Rocketbook Everlast for a number of months - I use it regularly at work and absolutely love it (can't imagine going back to paper again!).When I heard about the upcoming release of the Colour version, aimed at kids and compatible with a range of Crayola products, I thought it would be a great idea for my two sons. I backed the kickstarter straight away and they arrived promptly in time for Christmas. The books are the same great quality that I have come to expect from Rocketbook - they seem built to last, which was important to me when thinking about two young boys throwing them into their bags, squabbling over them and all other associated boisterousness.I ordered the books with a single pack of 6 Crayola dry erase pens to start off with.So far so good with the books - the kids love drawing and so took to them well. They were confused by the concept at first but as soon as I showed them the scanning process and then their drawings on Daddy's phone - they were hooked! I love that all of their creations and doodles are now safe forever. The scanning and app are as good as they are for me on my Everlast book so no concerns there. The only gripe I can put forward is that the Crayola 'dry erase' range seem reasonably hard to come by - never seen any in shops as I would have ecxpected but they can be found online (including Amazon) so it's not so bad. I'll have to investigate if other brands/types of pens can be used too (as with my everlast book).Anyway - fantastic book with many uses - works amazingly as a neverending scrapbook of my son's artwork and allows us to send their drawings over to Nana in an instant! They love it!

-- DISCLAIMER I bought this for a different usage than it was designed for, so my review is NOT about using this item for kids drawing --I bought this as a "more robust" version of the Rocketbook Everlast (I wanted to use it in an environment exposed to dust, water etc.), hopping it would work in a similar way with the Pilot Frixion pens. Spoiler alert: IT DOES NOT! Pilot Frixion can't work on the very glossy surface of the Rocketbook color, the only thing they do is to scratch the said surface and leave a dent. That being said, I quickly switched to 0.7 mm marker pen (the very standard cheap ones) and that worked like a treat! I've been using this system on a daily basis for the past 6 months to take notes at work and this never failed me.You just need a bit more "aggressive" cleaning (the clothe won't do, I have to use alcohol to clean the surface). As it is designed to be used by kids, you can use this in tough environment without any risk of damaging it ... It's pretty much indestructible.

Brilliant product. The children seem to be really enjoying it. They love the ability to send their drawings to family members who don’t live nearby. We are hoping to buy a second as they’re great for in the car on long journeys. They are choosing to use this rather than traditional paper which is great as it saves so much waste! My eldest (6) loves the lined pages as she loves to practise her writing and spelling.

Brilliant!Does exactly what it says it can do.I have a regular Rocket Book and was so impressed with it that I bought this one as well.Loads of fun uploading images and designs and then just wiping clean.

My kids live their new rocketbook colour. Great for storing their artwork in the cloud and sharing with family. Also means the house isn't filled up with millions of actual pictures.

Great idea. Saves vast amounts of paper! I am a private tutor and it is a portable white board. I can save work when I want to.
