When I close my eyes and inhale, the vision evoked by this scent is a sophisticated one of metropolitan chic and after hours glamour. This is not a lightweight flighty number, to be worn by a gauche teen pop fan - Mademoiselle Couture feels sensual, assured, and fully grown-up. If it were a film character it could easily be a Parisian femme fatale, with all the allure and mystery that entails.A mix of woody, musky base notes, the eau de parfum is balanced by a predominantly lily-of-the-valley mid note with a hint of orange, and top notes of bergamot and pear. It's an unusual but very satisfying mix, and the thing that gives it a definite twist for me is the inclusion of tonka bean.

This is a review of Rochas Mademoiselle Couture Eau de Parfum 50mlI gave this to a friend so this is her review."Initial impressions were very good. The box is immediately attractive - the decorative glass bottle in plum and silver, with black bow is both youthful and sophisticated.This is marketed as a floral woody fragrance and it certainly smells very floral on application.Apparently the top notes are bergamot pear and pink pepper, although I really couldn't detect these.The middle notes are orange blossom, lily of the valley and heliotrope.The base notes are sandalwood, Tonka bean and musk.I certainly smelt orange and lily of the valley and after a while on the skin it smelt of vanilla and

I love trying new perfumes, although my tastes tend to split into two categories - exotic for evening (St Laurent's Black Opium, Guerlain's Shalimar) or light, fresh and flowery for daytime. (Coty's L'Aimant, Cacharel's Anais Anais).This is something else. It smells delicious on my skin but I really couldn't place the scent, and it would be wearable anywhere, any time - daytime for work or when out for the evening. It's romantic, sophisticated, slightly spicy but not overpowering, with a kind of weirdly floral dimension which is really lovely. Looking at the ingredients I see not only standard perfume notes like bergamot, musk and sandalwood, orange blossom and heliotrope, but unusual ones like pink pepper,

Mrs C usually likes flowery perfume and enjoys trying something new every time her bottle runs out. Whether you like a scent or dislike it is very personal. Personally, I hate her to wear heavy perfume as it makes me feel sick and I just cannot stand the smell. This product is not heavy enough to make me feel sick and citrus enough for Mrs C to like it. To describe the smell is quite difficult but the best I can say is that it has a citrus/musk smell. It isn't overpowering, but it is quite strong and long-lasting. So long as my wife uses a small amount I like the smell on her. This is not of the same quality as a Channel product she adores, but it is still very nice.

Not overpowering. Laugh at the exotic marketing speak about the parfum and packaging. I can't distinguish between the scents but find a general overall floral tone. My wife did a wrist spray and we kept coming back to that throughout the day and it lasted a reasonable amount of time. She also did the "mist walkthrough" where you create a cloud and walkthrough and back to attach the scent lightly to garments (this is a classic technique). This creates a nice aura around the person. She will use as a daytime parfum but return to her favourite (much more expensive) for occasions.

All too often, modern perfumes are a disappointment, with their crude chemical odours and short persistence on the skin. What a delightful change to find this Rochas perfume which has the qualities of traditional French products -- a subtlety of aroma that develops on the skin; a lasting fragrance which is floral but sophisticated. This is a perfume for a confident, mature woman.I won't be giving up my old French favourites, but this one has earned a place beside them.

This perfume deserves four stars because it is not to everyone's taste. I find it has a pleasant flowery and fruity scent with a definite peppery undertone. I do like it but I wouldn't wear it all the time.On the other hand, my daughter really likes it and would wear it daily. I find that It is probably a perfume more for the taste of the younger lady and not a grandma perfume. Needless to say, she will be its owner.The bottle is delightful.

The bottle of Rochas Mademoiselle Couture looks attractive. For some reason I have a little trouble getting the top on and off the bottle, but that's a relatively minor point.The scent itself is pleasant - a sweet but not sickly smell that lasts all day - and to me has quite a distinct smell of talcum powder. I'm not sure that it'll become one of my favourites but it's nice enough to wear for every day use.

Wondered what this perfume would be like; it's hard to tell without actually trying before you buy. Needn't have worried - it's a gorgeous floral/woody scent that warms nicely as you wear it. Coming from the Rochas company I suppose I needn't have worried - but I would thoroughly recommend this as a scent to wear for evenings.

Gave this to the wife to try. The scent smelt very nice and was not overpowering. There are initial hints of citrus and then a lasting smell of musk. As this is a perfume you don't need to use a lot and it lasted for a whole evening. Really worth the money if you know it will suit the recipients chemistry.

I got this for my wife. It's a pleasant scent with (to me) the strongest hints being of musk and vanilla (?) and some citrus, and it smells light and fresh. It's a noticeable and marked difference from her usual Armani Diamonds, if that helps you, the reader of this review, in any way.I like it.

Nice musky scent but not too overpowering or dark as the fruit lightens it quite a bit. Nice night time one on me as it's a bit too much for days but it lasts all night and I had several nice comments on it without having to top it up. Pretty bottle too and it looks lovely on my dresser.

This is lovely, and I have received so many nice comments when wearing it. Definitely one for the evening as it has a strong scent, quite musky/spicy. Presentation looks a bit cheap and lets this down I think which is a shame as this is a lovely perfume.

I've been after an old classic by Rochas for years and then I spotted this which had brilliant reviews so I took a chance and ordered it without trying . I am so happy I did, it's now my favourite perfume.

Strong flowery scent. Holds true to the smell from bottle all day on me and lasted from morning to evening. Gone overnight. Bottle is a pink colour, decorated with a black gross grain ribbon.
