I have been using faradics (muscle electrical toning devices) for many years in the abdominal area, with great results, so I didn't really need convincing that this would be effective for the facial muscles, but the results surpassed ALL my expectations. The benefits, simply amazing. If I could give this a TEN I would.Im 41, female. I purchased this because I had developed noticeable nasolabial lines (imagine an upside-down V shape from nose edges to mouth edges)look. But looked great with a towel turban on my head LOLI was recommended to have an injectable facelift, but was concerned firstly of the £££ secondly, the complications of substance migration (especially with Radiesse)and thirdly ending up with a fake look. (check Hollywood)So "bring on the Rio"Its an interesting looking device, the spheres look huge, at first, but aid to great gliding comfort on the face and neck.I didn't use the Rio gel, as it looked like cheap pound store hair gel, so I felt skin safer using a clear personal lubricant from the chemist 'KY' (snigger) - works great, and a cheaper to replace.So I have used the device for 2 months. Every single day (usually evening) I use on the cheeks at the nasolabial points left and right, and on the jaw and chin each 'therapy' was on setting 1, at medium-high, or significant contraction, until the cycle finished - I know they say 60 seconds at each point, but I left holding at each point for at least 3 minutes, or until cycle finishedSo here I am at 2 months on. My face has now got the towel turban effect, without the towel. My nasolabial folds, virtually gone, my jaw, significantly toned, my chin, tight. I did not used the device around the eyes or forehead, for 2 reasons(1) I found even the lowest setting uncomfortable(2) I have botox, and it is virtually impossible to get a contraction from these treated areasI used tap toning (setting 2) on a few occasions, but the setting 1 is the real workhorse on this device. I would imagine the tap toning could have a complexion benefit as it stimulates blood flow.I used the iontophoresis (setting 3) twice, with provided collagen pads, and noticed no benefit. So those fine old eyelines of mine have a great result with Rio Scar cover make-up for dark circles which doesn't crease (see my other review) and SPF50 cream every day on my face, even if cloudy outside in UKTo sum up. It works. However, like exercise (ok cue everyone do the finger in ear la-la-la) it takes dedication, but to encourage you, remember this - the results will wipe years off your age in the face dept Give it 2 months, every day. The low ratings for this machine are most probably from clients who have not given it the time/dedication it requires.And a final note heres the science bit:Your facial muscles are the few muscles in the body that are attached to the skin, so when the facial muscles sag, hey! the skin follows Wheeyy heeyy lets all get on this roller coaster! SO NO topical firming lifting cream can aid sagging if the muscle is not being tightened. (it would be like painting a house with sinking foundations) LOLThe reason why your face goes hollow and saggy as you age, (apart from many other factors) the main reason is that as you get older your facial skeleton shrinks awww sorry but thats natural ageing for you!!I did not try the cheaper sister machine so I cannot comment to suggest get that to save moneyhope this helps - love to all you gorgeous beauties!! xx****UPDATE JANUARY 2013****I no longer require botox (I stopped this over a year ago) So I was able to workout my temporalis muscle (forehead) botox makes this muscle lazy, which actually ages you (frowny eye look) Since working out, my eyelids have liftedThe rest is maintaining its 'tightness' with sessions (twice a week) I do know that this device has absolutely kept the plumpness (volume) that I would have lost via natural aging via the tone of my cheeks (Im approaching 43)So, this device has saved me from the expense (and pain) of botox & fillers.

I got this because I was intending to lose some weight & being of a certain age didn't want to end up looking even more haggard.I have used it perhaps 4/7 days per week for 6 weeks so far.The 'toner' needed to make the electrical contact contains salicylic acid which is used in acne preps for clearing pores but it was too irritant for me so I followed another reviewers advice & just use a water sol personal lubricant.I haven't had a problem of nerve/ teeth irritatation - it is worth checking out the position of the infra orbital nerve which comes out under the cheekbone just below the middle of the eye socket & being a bit careful in this area.If uncomfortable one just turns the level down slightly & move the probes.It turns on like my electric toothbrush ie 1 press for setting 1, 2 presses for setting 2 etc. 1 firm press to turn it off.It does occassionally randomly turn itself off - I think when skin conduction is slightly broken ie not enough lube. - it isn't a problem - just turn it back on again.I also stretch the relevant skin nearby against the action of the muscle contraction so that I don't end up with heaps of creases related to the excess muscle movements.So does it work?Well I am in my 50s so it was going to have its work cut out. I have also lost 6 kgs in weight at the same time.I wish I had done a before photo as it is hard to tell change on a day to day basis and I also found my self looking at my face to see if change & only noticing more intently the bits i dont like about my aging face which I had not noticed before (a downside of this sort of thing!)At 1st I wasn't sure if it was working. But then I started doing it for longer on 2 areas as I had previously thought that one cheek of my face was more saggy than the other & 1 brow more droopy. With a shock after 2-3 days i suddenly realised that the initially saggier side was now my better side! I also realised that how far I could raise my eyebrows had become reversally asymmetric. This has now corrected itself by careful targeting& I now do the toning evenly.I now feel that my lips are fuller & cheeks firmer & the pouches on my cheekbones seem less - also poss under my chin. I am now very glad that I got this device, certainly my face hasn't fallen with the weight loss & am hopeful for further improvement.I keep forgetting to try the patches.Ideally I would give this 4 & 1/2 stars as the device seems good & not excessively expensive but the toner is not

I have been using this machine every day since it arrived about a week ago. I can already feel a difference in the muscles in my face. They definitely feel more supportive and my face feels lifted. A friend who is the owner of a beauty salon recommends this product to her clients and she loaned me one for a week. I was desperate to buy one and was delighted to find it on Amazon. Read all the instructions first as there are three programmes and you should alternate each time you use. I didn't realise this at first. Have handy a small cooking timer - saves a lot of palaver. I keep mine in with the machine set always to 1 minute. It is then so easy to keep to the time without having to look at a clock or watch or worse still,beg your "other half" to tell you each time the minute is up. It also makes for a more efficient way of using the machine effortlessly. It does take a bit of time all told. Think about it - cleanse and tone, set out all the things you need - timer, gel, booklet opened to correct pages, mirror - then applications - 15 minutes if you flow from one to the other - then cleanse, tone, and put everything away. I was rushing to catch a bus the other day and was determined to do stick to using my machine before going out for the day. I nearly missed the bus. My point is, use it every day. Make it a regular feature of your beauty regime and I'm sure you will reap benefits. I am delighted with it. The jar of gel which comes with the product is great because you can simply dip both terminals into it at the same time. I must also compliment Amazon on their service - delivery was very speedy. One additional point, don't bother buying the neck toner machine - I did and I realise thatI didn't need to as this machine does both neck and face. Once you've got the hang of using it you can watch television at the same time.30th September 2012 - I have continued to faithfully use it every morning when I get up and even took it on holiday with me. My father was at first amused watching me use it but he became a convert when he noticed how my face was lifted as I used it. I'm well chuffed!

I really like this product. It is one of my best beauty buys ever! I personally use it for strengthening my muscles around my eyes and brow. I'm only in my 30s and people tend to think I'm in my late 20s, so fine line wise I'm doing ok! However, I have more puppy eyes than cat eyes, which is fine but they show tiredness more. My brow area shows it too. Using this both as instructed and also in my own way (if the position causes lift in the right direction I use it) I have achieved a definite lift to my brow and eye area! For anyone considering a Botox brow lift I would consider trying this first as long as you actually commit to using it. Botox will only last you a couple of months and thus is expensive and has risks.This strengthens instead of weakens your muscles. The weakening Botox causes can reduce the fullness of the face. This product trains the muscles (like electrified squats for your brow!) to hold themselves in the desired place, but without the frozen look so your face still lights up when you smile :) I used this more intensively initially and now use it a few times a week or especially if I think I look tired. I only use it on my eye/ brow area currently so can only comment on its effectiveness here. If you want a natural brow lift and a refreshed eye area I highly recommend this product. It can be painful if you use the really high intensity, but otherwise at a moderate intensity you could just use it for longer. You just treat it like any exercise and do it regularly to maintain the muscle tone. I'm very pleased as now I like my brow/ eye area when I look in the mirror :)

I have been using this now for about 4 months. I use it 5 times a week. I am 48 this year and as I seem to sleep on my left side I noticed that my face on that side had dropped a bit. My eyebrow was a bit lower and the side of my mouth. I do not eat on this side of my mouth either so everything on my left side felt different, less feeling and less tightness. Anyway bought this to try and help and it has made a difference. It has tightened my forehead, my eyebrows are now in line, my cheeks are plump again yipeee, did not realise I had lost my cheeks until they came back, and it has tightened the left side of my face and jaw muscle to match the other side. I put it on a more intense setting for that side though.My lips oh my lips looks great too, they got plumper within the first usage! The side of my mouth has improved, and feels tighter but wish it had made that all disappear so would have given it 5 stars if it had. But I do feel a lot more confident and my face feels nice and tight. I can now hardly move my eyebrows up and down :) I also use the SBC collagen gel, you should look that up too if you have not heard of it, because that improves your skintoo and the price starts from £6 ish. So overall, its a good friend to have, and cheaper than going to the salon, and easy to use, I use mine while watching TV as you get used to where the machine needs to go but used it in front of the mirror for a few weeks until I got used to it first. I would recommend this, obviously the results are not like having a surgical face life, but it does tone your face and it does work.

I am 33 , exercise regularly and look after my skin... No major concerns with my face at this stage but I know how untoned I feel if I haven't trained my body in a while... so why would this not be the case with the face, which has approx 43 muscles...I have used this daily for 2 weeks and I can honestly say I have noticed a difference... it is not major at this point.. but:You can feel it workingYour face feels worked out afterI have noticed my smile lines lesser which would be my one concern esp on the side I sleep..I wanted something proactive to work my face out rather than fixing a problem later on in life..I have no doubt it will not work miracles however I am happy I have purchased something useful..and i haven't even used the retinol patches yet.The instructions explain it well... I do about 90 secs each point and when you are close to your mouth you do feel some tingling in the gum/teeth area but nothing major.. make sure you have the intensity at a decent level ... you will make funny faces that you cannot control! Now that the first 2 weeks are up I will probably use it 3 to 4 times a week.. To do the full workout it takes approx 20 mins... but much less if you are targeting a specific area. I would find it hard to imagine using it once or twice would make any impact just like one exercise session doesn't give immediate results.. Its about perseverance! So stick with it and combine it with a good skin care regime.... I got mine on a lightening deal.

I saw this product tested recently on a television programme (along with other creams etc.). It scored the highest by the three women testing it.I am an exercise / fitness instructor and so I exercise my body every day ... but not my face (unfortunately). So the television review made me think about the principle of facial toning using EMS (Electrical Muscles Stimulation) to repeatedly contract and relax facial muscles and help tone, lift and tighten them. I decided (for what is costs) that it was worth a try.It comes with a DVD that explains exactly how to use it, (where to put the patches etc.) with an excellent demonstration that you can follow step by step.Also a handy bag to keep all the bits and bobs in one place.So think about it...The stimulation will increase local circulation, help to bring more oxygen to the skin cells and remove toxins accumulated in the treated areas, which should eventually tighten sagging areas and wrinkles. What would you pay for that?I am 40 years old, as fit as a 20 year old but starting to see the odd wrinkle and I am convinced there is a little sagging on the jaw line but I am not going to give in. I am going to fight those wrinkles and the jowl, otherwise when I am 50 I will have the face of a 60 year old and the body of a 40 year old... not a good look.Maybe I should return and add to this review in 10 years time, as this 60 second face lift product is really something that only time will tell if it is any good or not.

I bought this little machine after having had a series of CACI treatments at a spa (a gift from friends). Yes, we men can also want to look after ourselves!The therapist told me that small-scale versions of CACI-like treatments existed. Being somewhat sceptical but having enjoyed the treatment I bought the Rio 60 Second Face Lift and I can honestly say that using the machine regularly and studying my face I have seen excellent results in the eye, forehead, neck, jowel and chin areas - I'm a 37-year-old man with no shame in looking after himself.I do a lot of sport and having used muscle stimulators for my abs, arms and legs - I thought - why not!It's so good I use it on my hands and they have been firmed up too.I just love the sensation and feel my circulation and skin tone have really improved.A choice of programmes means that a variety of treatments can be convienently done with no pads which keep falling off or losing their stickiness.Like someone said in a posting here - the only gripe is the wateriness of the gel that comes with the machine - but getting faradic gel on amazon.co.uk is easily done.My tips would be study your face (we're all different) and experiment with the number of reps and positioning of the probes and like me - you just might get a very pleasant surprise - a real result.

I was given this as a birthday present as I previously had regular expensive caci facial treatments. I was sceptical at first but I have to say that after 10 consecutive days of using this gadget I observed a noticeable change to my face. In particular my "marionette" lines, although never really bad anyway had all but disappeared by day 10. My skin appeared plumper and fresher and my eyes less droopy.It is a really simple device to use and it is a matter of individual tolerance levels as to what setting to use. Certain areas of the face are more sensitive than others so it is wise to start off low and increase it as you move from the targetted zones; always remembering to reduce the setting when moving on to a different zone,particularly when doing the upper lip. With continued frequent use you will soon be able to increase the settings as you get used to it. It is definitely worth perserving with if you do have difficulty with over-sensitivity as the end result is very positive indeed. I am very happy to recommend this product and although I will still continue to have the odd Caci, I will be using the Rio 60 every day for the foreseeable future. Just one cautionary word - although it is called 60 second face lift allow 15-20 minutes for a complete regime. Worth every second though!

This a really great product!! I was sceptical at first and was afraid that I was wasting my money, but being 54 and with everything rapidly heading south I thought I've got nothing to lose. I've been using it daily now for just over 2 weeks and I've suddenly noticed a real difference in my face. My cheeks seem a lot fuller and the skin on my neck is definately tighter, my lips have also plumped up quite amazingly and my cheeks seems to have a lovely subtle glow.Granted It does take a little more time than I originally thought (probably about 30- 45 mins) and you do have to persevere if you use on all the muscle groups, but no pain, no gain!Talking of pain it can be a bit uncomfortable in certain areas such as around the mouth especially if you have fillings, but you just need to alter the angle or turn it down slightly to make it more comfortable.At first I was using the two programmes as advised, but now I just use the first one as this is the one that works the facial muscles and gets the job done. I think that the few people who say this product does't work are either not using it as instructed or not persevering. To me this is the next best thing to a face-lift and I can't wait until the end of the 6 weeks to see the final result. I am soooooooooo pleased with this product!!

I'm in my 50's so not expecting miracles. I have been using this product for a few weeks now. I am trying to use it daily for about 6 weeks for an initial boost (but it has worked out about 5 times a week) and I then intend to revert to once or twice a week for maintenance.The positives:I have noticed a difference to my neck, cheek and eye areas. The forehead and mouth not so much.It is easy to use, comes in a handy little storage bag and the battery seems to be lasting.In the great scheme of things it doesn't take too long to use (approx 25 mins a day)The negatives:You do use a lot of gel and my face always feels very sticky afterwards so I try to use it in the evening.It calls itself the 60second face lift but it is 60 seconds x 17 (the number of spots you have to apply the facial toner) plus putting gel on the toner in-between and wiping it off your face!It can feel a little uncomfortable at times but you just need to adjust the position (and ensure you have enough gel)My one concern is that when working on the jawline cheeks the way it moves your muscles does seem to accentuate the mouth lines. I am worried that with long term use it might make these lines worse rather than better. Any suggestions for how to overcome this would be gratefully received.

Have been using this 5 x days a week for about two months now, and am convinced it has made a difference!I am a full time gardener, and the constant sun, wind and rain have not been kind to my face! I needed all the help I can get, and topical creams just don't work for me. But this actually seems to be doing the trick.It takes between 20-30 mins to work thru all the areas on your face but you can see the muscles working. Don't be fooled into thinking this is a quick fix -it is not, and like any exercise routine, it will need to be done regularly and long term to work effectively.I feel it has already improved my jaw line, reduced my moustache lines,plumped up my upper lip and started lifting my brow so my eyes look less 'hooded'.The gel pot only lasted about a month, but replacements are readily available online. The battery is still going strong.Have used the patches under my eyes once, is a very time consuming operation, and you could see a difference, but didn't last long. Will save them for special occasions (and when I have an hour to spare getting ready!)I am complementing my 'face workout' with 2x applications of Bio Oil -to tone up and tighten, and this seems to work for me.Would defiantly recommend.

This product is amazing. The best investment I've made as far as for my face. This is a miracle unit. It did wonders for my facial toning. Made me look easy 20 years younger and vibrant. I had a lot of complements from so many. They would ask me what I'm doing, that I'm looking so much younger and vibrant and what happened to the lines on my upper lie and around my eyes! I bout it in Jan this year, and just wanted to wait and write a review on this product. On the 2nd week I started seeing wondrous changes, but I was using it religiousl and for hours and not just 60 second. I wanted results. So when I got my confidence back I gradually stopped using it, it's been about 3-4 months that I haven't touched and used it big mistake.We're back to square one. But no worries now I know that I can not just stop using it. I've started again today and will continue because truly it does wonders. You just have to be patient, give it time, and never get too confident and never stop using it, you can lessen the amount of time but don't drop it all together since your facial muscles are getting their exercise with it. After all this I just want to say I love this unit. I highly recommend it.Thank you Rio 60 second.

I am 31years old. My face is sagging for about 4years. My nasolabial lines were very apparent. And I had hollowness under my eyes. I live in Turkey and I searched for everything to lift my face. That took a lot of time to find this device. I couldn't look to mirrors until I found this miracle thing. I do it for about 4months. But unfortunately not every day. First I couldn't see the difference. But when I increased the time I began to see my face lifting.You must do it at least for 3minutes in only one part. İt takes 30minutes to finish the whole face and when you don't do it everyday Your face begins to get worse again. The main problem is the conductive gel. I can't find it here in Turkey.And there are several types of conductive gels. Can I use the gel that doctors use to pregnant woman's stomachs in ultrasone? I wonder how much improvement I will see by using this miracle device for about one year..Now my under eye hollows don't disturb me so much and my nasolabial lines are better than before but I need much more time to see the best results. I will write here again.
