One of my many jobs at work is to produce training documents and certification. This often requires stapling perhaps a dozen or so A4 sheets together for maybe 30 – 40 employees. It’s not the most difficult of tasks but it is tedious and I’m always on the lookout for things to make my job that little bit easier.The Rexel became available so it was the perfect opportunity to order and review. It’s not as heavy as its spec suggests and fits very neatly (sitting on rubber feet) alongside the laminator and printer in the office. The power lead is of a sensible length and the unit doesn’t seem particularly noisy in operation. It comes with a cartridge of 5000 staples which is easily loaded.

This Rexel half strip electric stapler is black and silver as shown. Out of the packet you have the stapler and the three pin plug power adapter that connects it to the mains. It uses the Rexel 5000 cartridge or the Swingline cartridge staples 5000 that was included in the pack. To lift the top there are two buttons on the sides which you depress to lift the top cover. Then you prime the cartridge by tearing off about 25mm of the staple , turn it downwards and strip off. This is the most important step, if not properly done, the stapler will be shooting blanks and not stapling. I was frustrated by this and when I thought of jacking it in, I gave it one ,one more try and the stapler was primed and stapling effortlessly.

This is the best automatic stapler we’ve tried. It looks a bit plasticky but it is much more hardwearing and solid than it looks. Put on a smooth and flat surface, the sucker feet hold it in place, though as you’d expect on a rough surface such as wood the suckers won’t hold. The stapler is easy to use: poke the papers into the slot and they are stapled.Being a heavy duty stapler, you can staple up to 30 pages together. The staple cartridge is a handy feature, especially as it loads 5000 staples at once. The mains adapter has a lead long enough to reach a nearby socket, but as this is a mains-only stapler likely to get frequent use, a place to plug it in will be required.

Exactly as currently pictured in the above stock images, this is a marvellous electric stapler that quickly makes light work of the chunkier reports I need to put together as part of my month-end routines. It went through 75 bundles of 28 sheets (80 gsm) without a single failure or jam.I have tried it on smaller batches of paper and that was successful too. However, I have several other staplers that can handle just a few pages to hand, so I keep this one and the mains adaptor in the box the rest of the month. With the LIME GREEN flash down the right-hand side, it is easy to spot the box lurking at the very back of the shelf with the rest of the end-of-month paraphernalia I like to put out of sight (& mind)

Loading instructions could be clearer. Eventually I worked out that to “prime” the staple cartridge (the staples come on a roll) you extract a small bit (2.5cm max) and twist it off. Next press both side buttons simultaneously and lift off the cover vertically. Lift the green lever and insert the cartridge until it clicks into place, then replace the cover. There is a sliding adjuster on the side depending on the thickness of the paper to be stapled (up to 30 sheets max).Now you simply plug it in to the mains and start stapling. It’s quick and simple but not as quiet as I’d hoped (to be fair not much noisier than a manual one though).There is a red knob on the bottom which is for mid-feeds -

First off this comes with a 5000 stapler cartridge ... so you can get right to it from the moment you open the box.It also comes with a 'proof' sample to show you it's stapling ok. (Although it is odd how the actual unit still seems sealed internally unless they seal it up again after testing.Either way it's not brilliant on the quality front. The plastic top shelf feels very flimsy. The main body of the stapler seems reasonably well made, again not really brilliant.Fairly easy to get more stapling cartridges from Amazon and it comes, as I said, with some to begin with.Easy to set up and get going, solid feet, In terms of being able to do the job then 5 STARS,

This is well made and comes complete with a mains power adapter with a uk plug. The stapler fires on insertion of papers against a sensor. The staple fires and does the job very well. The staples are supplied in a cartridge and each one contains 5000 staples. So you it doesn't need to be filled this back up very frequently. Being automatic it does take the pain out of stapling if you are doing repetitive jobs. My only criticism is that it is possible with only a few sheets to miss the guides and so the distance of the staple form the edge of the paper is not consistent. Also, I found the depth adjustment to be easily pushed back, again varying the depth of staple unintentionally.

In my job I am constantly producing documents that need to be stapled together. Over £100 for an electric stapler may seem pricey but in reality for how I use it, it's worth its weight in gold! This stapler can staple up to 30 sheets at one time. I have tested it, and actually it's capable of doing slightly more than that but I haven't chanced it too often. Normally with documents over 30 pages it's more sensible to bind them anyway. It's quieter than I thought too and you can load it up with the staples meaning the refill of it is infrequent. Really impressed so far, however I think it's only worth the price tag for people that would need it regularly (hence the 4 stars)

This is a mains only stapler unlike other models which give you the option of mains or batteries. So you’re going to have to make sure you are near a socket to plug it in. It’s probably not worth investing this money if you only do occasional stapling but if you regularly use one then it makes things so much easier. You get some staples included (yay!) but I found it a pain to figure out how to load them the first time and found it very frustrating (boo). It’s not very intuitive and is the main reason I’ve knocked a star off. However, once you’re up and running it’s great - effortless. A bit noisy but not unacceptably so but no jams so far.

This is an incredible machine!Can staple many booklets etc with ease. I work in a busy local community centre. We turn out many booklets a week and stapling together with a manual stapler can take a while plus not always get the staples in line. But with this electric stapler everything is so easy. Fast stapling. In time too with the built in marker.Good basic instructions that are easy to follow. The stapler is well made and certainly carefully designed.Impressed.Highly recommended.

This is a bit much to get out just to put a couple of bits of paper together, but if you have the office task of stapling fifty or a hundred sets, it will save you a good thirty minutes in one go. It's got adjustable depth so that you can be sure that the stapling is consistent. It works really fast—don't gingerly push your paper in and expect to wiggle it a bit, as the stapling is triggered by insertion and it gives about a second before it activates. Very good piece of kit.

This is a heavy duty electric stapler, that is suitable for lighter jobs up to 30 sheets of paper, which makes it ideal for office or classroom use. It has a preloaded cartridge that contains 5000 staples included, so you can use it straight away. There is an instruction manual and it is easy to follow and fairly simple to use. There is a guide marker, that helps you to ensure you are stapling in the same place every time, so stapling jobs are neat and uniform.

This is a very easy to use stapler that saves punching work and which has also been reliable for us - which is good, because I don't see how you would be able to make many repairs to it yourself as it doesn't really open up easily in case of jamming etc. (Which has happened a few times, but we have had it for long now, so that does not seem to be a major problem).It's lighter and more plastic feeling that I had expected, but functionality wise it is good.

I was pleasantly surprised by this stapler, at first it seems a bit gimmicky but after a week using it, you're lost without it if you have a busy admin session!So these are no gimmick, they are just damned useful!On the function of them, I found the stapler to be very easy to load, and extremely easy to use! If anything, they speed up the admin process, and if they do that in my book, they are gold dust!

As expected from Rexel, a very high quality piece of kit for people that want to do lots of heavy duty stapling. Comes with a blet feed reel of staples, that is very easy to fit. Very compact - small footprint on the desktop. Remote DC transformer.
