I ordered this for my girlfriend, so this review reflects her opinion. Her hair is naturally fairly straight, so she wanted these to add volume, rather than to make her hair properly curly.She uses them on the lower end of the temperature scale (140-200), to avoid burning herself, so they heat up very quickly. Once up to temperature, she says they’re quite easy to use. The lever you need to press is fairly chunky and the clip holds her fair in place firmly, without making it difficult to extract her hair. You wind up a section of hair and leave it for about 30 seconds. It takes her no more than ten minutes tops to do her whole head of hair.She says it works better curling outwards, rather than inwards.The end results are not dramatic. I wouldn’t describe her hair as curly afterwards, but it’s no longer straight; there’s definitely more volume and texture. Effects last for a few days. If you wanted to keep it up, then you’d need to be doing this two or three times a week, but she only uses them sporadically (e.g. before a night out).As I said, she only uses lower temperatures and does a fairly quick treatment, so it’s possible that greater effects could be achieved, though this is also likely to depend on your hair type. More frequent use or higher temperatures could possibly lead to hair damage, but this hasn’t been an issue with my girlfriend’s ‘little and seldom’ approach to it.Having used some much cheaper, store-brand curlers in the past, she prefers these for ease of use, but says they don’t have much greater effect on her hair.[Pictures are before, during, and 2x after a single application.]

My wife appreciates this hair curler very much. It is very versatile, as the temperature control enables settinga to suit from very fine, to very thick hair. It is very efficient, reaching working temperature within 30 secs. A very useful feature is the little fold-a-way stand, which is very unobtrusive, yet enables the tongs to be set down on a surface without fear of burning. It works by using a clamp operated just by your thumb and in line with the main barrel to hold about two inches of your hair on the barrel and you can then roll the hair right down to the root along the barrel. This gives very satisfactory curling results and is in my opinion far better than other methods where you need a protective glove to curl your hair around a hot barrel.It is quick and easy to use. It has a simple on off switch and a red led to indicate when on which makes it very easy to use. The temperature adjustment is by a simple rotary dial on the body. The instruction booklet is only a couple of pages, which is all that is necessary. You will be up and running with this within minutes of opening the package. It is also very attractive which you will see from the illustrations. Slight negative is that I might have wished for a longer mains lead. What you get is however, very robust and will not wear out in a hurray.

Ever since getting my GHD curlers, I haven’t been interested in any other brand. However, when I saw these and the lovely turquoise colour they come in I had to try them. I am pleasantly surprised and have found the quality and performance to be very similar to my GHDs but are far cheaper.They are an absolutely beautiful rose gold colour which makes them look very expensive and luxuriousThey heat up really quickly and you are able to adjust the heat to the temperature you'd like. I like to use them on the lowest temperature because it produces a lovely soft effect that isn't too tight.They are easy to use and don't burn my hair at all. I have actually noticed a significant reduction in my hair breaking since changing to these.This must be because of the high quality ceramic plates.After using them a few times they still appear brand new with no signs of heat damage on the barrel.Another great thing about them is that they come with a nice punch to store them in when you are not using them. I like this as I do not need to worry about them burning anything around them or falling on to the carpet and scorching itI would recommend these because they are reliable and high quality. They would be an excellent Christmas present to a lady in your life. A wonderful luxurious product.

The 'REVLON Pro Collection Salon Long-Last Curls and Waves Styler - RVIR1159' is a large-barrel (32mm) curling tong, designed to make large curls/waves. The size of the barrel prohibits making tight spirals and the like, so look elsewhere if that is what you desire to create! The device is well-balanced and easy to hold, and the power lead is a good length. There is a power indicator light but nothing to indicate when the tongs are up to temperature - it says that they heat up very quickly, but I would have preferred to know for sure, and it seems a curious omission. There is a temperature selection dial, with higher temperatures intended for thicker hair,which is easy to adjust but placed where knocking it accidentally and frying your hair is unlikely. The barrel is an attractive shade of rose gold, and the moving parts all have very smooth operation. The power cord swivels at the point at which it joins the body of the tongs, which is helpful in not getting tangled up in the wire. The curls produced are, due to the nature of the large barrel, large and loose (more waves, really), but are nicely formed and the high temperatures make the hair smooth and shiny. Good product.

I have a shortish hairstyle with long layers.This heats up quickly and efficiently. With different heat settings for different types of hair. Mine is long layered fine yet thick hair. I use it on the lowest heat setting.I can confirm that this curls or adds bounce to my hair beautifully.....no drying mouse or hair styling lotion needs to be applied either for this look to last and last.The barrel is on the large side so if you have short layers I think this would be the wrong styler for you.I can honestly say that I have salon styled hair when using this, and can confirm that this has not affected the excellent condition of my hair it's been used.All in all I have been very impressed with thisstyler.....I have dropped one star as I feel that it would have been a perfect all rounder had the barrel been designed slightly smaller...all in all it's very good and the design quality and result of styling while using this does not reflect the reasonable price point.Brilliant.

These are quite long curling tongs. The handle is slim and covered with a grippy black plastic, and there is an insulated end useful to hold the iron whilst curling.The tong is switched on with a simple on/off switch, the temperature can be set on a dial 140-200DegC (not known how accurate this is). The cable is a reasonable length ~(180cm) if you have a power socket near a mirror. There’s a small movable wire stand which can be positioned to put the hot wand on a surface or fold it back in line with the body for storage.The wand is polished metal so hair slides off it pretty smoothly. The handle to release the clamp is the weak part of the design.With medium sized hands I found it a stretch and the thumb rest of slippey black plastic so it’s too easy to release it randomly.The wand has a large barrel so makes big curls, works best of long un layered hair

Revlon make curling irons in a range of sizes to give your hair a range of curls - ranging from waves to tight curls. On the Revlon hair tools website they're measured in inches, and come in half inch, three quarter inch, inch and one and a quarter inch. One and a quarter inches is 32mm which is the size of this RVIR1159 curling iron, so it's relatively big and allows you to make waves as well as curls.This styler has a black handle and shiny pink gold barrel, with a 20 position heat control. The 1159 gives a softer curl than I was expecting and I found it hard to know whether it had reached my desired temperature.But they are easy to use and I find that by carefully working with the temperature control I can achieve a finish in my hair that lasts if I add a bit of hairspray when I'm happy with the way it looks.

This was very well received by my assistant tester, who wasted no time in putting it through its paces; here`s what she had to say about it:“The thick barrelled curling wand is perfect for loose curls and waves. The iron heats up quickly and the different temperature settings mean it is suitable for different hair types. I have long hair and was able to wrap all my hair around the barrel in one go because the curling iron is quite long. There is also a little stand attached which allows you to sit the tongs on a surface. I used these mostly to create a beach wave look but they can also be used for tighter curls.I also really like the rose gold aesthetic which makes the tongs look more expensive than they are.”She was very pleased with this product as her 5 star rating shows.

Tried this last night on my Granddaughter, the curls were a bit big for her, but they stayed all night. I've just had another go on her hair and wrapped around tighter that was at 8 am and even in he torrential rain they are still holding, very impressed with these as normally once out in the rain they would drop out. She loves the curls so I am very impressed with the hold. It has a 32mm Rose gold barrel and only 30 seconds to heat up, and on and off indicator which is handy so you know if you've left them on, also 20 heat settings one to suit every one and a stand so you can put it down without burning the surface. Heats up to 200 deg C. A long cool tip for ease of use and a swivel cord.As well as all this they carry a 4 year guarantee. Really like these and so easy to use.

These tongs are fabulous for the money.I have long, layered, thick and wavy hair that curls easily. These made it look amazing. It creates big loose, bouncy curls that last but I don't know that they last all day but still stay in well. I also use these to create mega volume and they work brilliantly for that.The tong itself looks ok and has a rose gold barrel which is nice. The tongs grip the hair well and are easy to use unlike a wand. They heat up quickly and vary in temperature going up to 210C. My only criticism is that the cable is quite short and won't always reach the mirror where you are doing your hair.These are fantastic overall and make my hair look amazing.I can't believe how effective they are for the price. I highly recommend these.

This is a beautiful rose gold big plated curling iron that works perfectly for loose curls. When I've used it, it heats up straight away and recommends different temperatures for different types of hair. Easy to hold and has a nice stand so that it doesn't lay straight onto any surface. I prefer this much more over any curling irons that require a glove to be worn throughout as it's much easier for control and getting the perfect curls. Since it is a large barrel it is basically impossible to get those tight curls, but if you're looking for wavy, loose curls then this is definitely perfect for you! Recommended!
