The kit has pleanty of detail and goes together nicely and only has minimal flashing. It does however have all plastic construction even on hand rails and hand rails appear to be over scale thickness. The kit also has some questionable choices on parts that could be moulded together but instead are seperate but offer no benifit- for exaple the seal where the prop shaft meets the hull could be part of the hull but consists of 2 seperate parts with the seam meeting allong the side where it is visable. Despite this the deck has a convinient clip in mid section that can be left un glued for access and enough space inside if you choose to motorise it like me.

I saw another modeller build this on YouTube and thought I would like a go at this one, as I love building the smaller 1/700 Hobbyboss or Revell subs. The only downfall is they are quite tiny whereas this one is 50cm or so across so loads of scope to detail.The parts go together really well, and they are detailed enough to keep everyone happy. The build itself only took a couple of hours but the attention to detail is brilliant. For me the fun of this kit is on the weathering and painting, but you cannot go wrong with this kit.

Wow, this kit was fabulous from Revell. The detailing on the boat is wonderful, with both recessed and raised parts, giving a very nice sense of scale. It included 3 different markings, so it's possible to create a Wolfpack of these u-boats. The fit was great and is a newer tooling from around 2009, so it's as expected. All in all a great kit by revell, the only downside is the censoring of the flag, but that's understandable.If you've built a relatively modern revell kit, you know what quality to expect.

A decent model, nice size. It did get a bit fiddly when getting to the railings and assembling the machine guns though. Lots of different colour schemes as well. I ended up doing gunmetal for the superstructure and green/silver below the waterline, a nice addition to the collection.

Decent model, better than Airfix kits with clear instructions and good finishedproduct. I would say intermediate skill level required with some small parts difficult to place exactly.Really enjoyed painting and making it and would buy again.Recommended.

I loved this model. Great detail and ability to add your own featuresStill waiting to put on the thread rigging but completed model is great.Great fun and not to difficult but still enough to challenge you

Great kit, easy to make but some fiddly parts to assemble. I suppose that's why we make them. The overall finish is good with numerous u.boat colour schemes and boats which served the German navy.

quality kits from revell as usual. little bits of over mold on some of the parts but thats just part of the fun! currently suspended in my aquarium. Looks the part.

Excellent model to build i would have given 5 stars but there are lots of small pieces so be careful when removing from frame.Does look good when painted.

As with all kits the pleasure is in the building and painting. This one is to the usual Revell standard.Service and delivery...very good

Spot on, my very own U boat - a well detailed model, enough parts to make it fun but not over complicated either.

Like all Revell kits,the details are very good indeed,once painted,it looks stunning and makes a good display.

Very little after work to do, although found it easier to paint the yellow strips rather than use the decals

Excellent kit. Good fit of all parts. Some are very tiny, but go together very well. Very enjoyable.
