A tiny model, just about 5" long, re-issue of a Heller Cadet kit from the mid-1970s. I'm not sure what kind of ship it's supposed to be, the nameplate on the stand just says "GALION" and it looks more like something from Narnia, than something really used by the Spanish Armada. It had few parts and was easy to build, but there is a mistake on the instructions: The oars should be fitted from the INSIDE, before you glue the hull halves together, not from the outside after the hull is finished, as the instructions show. Colourful paper flags are included, but no decals. Painted in bright colours and with flags flying, the result was a very decorative (and cute) little model.

I enjoyed building it and was quite a challenge. The parts don't fit together very well and the cannons on one side don't meet up so it look like they are cut in half. The drawing on the instructions is black and white so its hard to know what colour each part of the ship is supposed to be. Also the crows nests look a bit to large. Overall its a nice model but recommend getting a larger one because its small and very fiddly. It does come with flags but I haven't put them on yet.

My 8 year old son was doing the armada for school and needed to make a model. This was a great bonding exercise for him and his dad and fairly easy to put together
